the court, behind the other
team's playing area When in
jail, you can try to hit an
opponent by having balls
passed to you by your
players who are out of "jail."
If you do manage to hit a
player from the other team
while you are in jail, you can
run back to your team's
playing area.
If you catch someone's
attempt to hit you, then that
counts as a hit against
them.

Perfect Passes
A tosser serves the ball to a
passer. The passer digs the
ball to the target. Target
volleys the ball over the net
to the tosser, and then the
tosser volleys to the passer
to keep the ball going. If
they can successfully
complete this 3 times, they
rotate positions. Repeat
until all 3 students have had
a go in each position.
Progression:
2v1- tosser must run to
receive the ball, and
send it again to passer
Bridging organization
Stop students working and divide them into pairs. Ensure each pair has one ball between
them.
Explain the next skill, give a demonstration and ensure all students understand.

Bridging organization
Stop students working. Separate the class into teams of 10 by merging 5 pairs. Explain the
game and ensure all students understand.
Modified Game
Divide the class into teams of
10 players. 2 teams position
themselves on either side of
the net. The third team
positions themselves around
the court and acts as line
judges, ball retrievers,
referees or can be used for
peer assessment. One team
starts with the ball. The game
begins with one student
serving from the back corner
of the court. Students on the
receiving team try to catch or
set the ball before it touches
the ground. After catching the
ball, without moving, the
student can either throw or
set it over the net or throw or
set it to another team-mate.
Teams can throw or set the
ball up to 3 times before they
send it back over to the other
team. A team scores a point
if: the ball lands on the
ground of the opposing sides
court, the opposing team fails
to serve the ball over the net
after two consecutive
attempts, a team makes more
than 3 touches or the ball
lands out of bounds. Teams
