WHAT IS INSOMNIA ??

Definition
By definition, insomnia is "difficulty initiating
or maintaining sleep, or both" and it may be
due to inadequate quality or quantity of sleep
Classification of insomnia
Symptoms lasting than one week are
classified as transient insomnia
Symptoms between one to three weeks are
classified as short term insomnia
Longer than three weeks are classified as
chronic insomnia

statistic on insomnia
i. affects women more often than men.
ii. more common in people in lower
socioeconomic (income) groups,
iii. chronic alcoholics
iv. mental health patients.
v. stress

conclusion
There are still many people remain unaware of
the behavioral and medical options available
to treat insomnia.
Although they know what insomnia is and
how they feel and perform after one or more
sleepless nights, only few of them seek
medical advice.
people who suffering this symptom should
consult the doctor to get prompt treatment
