    Classroom News
    Our first week was short, but a success! I
    am amazed by how well the children work and
    play together!
    We were very busy this week. We went
    over many classroom and school procedures this
    week. We began learning about counting in math,
    how to care for books in reading, took a look at
    our science notebooks, and began using our calen-
    dar binders the very first day of school!
    Next week we will begin our specials
    classes. I still am not sure of the final schedule, so
    I will let you know as soon as it is final.

    August 29 no school -Labor Day
    break

    September 1 no school Labor Day
    break
    September 2 open house at 6:30

    September5 Bishops Mass at SMV

    September 12 Color Day

    Friendly Reminders

    Please feel free to
    send a water bottle to
    school with your child. They can keep
    it in the classroom with them pro-
    vided they can open and close them
    independently. They will be sent home
    to be washed at the end of each
    week.
    Please remember you may send in a
    special quiet time blanket your child
    may use each day after lunch.
    A peek at the week

    Next week we will begin a quick
    overview of the alphabet learning
    a new letter each day. We will also
    begin doing our small group guided
    reading, begin using our math inter-
    active notebooks and do our first
    science experiment!
