Objective:

Seeking a Communication and/or Marketing Manager who would love a great communication graduate to rely on! My experience already includes working a trade show floor, shooting event pictures and writing quick (and effective) articles for the number one hairdressing magazine in the US. Im comfortable working a room, not to mention a pen, a phone and social media. Ive been proud of the many opportunities in my life to lead, and I believe leadership comes from a commitment to responsibility; a belief that many are better than a few and that dependability, adaptability and accountability are all pre-requisites for success. A smile doesnt hurt as well, not to mention the words sure, Ill take care of it especially when everyone else is going home.

Behindthechair.com, Editorial & Marketing Intern, Chicago, IL (May-October 2013)


Behindthechair.com is the worlds largest media company for salon professionals with over 800,000 members worldwide, including a Facebook that has over 445,000 likes. They also have the number one hairstylist magazine in the US & Canada, which is published 5 times a year with over 175 pages per issue.
Responsible for writing, editing, building and loading articles, hair collections and product announcements for the online site. Worked closely with celebrity hairdressers and colorists. Used crowd-sourcing on Facebook to gather content to create articles for hairdressers. Copy-edited the bi-monthly magazine to check for grammatical errors and AP consistencies. Assisted the advertising team in conceptualizing unique client advertising strategies, especially as they pertained to social media opportunities. Attended the industrys largest conference in Las Vegas to assist senior editors to cover stories on the show floor, including new products from companies such as LOreal, Aveda, Matrix, Redken, TIGI, etc, in addition to meeting with clients with the advertising team. Was sent to Minneapolis as part of editorial team to assist in covering Avedas largest worldwide conference. This coverage including taking pictures, conducting artist interviews, live social media posts during the event and follow-up interviews post-show for the magazine article. Special Project: The company gave me the opportunity to build their Instagram from nearly scratch. In a 3 month period, I increased followers from 3,000 to 17,000 utilizing their reach from other social media outlets. Worked directly with the Social Media Director and also assisted with Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.

Integrated Media Corps (2012- Present)


This is one of the most competitive and desired internships at Wittenberg. This internship is focused on editorial & video production. It requires working with outside organizations on developing and producing creative videos, radio commercials, and other inventive projects under very tight deadlines. Produced and Managed:

International Experience:

Danish Institute for Study Abroad in Copenhagen (January-May 2013)


I was enrolled in brand management, communication and marketing classes taught by professionals.
We worked directly with companies such as Amnesty International, The BBC, Bloomberg, Cow PR and TV2 (Denmarks main news channel). Created a marketing proposal for Bang and Olufsens B&O Play. While I have traveled extensively my entire life, this experience has taught me to adapt quickly to all situations and to learn to live on my own in a foreign country.

Volunteer Work:

Lesotho, Africa Summer Program (June-July 2011)


I was a selected applicant to travel to Africa for a month to help local children and their families.
Our team built green houses, piggeries, water systems and a soccer field through Kick4Life. Inspired me to be culturally relativistic
