    A "Use of Force" model was developed to assist officers to continually assess situations and select the most reasonable force option relative to the circumstances as perceived at the point of time. The graduated scale around the edge of the diagram assists discussions on various options as they apply. This chart has been useful when determining when/if Taser use is appropriate for use. For instance, if Tasers are determined to be occasionally lethal, it may be appropriate to only use them when the situation itself may result in serious bodily harm or death.
