Task: Student pairs work collaboratively to select their own chapter of text adapted from Pannikin and Pinta by Colin Thiele. Utilising imported images, text cubes, and building virtual artefacts students will recreate and publish their chapter in a virtual world using Sim-on-a-Stick, presenting their work in week 9. Week 2 15/10 Lesson Sequence Introduce students to virtual world technology. Starting and shutting down. Basic movement. Moral and ethical reasoning/digital citizenship. SoaS induction: Basic building and uploading an image of Lake Eyre Criteria handout: read with students and commence project. Students compose and edit text in in-world. Partner checks grammar, punctuation. Does it make sense? How will we bring this to life virtually? What is important visually/placement of artefacts/colour/textures? What can we leave out?
