The effects of KAQUN-water on patients undergoing oncology treatment randomized study
Dr. Gabriella Liszkay - National Institute of Oncology
Kaqun is a special type of high oxygen-content water, which can be used as water for therapy by drinking and/or bathing. Observations: improves fitness and well-being, successful in wound treatment, reduces skin inflammation. Immunological examinations showed that percentage ratio of NK cells increased, the expression of CD25 surface marker was influenced, increased reactive oxygen intermediates production improves activity of neutrophil granulocytes. Aim: to study the effects of Kaqun-water on patients undergoing oncological treatment. Primary endpoints: radiation-induced dermatitis, drug-induced dermatitis, fitness and state of mind, studying changes in exulceration. Secondary endpoints: changes in cutaneous manifestations of melanoma, tumor response in complex oncotherapy of stage IV melanoma. Patient groups: Group 1: 10 randomly chosen patients, with any grade of skin symptoms due to targeted therapy, undergoing any dermatological treatment; Group 2: 10 randomly chosen patients with solid tumors having gone under radiotherapy (any radiation source); Group 3: 5 patients that were not treated with radiotherapy due to cutaneous metastases (intransit) of malignant melanoma; Group 4: 10 patients undergoing complex oncotherapy for stage IV malignant melanoma. Our preliminary results show, that the Kaqun-water has a favorable effect on the patients fitness and psychological status, and on the level of side effects of oncotherapy.
Psychological changes during Kaqun-water bath therapy among stage IV melanoma patients first experiences
Kovacs P, Czirbesz K, Gorka E, Liszkay G. Introduction: Oncotherapy is often interrupted because of the decreasing level of general well-being. Holding the level of quality of life during oncological treatments is a very important task. Kaqun-water therapy can be a possible and available way to handle deteriorating general distress so as life quality. Sample: We compared 3 groups of participants. Group 1. contained 11 stage IV melanoma patients having Kaqun-water bath therapy. Group 2. contained 7 stage IV melanoma participants without Kaqun-water therapy. Group 3. was the healthy controll with 9 participants. Method: In our longitudinal study we measured depression (Beck Depression Inventory, BDI), anxiety (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, STAI), and changes of quality of life (Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy - General, FACT-G). Psychological status was tested four times during Kaqun-water bath therapy. Group 2. and the controll group were tested at the same time. Patients were asked to fill out psychological questionnaires. The results were statistically compared with SPSS 17. for Windows. Results: In Group 1. and 2. significantly higher depression and anxiety were measured (p<0,001). In Group 1. the level of anxiety reduced significantly during the therapy time (p<0,05), but the level of depression did not changed. In Group 2. the level of anxiety increased significantly (p<0,05), but the level of depression were also stable at these patients. Gender, age, and social support seem to have no influence on these psychological factors. In Group 1. the value of quality of life improved clearly during the bath therapy (p<0,001). In Group 2. we observed decreasing level of well being (p<0,001). Conclusion: Due to the low number of participants no final conclusions can be drawn. However, as an additional treatment, Kaqun-water therapy is proven to be highly effective in improving quality of life and promote better psychological status.
Effect of hypoxia on tumor progression; Kaqun water results tumor-growth arrest in SCID mice experiment.
Dr. Hunyadi Jnos, DrSc, DEOEC, Debrecen, Department of Dermatology Intratumoral hypoxia is a major factor contributing to cancer progression. Hypoxia enhances angiogenesis, facilitates tumor growth, and thereby reduces the efficacy of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It is assumed that increasing oxygen level in tumors may cause an opposite effect. Accordingly investigation of hypoxia targeted therapy is an important field of cancer research. In the present study we investigated the influence of KAQUN water consumption on the in vivo intake, and growth-kinetic of human tumor cells in xenotransplants grafted to mice with Severe Combined Immune-deficient (SCID). SCID mice allow routine engraftment and growth of xenogenic cells due to their abnormal humoral and cellular immune defense mechanism. KAQUN water is oxygen enriched by a special patented technology. In this water oxygen is present in a stable form with a concentration of 18-25 mg/l, which is manifold of the oxygen content of normal drinking water. Human ovarian carcinoma cells (A2780), and a cells derived from human cervix carcinoma (KB-3-1) were transplanted to SCID mice in 4 x 106 and in 2 x 106 cell numbers respectively. Control mice were drinking normal water (n=9), while others received the oxygen enriched Kaqun water (n=9). One further group of the animals (n=5) started to drink Kaqun water 14 days before xenotransplantation. Volume of growing xenografts was estimated 11, 17, 25 and 33 days after xenotransplantation. One mouse was sacrificed in each investigated groups on days 18 and 26 and all others on days 33 for obtaining tumors and internal organs for histological investigation. In the present experiment 4 out of the 9 control mice died before finishing the experiment, while only 2 out of the 14 Kaqun consuming groups did so. Eleven days after injection of tumor cells the cervical carcinoma cell line resulted well defined tumors in both control and Kaqun water consuming animals. At the same time interval, ovarian carcinoma cells developed detectable tumors only in the control group. Grow of tumors after 4 X 10 6 A2780 tumor cell transplantation was not detected at 3 out of 14 mice in the Kaqun treated group, while in all control animals (n=9) growing of ovarian carcinoma was detectable. Seventeen days after xenotransplantation the volume of tumor were significantly smaller in Kaqun and pre-Kaqun group in the case of both type of tumors only if the injected cells were 4 million. We suppose that a./ the lower death rate, b./ the decreased tumor take c./ the decreased growth kinetic in Kaqun water consuming groups and d./ the tendency of tumor-regression observed at 5 of the Kaqun water treated mice might be the consequence of the changed tissue oxigenisation. Histological investigation of the growing tumors stated, that Kaqun consumption resulted in a high apoptotic activity, and damaged tumor cells, which correlates with the clinical data. Getting more information about the influence of tissue oxygen tension on tumor cells might lead to further therapeutic options. We believe that better understanding of physiologic effect of oxygen saturation will result in an improved knowledge regarding the mechanism of tumor oxygenisation and the influence of oxygen saturation on tumor therapy. 2013 EUROPEAN KAQUN SYSTEM ALL RIGHTS RESERVED WWW.KAQUN.EU
Supposed mechanism of tumor-grow arrest caused by Kakun water consumption will also be discussed.Formation of oxyradicals int he presence of Kaqun water in vitro

It is well known, that the common water has a tetrahedral structure forming clusters from hundreds of molecules. As a consequence, individual water molecules, large and small clusters are present in the fluid. In biological systems only the small clusters can penetrate the cell membrane. In reaction to electronic impulse in Kaqun water large clusters disintegrate and the released oxygen atoms will be closed in the small clusters. It can be hypothetised that these in clusters closed oxygen atoms may increase the amount of reactive oxygen radicals in a peroxidase-peroxide system since peroxidase can reduce the atomic oxygen to peroxide in stabilized oxygenrich water increasing the amount of reactive oxygen species in the system. Because all reaction components are present, this process can also occur within the cells of different organisms. In this study we used a highly sensitive self-made HRP-proxidebenzidine based photometric assay, which hase been developed to measure the amount of reactive oxygen radicals and to determine the TAS(total antioxidant status) in serum and urine samples. Our results demonstrate that in a reaction time of 10 seconds, significantly higher concenrations of oxygen radicals could be generated in Kaqun water than in control water. Based on these results we suggest that sufficient intake of Kaqun watercan lead to a faster reactive oxygen radical generation to higher concentration in the Fenton(Haber-Weiss) reaction also in vivo sytems. Several publications confirmed that the formation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) are critically involved int he initiation of apoptosis. Therefore, oxygen-rich Kaqun water might help to enhance apoptosis showing a favorable effect on various diseases such rheumatoid arthritis. Our in vitro results provide a possible explanation for the favorable clinical effect of Kaqun water which has been found in several studies.
The effects of consuming water with high oxygen content (KAQUN) water on mental abilities of the elderly
Ivn Szalkai MD Oriental Medical Center, Budapest 58 elderly volunteer between 60-75 years old, with average health have consumed 0.5; 1; 1.5 litres of Kaqun water and normal tap water respectively for one month. The results of the groups were compared with a double-blind method. We examined the reflex time, cognitive time, normal pulse, the appearance of autonomic (sympathetic and parasympathetic) effects in circulation before and after load, as well as the stress sensitivity of the cardiovascular system and the elasticity of the blood vessels walls respectively. The analysis of the data showed that contrary to normal water it showed more sensitive reactions in almost every parameter and a significant improvement was noted in memory use respectively. The process in certain parameters depends on the amount consumed, while other improvements are visible even at smaller doses, as well as a reaction decrease phase in the last week can be noticed. The the results are explained by the complex effects of water, (oxygen, ROI, RNI levels) so Kaqun water has a place in the treatment and prevention of both vascular and neurodegenerative dementia.
Non-Local Physiological Indicators as a Predictor for Evolving Breast Cancer by Regulation Thermography
Dr. Daniel Beilin Regulation Thermometry (Thermography) has been a method for monitoring patient progress and the effects of long and short-term therapies for over 25 years. With the new creation of fuzzy-logic algorithms and software, and with immediate comprehensive reporting, various forms of cancer therapies can now be accurately tracked. By observing trends in the Autonomic Nervous System and the biological information that modulates the Autonomic signals to the skin, it is now possible to follow the patient non-invasively at very low cost. Distant latent infections as well as kidney, liver and GI dysfunction (Gastrointestinal) are seen in the method and detail that can lead to more effective therapies and lifestyle changes necessary for the goal of permanent remission, are facilitated.
The role and possibility of complementary medicine in cancer treatment, as a view of a patient organization's leader
Prof Tamas SIMON President of Hungarian League Against Cancer The complementary medicine if we can like it or not is persisted and want to fine their role and place in the health care. The traditional medical society can not accept easy its role and benefits because the users of it always refuse everything which was not taught them in the university. The problem is in the realistic evaluation of this issue to make difference between the alternative medicine and complementary medicine. It is well known too we can fine in the market many wonder substances without any scientific evaluation of their effectiveness. The complementary medicine is not a synonym of alternative medicine. The complementary medicine do not want substitute the traditional medicine, only it want to help the traditional medicine with the help to the patients immune system and it can diminished the side effects of chemo- or radiotherapy.
The Hungarian League Against Cancer accept the present of complementary medicine in the cancer therapy, but underlined: only together with traditional medicines. The Hungarian League Against Cancer refuse the alternative medicine role in cancer therapy. The Hungarian League Against Cancer can give advice for their members, if they want to use any complementary medicine substance or practices it is their choose, but only together with the cure of traditional medicine and with the supervision of the patients oncologist.
