SESSION 9: ELECTRONIC MAIL

Objectives
1. Learn the vocabulary of electronic mail in English
2. Set up an email account
3. Send emails with attachments, to multiple recipients etc..

Estimated time: Two 50’ minute periods

2. How often do you send emails?
3. If you don’t have an email account, you must set one. There are
free email accounts on the Web.

ACTIVITY 2

EMAIL READING
Emails have a symbol, “@”. In English it is read “at”
EMAIL DICTATION
 Listen to your teacher dictate some email addresses and write
them down

 Dictate your email address to your partner

 Go around the class and ask five or six students to tell you
their names and email addresses. Ask the teacher too. Write
the information on the email list below.

ACTIVITY 3: SEND AN EMAIL
Write a short profile of yourself on a document. Save the document.
Then write an email and send it to the recipients of your list above
(and to the teacher too) so that they don’t know who you are
sending your email to. Attach the document to it.
