Who experience hard sleeping when it's time to sleep ? What are the things would you do so that you can go to sleep ? Do any of you experience losing a parents or family ??? Now Do any of you have experience or seen in real life a village or country torn by a war ???
Characters:
The main Character: * Nguyen Tri Duan - (protagonist) main character, restless and alone in life.
The Story:
Nguyen Tri Duan : Is a twelve years old. She is Vietnamese. She was born in a village called Vinh Long located somewhere in a country torn by the war.
She
is frail, thin, and too small for her age. Her bones show all over her body. And the body is always filthy and smelly, covered with scabies. Her hair is long but messy and smelly.
Tri
Duan is also full of frustration for having to go on living miserably. She feels like having her own life. And she really didn't care how her life will end. SHE IS WILLING TO DIE like her father, mother, sisters and brothers die.

who died was her father three years ago when he accidentally step on a mine while tending the rice field.
After
a few months later her mother was shot by a Vietcong while doing her washing at the bank of the Mekong River.
Then
two of her brothers and sisters died gruesomely and a hand grenade they were playing with exploded in there faces.
Tri
Tri Duan misses her sister very much. The last time they met was some years ago when the sister came back from Saigon on a surprise visit.

Suddenly
there is a deafening sound of guns and artillery. And suddenly it is like daylight. War has come. WAR HAS COME!
But
Tri Duan is not afraid. Neither is she panicky. She just stands there and watches the commotion. She does not even cry . Only her heart beats faster.
A little
girl pulling tri duan by the hand, not letting her go. while running, Tri duan turns her head to have a last look at her old shack, at her rice field, at her pig sty, at her plantation as if to bid FAREWELL.
