    INTRODUCTION
    This trainer has been designed with a view to provi de practical and experimental knowledge of DC chopper .

    FEATURES
    The schematic circuit diagram printed on P.C.B. for all terminals, switches, components and power supplies. All SCR, Triac, Diodes are soldered on single pin tags for easy identification and easy removal for repairing without opening the trainer board. All terminals (2 mm sockets) soldered properly to avoid loose connections.

    SPECIFICATIONS
    1. 2. Power supply requirement : 230V AC, 1 phase 50 Hz.

    Foll owing parts provided on Single PCB with connecting terminals. SCR -1 Nos. UJT -1 Nos.

    Built-in UJT firing circuit for SCR. AC Mains Transformer with step down AC Voltage: 0 -20V/250 mA with auxiliary 0 -20V/250 mA. Standard Accessories : A manual with practical details Connecting Patch cord.

    CHAPTER 1 THEORY OF DC CHOPPER

    EXPERIMENT
    Aim: To carry out understand operation DC Chopper.

    Procedure: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Connect one Digital voltmeter at input DC terminals. Connect Digital voltmeter at output terminals (i.e. across load). Also connect C.R.O. across outpu t terminals. Measure input and output DC voltages. The output Dc voltage will be lesser than input DC voltage. Vary trigger potentiometer and observe that output DC voltage changes. Also observe effect of triggering on ripple in output waveforms o n CRO. Also connect at OSC terminal in UJT triggering section and observe trigger pulse waveforms and frequency at different setting of trigger control pot.

    Concl usi on : The DC-to-DC conversion by Chopper with the help of phase control of SCR using UJT understood.
