PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Blue Ridge Elementary School Seneca, SC Fall 2012- Spring 2013 Practicum Teacher Fall 2012- 2nd Grade I worked with 17 students assisting in guided reading, small group instruction, and planned several inquiry based lessons in Science, Math, and Reading. Student Teacher Spring 2013- 5th Grade Throughout my experience, I worked heavily with 20 students planning daily lessons, teaching primarily reading and math. I implemented many technology-based lessons and utilized the iPad daily. I also created a full unit, long range plans, and several formal lessons. Saluda Shoals Park- Summer Camp Counselor Created and implemented environmental-based lessons, excursions, and activities for second graders African American Childrens Literature Creative Inquiry Two time published co-author of a journal on African American childrens literature America Reads Tutor Focused on reading comprehension and early reading skills with struggling first through third graders at Clemson Elementary School Summer 2010, 2011

Volunteer Activities
Panhellenic Service Trip Las Charcas, Dominican Republic December 2010 I participated in a week long build of a house for a family in poverty with 14 other Clemson students over Christmas vacation. Along with the other participating students, we worked with the community members and submerged ourselves fully into their culture. Delta Zeta Sorority- Community Service Chairwoman Spring 2010- Fall 2011 Organized community service events for my sorority including group volunteer trips to the Oconee County Animal Shelter and highway clean up days through SC Adopt A Highway. Small service opportunities were also organized throughout the year including bake sales and canned food drives to benefit community members.
