2. The Flaming Lips Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Part One The Flaming Lips seem to be telling the story of Yoshimi and how she prepares to battle the pink robots. The song starts with a nice guitar that later gets joined by a drum beat. The voice of the singer goes at a normal but chill pace probably because they are so confided that Yoshimi can protect them from the robots. The synthesizer sounds help with visualizing the robot side of the story. Also the sound of the girl voice in the background also helps with the fact that Yoshimi seems to be a girl.
3. Jenny Lewis Rabbit Fur Coat Jenny Lewis is telling a story about her past and how it affect her future relation with her mother. During the whole song she maintains a low and calm voice that makes me think that what she is saying is very important and personal to her. The instruments follow a simple repeating patter. She also does this with her lyrics as she keeps repeating rabbit fur coat. At one moment she stops to emphasize a word in her song which probably means its a climax of the story.
4. M. Ward Chinese Translation The song is telling the story of this young man looking to fix his broken heart. He seems to try this by connecting with nature in many different aspects. The singer has a smooth voice that leads you during the whole son. Also the song starts with a fast rhythm and then slows down that is always accompany with the guitar.
