on the gender and the number you are talking to.

Examples:
a-

: if you talk to a masculine singular about a masculine singular. But it

also commonly used even when talking to more than one.

b-

: if you talk to a dual singular about a masculine singular.

Ex. When prophet Yoosuf was talking to his two companions in the prison:

Understand The Quraan

In the translated copies of Quraan, the Demonstratives Pronouns for far

distance are sometimes translated to English as if they were for near distance,
as it is not a literal translation but only an interpretation on meaning.
5- The letter

" " in

is called of distance and not a part of the

Demonstrative pronoun.
6- When we do the conjugation for the Demonstrative pronouns, we will
consider the mark

for 9s , the mark for 7=? and the mark

for y7s9'& as the letters

and are only suffixes to the

Demonstrative pronouns not original letters in them.

In line 5
Notice that the demonstrative pronoun

- A plural of a non-human (object or animal) is treated as

- This rule is applied all the time in the standard Arabic but obviously
in the Quran you can see some exceptions for that rule, e.g. the nonhuman plural is treated as a feminine plural in some verses.
