    Because their king didnt let them pray to God as they liked. 2. Where did these people settle down after they left England? Holland 3. What problems did they find there? They were very poor and when their children started to grow up, they became less godlike. 4. What was the name of the ship they set out on for America? The Mayflower 5. What problems did they find on board of the ship? It was crowded, cold, and uncomfortable 6. How long did they sail for? Two months. 7. Who was Squanto? He was a friendly Indian who talked to the pilgrims. 8. What did Squanto teach the pilgrims? How to plant corn, peas, wheat, and barley. 9. why did the pilgrims decide to have a celebration? Because they wanted to thank God for the good harvest, and invite the Indians to share their food. 10. What did they cook for that celebration? Wild ducks and geese; wild dark turkeys; deer meat; bread; cakes; fish and clams. 11. How were the Indians dressed? They wore deer skins and some of them had the furry coat of a wild cat hanging on their arm. Their hair fell loose on their shoulders, and was trimmed with feathers or fox tails. 12.
