    The Freshman Gold Klein Bearkats football team lost their opening game 26-0 against the Katy White team, but there were some bright spots. Corey Brown returned a kickoff 41 yards and ran the ball well all game. On defense, Blaine Paden, Jaylon Pettus with a sack, and Aaron Koterwas all had great tackles. Despite the loss, the team showed heart and there is optimism for the rest of the season.

    Freshman Gold Klein-0 Katy-26

    A new crop of Klein players made their debut Thursday afternoon as the Freshmen Gold team took on a tough Katy White team. Expectations were high going into the game, and the boys played hard. Corey Brown brought back a kickoff to the 41 yard line to start Kleins first possession and ran the ball well throughout the game. On the defensive side of the ball, Blaine Paden, Jaylon Pettus, and Aaron Koterwas all made great tackles, with Pettus racking up a sack on Katys quarterback near the end of the first half. Thomas Reynolds and Gregorio DeLeon also teamed up on a tackle. While it was a disappointing day, ending in a 26-0 loss, theres much to look forward to this season as these boys proved they have heart. Go Bearkats!
