Briana Bosch on Instagram: "Would you convert your lawn to a cutting meadow? A lot of folks said this was their favorite of our projects so far, so just wanted to share a bit about how we got there! When we moved to the farm this area was all weedy, patchy grass that was heavily compacted from being driven over and used as an auto repair area (I’ve dug a whole muffler up in here!). I started with some kraft paper over the top to serve as a barrier because it’s what o had, then topped with regular fill dirt (these mostly native plants don’t need fancy soil)! Oh, and if you want to use fill dirt, we have a whole video about fixing it up over on our YT channel in our bio). Then I started planting my seedlings! I mostly grew from seed to help save money on doing such a big space, and also

One simple tip for growing great Zinnias
“Pinching out” Zinnias is a great way to be sure you get abundant blooms. This technique works for most flowers that branch out but not ones that produce a bloom on a single stem (like Sunflowers) -When your plants reach 8-12 inches, cut the top 3-4 inches just above a set of leaves -Be sure to use a pair of sharp, clean clippers or scissors to avoid damaging the plant
