14K views · 811 reactions | 75_I need your help redesigning this furniture! @bristlesai #furnitureflip #furnitureflippe | By Builditlikebecker | Guess how much I bought this for? Eh you're wrong. It was only $45. Can you believe it? Wow. And now I'm going to flip it. Wow. And need more money. Wow. Let's go. When I saw this thing in Habitat for Humanity I said you're coming home with me. Immediately yes. Immediately. Solid wood mid-century modern dresser with minimal damage. For only $45 someone pinched me. I must be dreaming. Ow David I was just kidding. Shall we? It's a figure of speech obviously. That actually kind of hurt. We did have to make a few repairs to the drawers. Attention. This can be complicated. Bye. Pop. Pop. Pop. Pop. Pop. Pop. Pop. Also, what are you guys doing that's making your dressers this sticky? Actually, don't answer that. I don't want to know. You nasty. Let me show you how to make the cheapest degreaser. Step one, water. Step 2, soap. I'll tell you when to stop. And stop. Perfect. Now, make her all sudsy and get her clean. You gotta clean all the nasty off before you sand. Why? I'm glad you asked. First, because I respect my sandpaper and we're not trying to gunk it all up. Second, I'm not trying to burn it into the wood either. So, just take the precautions early. And remove it. Now, let get to sanding. Now I'm switching to my foam pad so I don't completely obliterate the curved edge. Do not do this without a foam pad. I repeat. Do not do this without a foam pad. It's all about that base. No trouble. God these legs are beautiful. Usually I don't start a project unless I have some sort of idea of what I'm going to do with it. Not this time. We just took the sand or do it. I was hoping it was just going to pop into my head while I was sanding. Boiler. It did not. So before I keep wasting my own time sanding a project I have no idea what I'm doing with yet. Let me see if I can pull a little from bristles. No. Next. No. Next. No. Though I don't hate the idea of a two-tone look. Let me see if I can whip up something similar. Please hold momentarily. And we're back. Here's what I came up with. I don't know if I like it so I came up with another one. And I don't know if I like that so I came up with another one. And I don't know if I like that one either. What would you guys do? Help. I need somebody help. Not just anybody. But until I figure out what I'm doing, I'm just going to keep on sanding. I was hoping I'd figure out a design plan before I had to sand the details but another spoiler alert? I didn't. Thankfully though I found this profile sander in my dad's garage. The man's watched me sand a million pieces by hand and never said we had one of these. How rude. But look at this thing go. Look how tight it is up into that crease. It's beautiful. I'm going to get you corners. Wait stop. Hold on. I got dust in my eyes. Oh my god. Am I blind? Okay now I can see. That wasn't fun. Alright. Back to work. Look what else this profile sander can do. I could actually cry. There will be no hand sanding for me today. Somebody stop me before I sand this entire thing. Oops. I did it. It's all sanded. That was my last drawer. Well I guess I figured out what I'm doing with it. RIP to all my sandpaper. You did great. No I'm not painting it. I just sanded every last inch of that thing. I didn't get dust all up in my eyeballs for nothing. I'm doing a tan wash. I like to mix about 20% paint to 80% water. Or just measure with your heart. Now do a little dip. Brush it on. We're going to be wiping this back immediately. Because we do not want this paint to dry and look all streaky blotchy grossness. So you gotta work quick. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Time is ticking. Now wipe it all back. Direction of the grain. Remove all the excess all of it every single drop. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Now for the final touches. I wanted to keep the original hardware but now they don't match. So let's fix that. But I can't do that until I remove years of built up hand juices off of these handles. Give them a little scrub a dub dub with paint thinner. A little scuff sand. Now let's give them a little paint. What the cut? I fixed that. And now here she is. A diamond. I ended up using Rub and Buff instead of spray paint and I'm never going back. Look how beautiful gorgeous that wood green is. Dave, who's prettier? Me or the dresser? This feels like a trap. Smart man. Hold on. Don't scroll. I'm going to give you the whole tour. Side angle. Boom. Aerial view. Other side angle. Boom. One more time from the front. And you want to know the best part? I have another one. So let me know what I should do with this one in the comments. Should I make it a matching set or go rogue? Tell me

27K views · 1.2K reactions | this buffet table I flipped from marketplace came out unrecognizable and I must say I am in love 🔨🧡 I paid $40 for this table which was in amazing... | By Flip Hut | I'm going to show you how I flipped this $40 buffet table into a luxury 400 masterpiece. I booked it to grab this piece from Facebook Marketplace. It was in such good condition and also just such a blank canvas. I just started off by removing the doors as well as that old hardware. Now I knew that the body was in solid wood but I was like convinced these door fronts were. But I must have done something so nasty in my past life because I burned through veneer on every single piece I do. So we were going to do wood accents but we're just going to paint the whole thing instead. So I scuff everything and just filled a couple dents in with plaster. To give these door fronts a little bit more of a elevated feel, I'm going to add molding to them. Now, the miter saw I have makes these cuts so easy but I am like beyond final destination mindset and I'm always so scared this blade is going to like fly off and slice me in half somehow but we survived this time. So, anyways, now, I'm just gluing down those molding pieces with wood glue and then, going in on the body as well as those doorfronts with a nice coat of primer to get ready for the paint that I'm about to use. Also, always your primer. It makes your paint gone so much smoother. I'm using the all-in-one Mineral Paint by Dixie Belle in the color black sands but when it dries, it's definitely more a blue gray tone but it is what it is. Then, I painted the base in this Dixie Belle Spanish moss color. This is my little hack to get that wood look with just paint. I took this glaze in this wood graining tool and apply my first layer of glaze on top of that paint. Then, you use your wood graining tool and rock it back and forth to give you that faux wood grain. It's going to look crazy but then, once you add another coat of glaze, it comes out looking like a real plain wood which is so cool. I wrapped everything up by putting those doors back on as well as installing this beautiful vintage brass hardware I found on Amazon. Then as just a quick reminder, here is the before and then here are the stunning final results. I like have to give myself this one. I really really did that. The like darker paint with that faux wood grain on top of that brass hardware. It is like the total package. So like I said before I bought this originally for forty dollars and I'm going to relist it for four hundred. So let me know what you guys think and I will see you the next one.

316 reactions · 9 comments | A new look for an old dresser! I sanded off the mahogany stain and applied a Fusion Bellwood green wash to the pretty wood patterns to keep the orangey finish toned down, then I applied a Cappucino sfo stain over it and this dried in a soft light brown. I painted with coal black and highlighted with Pebeo kings gold gilding. #whatsoldisnew #beforeandaftervintage #fusionmineralpaint #downtownwhitby #furnituremakeover | B/A Vintage
