Stone Eye by Laura Wait. Simplified style binding with Harmatan leather. Gold and color tooled. Hand-painted grass design. Endpapers are paste paper by Laura Wait. Richard Taylor, Kentucky's former poet laureate, and Gray Zeitz, letterpress printer and publisher of Larkspur Press, have produced the collection of poetry, Stone Eye. Canadian artist Wesley Bates was invited to cut wood engravings for the book.

Design binding on Erte Maquettes, 1984 by James Reid-Cunningham. Griffen Mill Blue Ledger 80 gm laid paper endsheets decorated with palladium leaf. Leather hinges. Sections sewn on meeting guards. Front bead silk headbands. Aircraft plywood boards. Bound in full black goatskin with tooling in gold and colored foil, and inset panels of Paua abalone. Titled with palladium. Signed on the lower pastedown. Single tray box constructed with decorated Japanese kozo paper & a bone clasp. Bound 2010-2011.

Design Bindings
Les Contes de Ma Mere L´Oye (Tales of Mother Goose) by Charles Perrault. Bound by Scott K. Kellar in 2007. The stories are bright with imagery, natural settings and great foreboding! I have created an image of hidden quiet and balance. Dread of discovery also crouches behind these green stalks.

Federico García Lorca, Poet in New York. Mexico. 1940. Bound in 1995 by José Galván Rodríguez. Mosaic of dark blue, turquoise, blue, mauve, yellow & orange, outlined w/ embossed lines, grouped golden threads & maroon colored stripes. Design is around a central point, an asymmetric structure w/ mauve & red central pieces, both embossed & profiled w/ thick lines. Many triangular structures burst, which widen & become less bright. Leather Case & painted watercolor paper. Silk headbands.
