The Sparrowhead (ムシスズメ?, lit.: "Bug Sparrow") is an enemy found in Hey! Pikmin. It is a relative of the Scornet. It has a round orange body and dark spots on its top. It also has two large insect wings, which allow it to fly. It has black and orange eyes and a narrow beak that it uses to stab Pikmin. It is smaller than Captain Olimar, being about the same width and half of his height.

Behavior[edit]

Sparrowheads generally spawn in groups of at least 2 individuals. They remain off-screen and descend when Olimar and his Pikmin get close. They will then hover in place until they spot a target, indicated by a chirping sound. They will attempt to skewer Pikmin or Captain Olimar by flying into them.

Locations[edit]

Strategy[edit]

Sparrowheads can be defeated by throwing Pikmin onto them when they are within reach, usually right before they attempt an attack.

Notes

Hey! Pikmin logs

They have a rather pesky habit of appearing out of the sky to attack. They're cute up close, though, aren't they? If the S.S. Dolphin II didn't have such an aversion to bugs, I'd want to take it home with me.
