35/2.5 Nikkor for Rangefinder
The 35/2.5 Nikkor, in chrome.
The 35/2.5 was introduced in September 1952, in the typical chrome over brass construction. Very
early examples do not have click stops on the aperture, but this was changed very quickly. In 1956 the
lens was lightened and given a facelift, shedding almost half it's weight, and aquiring a black and
chrome finish.
A very small number of these lenses were sold in the 35/1.8 style, which has the f/numbers engraved around the outside of the chrome ring on the very end of the lens.
Serial numbers range from 243001 upwards, for a total production of about 28,000.
