Second-placed Chelsea look to close the gap on Liverpool when they welcome fellow west London side Brentford to Stamford Bridge this evening (Sunday).

Enzo Maresca’s Blues have been a revelation so far this campaign, losing just two games and sitting on 31 points, four behind the leading Reds, who will still have a game in hand after this weekend thanks to last week's postponed Merseyside derby at Everton.

It was rivals Tottenham who felt the full force of Cole Palmer and Co. last time out, with Chelsea coming away 4-3 victors. More goals can be expected as the Bees, currently sat in ninth, head to their neighbours.

With the top-flight’s two highest-scoring sides set to do battle, any UK-based fans who are without a matchday ticket and are eager to tune in to watch what unfolds will sadly be left disappointed.

Why isn’t Chelsea vs Brentford on TV?

A shock 4-2 victory at home to Newcastle was the last time Brentford were in action, but Chelsea, however, appeared on Thursday against Kazakhstani side Astana – completing a 7000-mile round trip.

This meant the upcoming match was moved to Sunday. However, with two hotly contested clashes in Brighton vs Crystal Palace and Manchester City vs Manchester United taking up the 2pm and 4:30pm slots on Sky Sports, respectively, Chelsea's clash with Brentford landed in one of two rather unusual 7pm slots.

Unfortunately for both sets of fans, broadcaster TNT Sports has chosen the other clash taking place at that time – Tottenham’s trip to struggling Southampton – to be aired instead of Chelsea’s match, meaning fans in the UK are unable to tune in to the action live.

However, this is set to change next season, when all games that aren't scheduled for 3pm on Saturday will be broadcast live in the UK as part of the Premier League's new TV deal.

How to watch Chelsea vs Brentford?

Although UK fans cannot watch the match live, those wishing to tune in outside of the UK can do so via local Premier League TV rights holders. Sky Germany will air the clash, for example.

In the US, NBCUniversal have the rights to all 380 games in the Premier League this season, so fans stateside can watch a game broadcast via their services.

Yet, fans in the UK will be forced to wait until Sky Sports makes highlights of the match available – normally around 20 minutes after the final whistle – which can be viewed online via YouTube. Or they can tune in to Match of the Day 2, which airs at 10:30pm on Sunday and will also have further highlights on BBC One, as well as on BBC iPlayer. Sky Sports will also have extended highlights (a 30-minute showing of the game) later on Sunday evening.
