ITV1’s new game show Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening continues its first season, and in its second episode, things are about to get intensely awkward for a trio of famous faces. This Saturday, prepare for potential parental mortification as Melanie Brown (Mel B), Jonathan Ross, and Richard Madeley join their offspring to test just how well they know their own kids.
The premise is simple enough: parent-child pairs face challenges designed to expose the gaps in parental awareness. With Romesh Ranganathan at the helm, attempting to maintain order while simultaneously appeasing his own ever-watchful mother Shanthi, the stage is set for primetime cringe.
This week’s episode features Mel B with daughter Phoenix, Jonathan Ross with daughter Honey, and Richard Madeley with daughter Chloe. From Mel B’s supposed lack of faith in Phoenix (at least according to Phoenix) to revelations about Richard Madeley’s kitchen habits, no family secret seems safe. One can only imagine the eye-rolls and exasperated sighs emanating from the celebrity offspring as their parents attempt to deal with these potentially embarrassing trials.
Frankly, the real question isn’t who will win but who will survive with their dignity intact. Will Mel B maintain her Spice Girl swagger? Can Jonathan Ross’s trademark wit save him from familial humiliation? And, perhaps most importantly, will we ever look at Richard Madeley in the kitchen the same way again? Tune in to find out.
Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening airs Saturday, November 9 at 9:05 pm on ITV1.
