A project Engineer must be adaptive at all times. Be sure to communicate and be transparent at all times. Having led a number of electrical engineering projects in my experience I have found that in the planning phase it is always crucial to have contingencies in cases of delays especially on tasks affecting the critical path. This will ensure smooth execution of the project

Reasses the situation & discuss with the team . Take their suggestions as to what could be the best way to do as per revised guidelines . Take other stakeholders like vendors , contractors on board . Additional resources might be required & the same shall be allocated . Upfront discussion shall be done with the customer on the rise in costs if there & support required for early clearance of drawings n designs if required . Monitor the times lines strictly & do course correction as n when required . Close coordination of all stakeholder is other key element .

Individually, it's crucial to set boundaries and be aware of our limitations in controlling outcomes. Overpromising can create unrealistic expectations, so ensure commitments are realistic. Reflecting on past experiences helps manage expectations and avoid overextension. Ultimately, practical experience holds more value than making promises that can’t be fulfilled.

in case of delay i question as below Why did it get delayed? How it impacts on the goal? What can be done to reduce further delay? Its obvious that delays happen not by intention, but there can be valid technical reasons. Respect it, understand them, mitigate the impact. Project involves dependency of supply chain.

When the project gets delayed, I would initiate following actions ( Each of the actions below would entail series of activities and smaller actions ) 1) Why the project has got delayed? 2) Is there a breach of regulation ( Health and Safety)? 3) What can be done to mitigate the delays? 4) After mitigation is put in place what is the impact? 5) What can be done to prevent further delays? 6) Prepare a report for client in line with company policies, contractual requirements meeting clients expectations. 7) Update risk register. 8) Put additional controls in place as per the mitigation plan and the report.
