Two youths in Co Cork were arrested on Wednesday after a stolen vehicle they were driving collided with multiple parked cars.

Gardaí in Gurranabraher, Cork were alerted to a road traffic collision on Sunday's Well Road, Cork City, on Wednesday afternoon at around 1pm.

A vehicle, which was previously reported stolen, collided with a number of parked cars. Two youths ran from the vehicle. Gardaí arrested both youths a short distance away.

Both male juveniles were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork City.

One juvenile has since been released without charge, pending a referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Bureau.

The second juvenile has since been charged and is expected to appear before Cork City District Court this morning, Thursday, October 24. A Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
