In 2010 Vardis Marinakis debut feature film Black Field (Mavro Livadi) won 6 awards including 2nd Best Film and best actress in Sevilla FF, 1st Prize in Toronto Inside Out GLBT, Special Jury Award in Mumbai FF- president of the jury Jane Campion, Young Audience Award in Tous Ecrans Geneva FF and Cinematography Award from the Greek Academy. International Premiere of Black Field was in official selection Karlovy Vary Film Festival 2010 and then in official competition in more than 20 film festivals including: Chicago, Palm Springs, Mill Valley, Montpelier, Jerusalem, LA GFF, Rome, Istanbul, Taiwan, Mons, Crossing Europe Linz, Seattle, Toronto QFF, etc.
