Hamosad Hasagur
A hilarious and groundbreaking movie in Israeli cinema. , this film borrows its style from the classic American comedies “Airplane" and "The Naked Gun" to poke fun at the Israeli Mossad and American/Hollywood cinematic clichés.
In the movie, Rami, a daring Mossad agent, is sent to rescue the abducted US ambassador held in the country of Sugyra. If Rami fails, the annual Mossad vacation will be cancelled, an unacceptable consequence of course.
The film stars well-known Israeli actors like Ilan Dar, Eli Gorenstein and Ron Shahar, and was produced with the help of more than 200 volunteers. Having been screened for more than 2 years, it continues to play at the Tel-Aviv Cinematheque as a cult movie seen time and time again. Just like “Rocky Horror”, it has spawned running activities and competitions with its fans reciting the script verbatim having watched the movie more than twenty times in its short history. Winner of the Audience Choice award at the Toronto World of Comedy Film Festival, in addition to being featured in many other film festivals around the world.
Lately, because of the filmÂ’s great popularity, the Israeli Film Fund has decided to support the creation of a full feature.
