Just Shoot Me!: Mr. Jealousy (2002)
Why did the creators allow this show to be ruined
I have been watching the complete series 3 or 4 episodes a week. And I heard that it had dramatically lost ratings the last season(7). Well gosh it sure is evident with the addition of character Vicki(Rene Sofer), was a disaster. I don't know if it is the actress or just the character. But it makes it difficult to try and finish the series. I can not under stand why its like one of the best shows goes from great to total disaster. Maybe the cast resented her because seems like al the acting was strained. There seems like no chemistry. Don't the producers take a look and see it wasn't working. With something this obvious, you would think they could have done something.
Reno 911!: The Hunt for QAnon (2021)
Does any review mention the the QAnon factor.
I am or lets say was. I very good Reno 911 fan. This movie was not funny it was just plain stupid. Very dumb. It was terrible trying to watch it. But most of all making a movie like this even poking fun at. QAnon is putting it out there. I am sure every QAnon member out there watched this and identified even more with their movement. It just validates these people and this movie did it very well. There was nothing good about this movie it was not even funny in any sense like the series at all.
Midnight Mass (2021)
I wouldnt recommend, but some apparently have
Well first of all, I gave this a one because i do not think that I could possibly recommend this to any single person. The reason being; that I cannot think of anyone that I know, who would enjoy this show. That being said, I did watch all the episodes, (Binged it over 5 days or so), and I enjoyed it and did not feel it was a waste of time at all for me. I did not like the endless monologues and sermons. A few throughout the show fine but it went on and an on. I think the writer/s thought they were William Shakespeare, they are not. I have not been in a church in 20 or more years even once. So I guess this more than made up for it to sit though these long drawn out sermons and monologues, that really did nothing to the show other than take up time. Maybe it should have been a short movie. There did seem to be holes in the plot. I really have no idea what you were supposed to take from it. I am an atheist and for all the sermons; I don't even know it was anti religion or pro religion. It had a good story so each episode i wanted more. And it did entertain me. But it's almost like I feel i would be embarrassed to tell anyone that I watched or enjoyed it. I just could not recommend it. It has vampires in it but it doesn't seem like a vampire show. I had horror and gore but didn't seem like a horror show either. The actors were good i suppose I was convinced that they were who they were. They sure knew how to memorize the damn lines. They sure had very long speeches, all the time. I sure don't agree with the reviewer that said it was the best series they have seen. I have to be grateful that I got to watch it on Netflix where the whole season was available as I would never have made it a week to watch the next episode.
Wild Indian (2021)
Not a very good movie.
I'm Baffled by the other reviews some are good some are bad but the stars ratings are in the middle of 5 & 6 no body rates it 10 and nobody rates it 1. Which seems to be in lots of reviews some people have different ideas. I gave it a 2 cause this had nothing much to it. It was a waste of money and time to see this, I wished I had not. One thing I guess, it reflects what our life is like here in the USA. Bad people usually make it through life unscathed, good people get eaten up by the world around. Its does show that. I guess I like the bad guy getting some just reward, in the movies. It makes living life easier. Why is it categorized as a Thriller, I waited and wait for something thrilling to happen some suspense. The music was suspenseful but nothing happened..that put me on edge. I waited and waited for something thrilling to happen. Plus the outside of native peoples homes were in bad shape but inside had low income furniture but even the drunken abbusive people has spotless homes inside.
Hillbilly Elegy (2020)
How could the critics get it so Wrong---best movie i seen in 20 yrs.
I just want to say. From the picture, and the description I had no interest in this, even the title turned me off, the word Hillbilly in it bothered me. I just happed to go to RT and here and saw such a discrepancy between viewers and audience. I was bored thought I would take a look. OMG...I could not believe it, wonderful. I went and bought the book within and hour after seeing this movie. I have not got to the book yet but, as far as the movie goes, I dont understand the Hillbilly thing these people grew up both mother and son. In semi-urban steel town, even the grandmother left the Hills. I grew up in Vermont, and I had relatives that were of the Hills, but I was in a factory town myself. But now live in a steel town near Buffalo NY... this movie truly portrayed the people I have seen around me all my life. Where do the critics come from? Maybe suburban spoiled brats that mommy or daddy got em a job cause the don't know much cause...I just also bought "Promising Young Woman"...and wasted my money and time on the a very stupid movie. The premise was so out of it.
The Argument (2020)
i think they were attempting a Woody Allen movie.....
I had a boring day and i watched this through. It was like a Woody Allen movie in that it had a weird and different premise. But no one in this movie was able pull it off. Cleopatra Coleman was the only actor that was making anything work in it. Also later when the actors came it became slightly entertaining. Really was a waist of time to bother with this. I don't understand where it got the good reviews. Know what go ahead spend some money and watch..go for it.
The Morning Show (2019)
I guess I have to give this a 10...
How I have to review this series. Apple+ i got for a free trial with a new apple product. Its not worth paying for...it like pay 5 bucks a month for the ability to buy some other stuff it hardly offers anything its rent or buy on everything you click on. So anyway in this quarantined life i needed something to spend my time with to kill an hour or so...well...I did six episodes in one sitting and the other 4 the next day. The show was fantastic, it gave portrait of just how complicated these things are. It was just fantastic, I have not seen anything like this in a long long time.
I did not have any background on it i saw Jennifer, Reese, and Steve as stars though oh a sweet mindless comedy and I enjoy comedies so I will watch. And it took me by storm.
I am not a Jennifer Aniston fan as far as being a great actress. Her character Rachel Green was so terrible it made me want to vomit. I had to set through many episodes of Friends just because it was supposedly the best show on TV (sorry not in my opinion) and everyone i knew had to stop everything and watch it. I still don't know if i would call her a great actress. I mean like Bette Davis, Glenn Close, Cate Blanchett, Jane Fonda - type real wonderful actresses. But she is entertaining,,,,she just has one thing she does well Rachel/Jennifer that is it but it was perfect for Alex. Don't get me wrong Jennifer is wonderfully entertaining which is what we usually want from someone presenting entertainment.
But anyway this was so incredible. I have always despised those morning foolish news shows with Hoda - Jenna- Gayle Kathy Lee- and the such. Even more so now we have had this pandemic and supposedly only essential workers were to were. But this was inexcusable, these were not essential in any means. So this series shows just how it is.
It was perfect..It was entertaining it was exciting.. it let me feel good that others understand that there is a lot more to the this topic, that people do not want to talk about.
Into the Wild (2007)
Ummmmmm...glorifying someones mental illness and making no reference to it.
This person maybe spoiled rich kid. But the extent that he went to appears he has a dissociative disorder call a Fugue State....he ended up losing his life from it. I did not read the book but the fact that the glamorizes this as an adventure and a brave man on some sort of quest. That is not very honorable. But then again Sean Penn.....well again........?????
Ray Donovan: Horses (2017)
The worst most unrealistic show ever
If you had a rating of Zero I definitely would have given a zero rating. First of all in the previous season she had breast cancer that went away, so what was this cancer all about. That song about horses, it was totally horrible to listen to. The season has been a waste of time up until now, I have not watched the next episode yet but hopefully we can get on with the show. Ray's character has cheated on her, even as she is dying, he deals with it by sleeping someone. But he has treated Abby like crap for years. So why would he be so sad? Not even plausible for fiction. He's carrying on still. The season so far has been bad. Plus that is not the way people die, of coarse no movie or show death is like the way truly people die (I am a RN). This whole episode was completely unrealistic and over the top melodramatic. I have no idea why it got so many good reviews, but then again this is the USA.
For Your Consideration (2006)
i am just surprised by all these positive ratings.
yes; I do believe we all like different things. I found this movie boring and waited for something funny to happen. Well it never did. Took me two days to watch the DVD. I had invited friends over to watch it. I had enjoyed best of show so very much but this movie just went on and on with frivolous nothingness. There was so much room for a chance to get a laugh here and there. Having Ricky Gervais in this was unreal, he does this show oh HBO and all of a sudden he is in everything, playing exactly the same character, all the time. He can just go back to England he is a nasty boy. And as for our Catherine O'Hara was not even funny, she had no outrageousness that she usually exhibits. This was a bad movie to me. A waste of time and money. When I purchase something like this and realize that my hard earned money is contributing to people that make something this bad. I wish there was a way to get your money back.
Relative Strangers (2006)
well this one gets a 10
A 10 for a comedy. Yes a wonderfully delightful film. Danny DiVito and Kathy Bates were fantastic. It was a movie that took a wonderful look at the snobs in this world and how in reality most of us have people in our families that are more like the Manure's. I sure do, and yes sometimes I am a little embarrassed. But when i comes down to it. They are the genuine most loving people and the ones that truly stand by you. I can not believe how wonderful Kathy Bates was and what an actress she is that she can do so many different parts. What a hoot she is. I had a bunch of people over and we watched this video and we went out of our minds laughing and I have not had a laugh like this in a long time and did it ever feel good. I do not know why this was not out in the theaters more. They should run it again through the theaters. I have got to say it was wonderful and a truly must see film. Neve Cambell and Ron Livingston were sweet but it was really the rest of the cast that stole the show and I mean they stole it. I do not know who these ones that gave it a bad review are but, then again I saw lots of great reviews for "For Your Consideration" and that one hardly had a chuckle. And Beverly D'Angelo I did not even know who she was, and she was great. So was Christine Baranski, and this time she was so good with just letting you know with her facial expressions.
The Boomer Century (2007)
a wonderful documentary.... a must see...but it forgot me......
I got to watch this documentary last night and i was impressed. the only thing that i find impressive was that the show defined the boomers as people born between 1946 and 1964 though i think that there is much contention on this, as some will say to me that i am not a boomer and i was born in 1955 or I am a tail end boomer, though most of them say I am not a boomer, but the show says it goes all the way to 1964, yeah okay. But I do think the show was about the ones in at least the first 8-9 yrs. I did not take into account of the people coming of age in the beginning of the 70's the ones that followed the initial on slot of boomers. You had Rob Reiner talking about not having TV when he was born, most of us did have it when we were born. Vietnam was over when we left High school. When we left college it was not opportunity galore as it was for those in the 60's. As most companies were laying off people (unemployment in the late 70's remember?) and no-one trusted young inexperienced people to work. The big statement was the boomers are turning 60. 10 yrs ago it was the boomers are turning 50, but here were are this forgotten part of the boomer generation (hey they were still having lots of kids then, we had to go to mobile class rooms), the sub boomers, the ones that got the scraps. We were not even mentioned in this documentary. But it was a wonderful documentary to watch, having always lived in the shadows and always being forgotten.
You, Me and Dupree (2006)
very dull, and few laughs
I looked at my watch during this movie, as i was bored and realized i was at a comedy and one hour had passed and not even a chuckle had come out of me.
The situation seemed like there could have been so much to be done with it. Later in the movie i was able to laugh, it was cute when he came out of the house. While on a date. Michael Douglas an extremely fine actor and i assume a wealthy man, why was he doing something like this? I suppose they don't know how bad it could be until it gets completed. He did not even seem believable as Kate Hudson's father.
i advise you to wait until you can see it at a cheap theater.

Proof (2005)
oh a pleasant surprise
Went to the movies and was going to see something else but it was playing later than we thought. and so we saw 'Proof' Oh my. Had read some other comments before and thought gosh if this is all Gwyneth and i even told my partner that Hopkins has a small part. Well these made me feel like it was not worth it but it was wonderful Hopkins, Davis and Paltrow all were excellent...a must see movie really......... Gwyneth is really the main character. That she was what the movie was all about; no! Hope Davis was someone that I left the movie completely hating the character. I guess that means she did the part so very well and was convincing. Makes me wish that people like her character would not exist but sadly I know they are everywhere that is why they are written about. I tell you to go and see it. Well worth it..
