michaelmontero
Back in school Montero was a big athlete; excelling in basketball, football, boxing and other sports. In his late teens he found music and started producing underground mix tapes. He would go on to run a home studio and stay heavily involved with music into his mid twenties; independently producing and distributing three albums with his brother and other underground artists...
At 18 Michael decided to serve his country and became a United States Marine. Following the completion of his military duty, he began a career in the financial industry and quickly excelled there. In 2005 he stumbled upon acting and instantly fell in love, often referring to it as his "therapy"...
Although he got off to a late start, Montero has made a lot of noise in a short time - having booked speaking roles on television shows like "Army Wives" and "Tyler Perry's House of Payne". He has trained with notable instructors such Mark Sikes and Wayne Dvorak of Los Angeles, among others. In 2008 he tried his hand at writing and produced a short film entitled "Demons for Angels", which was selected for several festivals...
Today Michael resides in Los Angeles, where he pursues acting full-time.

This Laowai really enjoyed it!
I actually saw this movie during a flight to Shanghai and really enjoyed it. Award winning Chinese actress/singer Zhao Wei makes her directorial debut in "So Young" and does a fine job. Most of the actors are newcomers, which I found refreshing. Lead female Yang Zishan's performance was great and I expect she will be a successful working actress for years to come.
I won't write any spoilers or plot lines, but only say that this film simply deals with life - friendships, relationships, love, loss, the decisions we make in our youth and how those decisions shape our adult lives. These things are universal; one need not be Chinese to enjoy this picture. As an American, I found it to be wonderful.
