Shigatsu wa kimi no uso (2014)
One of my favorite sad anime...
The reason for my 9/10 instead of a 10/10 is because this was spoiled slightly for me, I urge you if you haven't seen this series, GO WATCH IT IMMEDIATELY BEFORE READING ANYTHING ABOUT IT, TRUST ME!!! you have been warned
Wow, just, wow. How can something so completely awesome exist? I mean, its the only show with lips!!! Anyway, this show is a near masterpiece, it would be one if i hadn't been spoiled on it. The characters were developed beautifully, and the shows external message got across just fine. The music, OH GAWD THE MUSIC. It is chalk full of classical remixes, originals, and classics. Just figures when you make a show ABOUT music, you have great music. The story is one of the best points of this show, aiming to make you cry within its first arc! I swear, if you didn't come near to tearing up, you have no soul. Coming from A- 1 pictures, you know its going to be beautiful, they ARE the ones behind Kill la Kill and Anohana. OVERALL: One of the best anime from the 2000's - 2010's.
Ano hi mita hana no namae o bokutachi wa mada shiranai. (2011)
I think we found her....
Omigosh, whoa, that was a roller coaster. I personally don't recommend a try not to cry challenge, like i did, as it limits the fun value of this show. Anyway, Anohana! This anime is beautiful. that ending is just (This section has been blocked by my better judgment, and spoilers)! Its an anime that I get chocked up at from watching the opening cinematic! The characters develop beautifully, the story is, while slow at times, otherwise well paced, and it leads up to that final 2 episodes, Anaru gets harassed and some serious stuff is about to go down |Next time on Dragon Ball Z.... jeez this things finicky.
Overall: Go watch this anime, its really great, its only 11 episodes and I did the math, it only takes bout 4 hours to binge, i did it, so can you!
Toradora! (2008)
Great Anime, Lackluster ending...
This is going to be a relatively short review, mainly because I don't have much to say. As youtuber Glass Reflection says often, "The ending is paramount," something that applies wholeheartedly to this series. This anime has an amazing cast of characters, mostly 2 dimensional, that develop very nicely, but the ending SPOILERS!!! mashes it completely. The anime should be watched through, and if you want closure further than the series goes, then look up the Toradora video game ending. If your still not satisfied, make up a realistic ending, like I did. The shows OPs are both great songs, but OP 1 is better in my opinion. OVERALL: Great story that leads to a lackluster ending where the mine cart of buildup falls down a pit.
Told you it would be a short one.
Chuunibyou demo koi ga shitai! (2012)
Somehow kept me wanting MOOOOORRREEEE!!!!!!
So, where do I begin. Lets start with the reason for my rating. Though not very stellar in the first 2 or 3 episodes, episode 7 is about where it gets good. The synopsis is your typical romance anime, with a weird twist. Remember when you were in first grade and thought you were some powerful being or something like that. Well that is what 14 year old Rikka Takanashi has, they call it Chunibyo. The other main had this condition too, 14 year old Yuuta Togagochi, but he outgrew it and deems it as "embarrassing" So, then the embarrassing part for me, the age rating and parents guide.
SEASON 1: Age rating: 12 or 13+
I'm actually 11 and watched this with my friend, so if your particular mature, go ahead, but be warned. The first season contains mild innuendo's, and a lot of romance. I'm pretty sure there are some mild lesbian matters, though not very much. Mild violence toward the main girl character. Mild swearing.
SEASON 2: Age rating 13 or 14+
Sooooooo, what exactly happened to gain an extra year? Welp, there is a lot more *ahem* "ACTION" between the two mains. MAJOR SPOILER!!! The main guy has a dream about, (This is so embarrassing) about his girlfriend main in bed naked with him, presumably about to get it on in his dream (*Internal struggle*) this may be upsetting to younger viewers, especially because they are 14. SPOILER!!!:one of the supporting characters has a dispute that leads to meeting a girl online who is DEFINITELY... interested in HER. Same mild violence toward the main girl. SPOILER!!! There is a love triangle between mains, but seeing as the seasons name is "Heart Throb," it makes sense. There is EXTREME blushing, if that's a problem for you. Still same mild swearing.
Conclusion: So....... WATCH THIS ANIME IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVEN'T. This is a very sweet anime. It is soooooo good, MAJOR SPOILER!!!!!: I find the pairing of Yuuta and Rikka sooo adorable, they work so well off each other! Each season is 12, 22 minute episodes, adding up to 24 episodes, with 1 filler episode per season. The only problem is, even after the second season, I WANT MORE!!! I wanna see some like 10 years later stuff to wrap up in a nice little bow, though the ending was sweet enough. I could talk about this anime for a looooooong time, but i'm limited to 1,000 words!!! So there is so much I haven't even touched. All I can say is...
...WATCH IIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
