Oppenheimer (2023)
It might be a perfect movie.
Oppenheimer was everything I wanted it to be and more. The three-hour run time is very warranted. Not only does it, not waste time. It shows you the realistic experiences of what the makers of the bomb and, most importantly, J Robert Oppenheimer went through making this. You don't have to like this movie if it's not your cup of tea, but if you say it is terrible, you are either straight-up stupid or insane. This is easily one of the best films of the year. If not the best, we will soon see, but I doubt it. This might not be my favorite Nolan film, but it might be his best and most Oscar-worthy. With a $100 million budget, this puts Disney to shame with all these effects being practical and something like Dial of Destiny being a lot of CGI. Please see the film, and you won't regret it.
The Thin Red Line (1998)
One of the best movies ever made.
The Thin Red Line is everything I wanted it to be. A compelling story of soldiers in a terrible situation. The main character that Jim Caviezel plays is the spirit of the story. He is a character that sees a character that hopes for a better world that's beyond Earth. Sgt Welsh played by Sean Penn is watching over him and contending with him that there is only this world that exists. They have an interesting relationship throughout the movie that is compelling and it makes you question their motives. This story is about every soldier that served in the battle of Guadalcanal. The movie has voiceover throughout the movie that has soldiers meditating on the war and questioning if it is necessary or just a foolhardy mission. It has other relationships throughout the movie that represent everything about the emotions of war. The other relationship is between Captain Staros and Lt. Col Tall. Tall will do anything to win this battle even if that takes sacrificing soldiers. Staros contends with Tall and gives his position that he doesn't believe sacrificing soldiers is good. The next relationship is between Pvt. Bell played by Ben Chaplin and Marty Bell played by Miranda Otto. While Bell is in war, his wife Marty is struggling to either separate from him or marry another man. It's really heartbreaking whenever we discover the truth. The movie is wise to show the perspectives of everyone including the Japanese soldiers who the U. S. is fighting. We all forget to understand the other side. The Japanese soldiers were just like us. Fighting a pointless war winning or losing. But what makes this movie so incredible is Terrence Malick making this movie as genuine as possible. It has his style of philosophical tones but it isn't overused like his other movie from 2015 Knight of Cups which was by far his worst film and the only film I have never liked from his. The first part of the movie is getting to know all of the characters well and understanding the situation that awaits them. The middle portion is them in the action, there is about 50 minutes of pure warfare but the next part is them reflecting on the matter that they have just went through. The movie then picks up and gives us one of the best deaths in movie history. Jim Caviezel dies letting his company successfully get away because they are outnumbered. It really shows how his characters tale is his accepting of fate. Every single bit of acting in this movie is incredible. The story is phenomenal and grand. The movie looks amazing. The action scenes are amazing and look as if you are watching the exact battle that took place in WWII. Its one of my favorite movies of all time and I am going to give it an A+ and a scale of a 9.5. Please see this movie it is worth your time.
Little Heroes: Rescue Squad (2018)
Worst Show I've ever seen
Absolutely Useless. Makes Superbabies 2 look good.
The Godfather Part II (1974)
If there is a "Greatest Movie of All Time," this would be it.
Where do I start, Godfather 2 is the most incredible movie I have ever seen. It takes. Michael Corleone, one of the main Characters of the first Godfather and totally makes him one of the greatest characters. We see young Vito Corleone, "Michael's father" in flashbacks, we see Vito's actions compare to Michael's actions. Vito always valued Michael more than any of his sons because he was willing to listen and not question authority. Plus he was also a Marine which made him a better thinker and more qualified for the job. At the end we see how ruthless Michael can be and he will do anything for the family. I am giving this movie a 10, but no movie is perfect so it gets a 9.99% for me. SEE THIS MOVIE, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Where do I start!
This film is disturbingly bad.
The first scene was actually not bad and action packed and it kind of gives direction on how Diana Prince came to be. The next scene and the scenes after until we get close to the end are all disturbingly bad, THERES BARELY ANY ACTION, one action scene after the first scene was good yet extremely cheesy. The scenes after this are so exhausting to watch and something extremely random happens that is totally blown out of proportion that it just happens like a Deus Ex Machina. The two antagonists are very unconvincing and have incredibly stupid motives, one antagonist thinks that they don't belong anywhere but who is getting treated well at every turn at the beginning and the middle.
Only good things are the cast, fairly good performances from Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and especially Pedro Pascal: The Mandolorian himself. Overall this movie gets a grade of a D+ and once again, the only redeeming quality's are the cast.
Schindler's List (1993)
Might be the best movie I've ever seen
This might be the best movie I've ever seen. It's funny sometimes but really it isn't if you think about it. Amon Goeth is so hatable and Oskar also is in the beginning but in the middle and end he's the best ever. It will break your heart and the acting is incredible. It's a crime that Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson haven't won an Oscar. See this I beg of you.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007)
Amazing: One of my favorites
Oh my god it was so unbelievably good, I don't understand why people hate it so much. Its not oscar worthy but its just one of the most fun movies you will ever see, its got one of the best soundtracks of all time. So please just see it
