A Difficult Woman (1998)
A Difficult Woman
Caroline Goodall flounces about sweet-talking a corpse, spouting medical jargon, and mistakenly believing that the most emotive acting involves staring into people's eyes without blinking, a feat that she is really skilled at. Add to that an unstructured plot that is confused as to whether it is a medical drama, a feminist polemic against men with power, or a hunt for a serial killer, and you end up with a mess!
Don't waste your time on this badly written, badly acted production.
Collateral Beauty (2016)
comfy chair
The film is cringe-worthy, the script so cloying, such a saccharine syrupy mess that my teeth hurt. I have never before seen such a supremely talented cast acting in a bomb of a film like this one. Helen Mirren! Will Smith! Fire your agents for suggesting such rubbish. Kate Winslett - why do you appear so pale and drawn? - is it because you realized it was just too late to get out of the contract? I found the only enjoyable thing about viewing this film was the state-of-the-art chair with footrest, that I viewed it from. Its comfort was certainly worth the six bucks I paid for two hours of use, but headphones with soothing music would have been a welcome addition.
