Joker: Folie à Deux (2024)
It wasn't as a bad as people are claiming it to be.
It wasn't as a bad as people are claiming it to be.
The musical parts didn't really threw me off guard cause I knew what I was walking into.
It's a good visual movie but feels forced, Joker 2019 didn't needed a sequel!
The acting was very good yet I wasn't a big fan of Lady Gaga's character cause it felt like she didn't really needed to be in this movie or had anything special to bring to the table. Besides from her characters name and popularity.
It has more potential but it was a average comic book movie and not the worst one.
Got some rethinking to do, gotta be around a 7.
Go see it for yourself.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
Furiosa is an absolute thrill ride, with jaw-dropping action, a kickass female lead, and visuals that will leave you breathless!
From start to finish, Furiosa is filled with heart-pounding action sequences, breathtaking visuals, and a captivating storyline. Anya Taylor's performance as Furiosa is nothing short of incredible, showcasing her strength, determination, and vulnerability. The film's post-apocalyptic setting is brought to life with stunning cinematography and jaw-dropping practical effects.
The intense chase scenes and thrilling battles will keep you on the edge of your seat. Furiosa is a modern action classic that deserves all the praise it has received. Don't miss out on this epic adventure!
You should see this one the biggest screen possible!
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)
Ghostbusters is a lot of fun but has its problems with keeping its momentum and its logical consistency
I do believe that the main goal for a Ghostbusters movie is to have fun, and this one achieved it well! Even though the storyline is a bit off a mess.
It actually starts off pretty good with a nice introduction of what the movie will be about. But they lose their eye on the bigger picture and are focusing too much on the side stories that aren't that interesting.
It's a movie made for each generation with a lovely cast and great CGI. I was pretty entertained, and if you've loved the previous ones, you'll be having that fun as well!
Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did or even moreee!! :)))
The Soviet Sleep Experiment (2019)
An urban legend told right! It's very unique, has its own style combined with an interesting storyline.
"An urban legend told right! It's very unique, has its own style combined with an interesting storyline."
They showed the evolution of humans in captivity here. It was so interesting and well played by the actors! The way they changed personalities throughout the length of it was impressive.
It's a closed and small-budget set, yet that didn't bother me at all. The way they used it is good, and that's more important.
It's an overall good and interesting movie. Yes, it has its flaws, but it also has its charms.
I never really knew anything about this experiment or the urban legend behind it but now I'm interested!
Dune: Part Two (2024)
A masterpiece in many ways and it's everything you want from a sequel!
The storyline was so powerful and wasn't dragged out like it was a bit with the first one. Here every scene felt so important and the dialogue is so impactful and inspiring!
Character development can sometimes be a bit tricky with movies who are dealing with a lot of characters yet here they handled it wonderful! The main and supporting characters each had something to bring to the table!
Editing, score, cinematography, acting... all perfect! Also I saw it in IMAX which made it way more better so I have nothing but good things to say about this masterpiece! I recommend this on the biggest screen possible!
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
Jason & Patrick are having so much fun yet the movie itself isn't going along with that mindset...
I went in with not that many expectations, I knew the first one was great but I also knew this was like a leftover for the DCEU and the last one. And I felt that.
The movie itself felt so rushed and undone, the CGI of underwater scenes were so low compared to the first one and the fighting scenes and choreography were so short and unfulfilled. They went in & out on the biggest missions so fast and easily like it didn't even bother them.
One of the biggest parts about a superhero movie it it's villains and they are so important and lately they tempted to forget about that even in this one, they really did the "main" villain so dirty.
Mainly the humor was actually good and I had a good couple of laughs with it but that didn't so the rest justice.
Screwdriver (2023)
A psychological thriller with a lot of tension combined with intense emotions and conversations.
A psychological thriller with a lot of tension combined with intense emotions and conversations.
The way that the manipulation, paranoia and betrayal was brought out during it's runtime was actually scary.
With the use of close up camera shots they really made you feel connected towards Emily but it missed its tone with the other characters.
With a bit more screen time they could've built up Robert and Mellisa backstory and chemistry a bit more.
It does have some weird and overlapping storylines but that's what made this film so special but hard to follow at times.
This movie feels very unique and was so interesting to follow.
If you are a fan of a more tensional and emotional thriller flick, this will suit you!
The Marvels (2023)
Marvel keeps forgetting the seriousness in their world ending movies and replacing them with funny contents...
First off all I went to see this one without any expectations cause I had no idea what was coming cause I've only seen one trailer and they showed a lot of OG Avengers flashbacks and after seeing this I'm still clueless on why they did that tbh...
Yet Kamala Khan delivers throughout this movie but the rest is disappointing... It feels like Brie Larson didn't wanna be there and the villain is just there cause they needed one i guess.
Marvel keeps forgetting the seriousness in their world ending movies and replacing them with funny contents not sure why they keep doing that but it's a buzz kill!
The plot holes were bigger than the Universal Neural Teleportation Network (or jump points) they used and the humor was more cringe than anything else... Except for Kamala's connection and heartwarming bond with her family they built that up really nicely in her show and this movie!
A few great IMAX shot's in space tho and most of the visuals were nice and well done.
The Exorcist: Believer (2023)
Don't try and compare this to the original, you'll be disappointed!
The Exorcist: Believer follows the iconic horror film that has stood the test of time. Released in 1973. The sequel tells the chilling story of a 2 young girls possessed by a demonic entity. The movie is as it predecessor known for its intense and terrifying scenes, as well as its exploration of faith and the battle between good and evil.
The performances in The Exorcist are outstanding, particularly of the 2 possessed girls. The portrayal of the demonic possessions are both disturbing and captivating. The makeup and special effects used to bring the possessed to life are impressive.
The Exorcist is not for the faint of heart. It's filled with shocking and unsettling moments that will leave you with goosebumps. The jump scares are a bit to predictable yet a few had me skip a heartbeat for a minute.
If you enjoy supernatural horror and don't mind being scared out of your wits, The Exorcist is your type of movie. Just make sure you set the vibe right and dare to see it on the big screen.
Meg 2: The Trench (2023)
Meg 2 does not deliver!
The opening editing style was so not my vibe.
I also wasn't a fan of the first act and the built up towards the main storyline.
It's not rushed or anything it just doesn't make any sense, things are happening cause they need to happen.
Like Jonas (Jason) says throughout this movie: we work the problems one by one should've been the moto of this film.
The giant Megalodon's are the most comment sense in this movie.
I know it's about giant sharks and all but everything around those sharks didn't even made any sense.
Jetski's outrunning sharks is just a small example of that..
I wasn't even a second in suspense throughout these 2 hours...
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
Tom Cruise running is still one of the best things about this franchise
Ow boy do i love the Mission Impossible franchise!
The stunts are still so impressive and a pleasure to look at, knowing most of them were done by Tom himself.
The casting choices are as always on point and actors are nailing the characters perfectly.
But let's talk about the best thing about this movie, it's definitely the use of sound.
Music is a big part of how you can feel a movie scene and Mission Impossible always delivers on that part!
The tension they built up and how they deliver it on screen is just amazing.
Ethan Hunt is still the best spy on the big screen, i stand with that!
Barbie (2023)
Barbie discovers the not so perfect world.
It's weird yet fun movie! It keeps getting better by the minutes, had a good portion of fun but also a few emotional moments.
It's not made for everyone but try and keep a clear mind while watching it!
The casting choice were sublime and each Barbie, Ken and even Alan nailed there performances.
The few cameos were also pretty fun, and with a lovely touch at moments.
Some scenes were a bit dragged out but because of the characters it kinda felt like i was okey with it.
It has it ups and downs but it was mostly entertaining and i think that was it's main goal and they succeeded in that.
If you are a Barbie fan you'll definitely have a blast!
The Flash (2023)
The Flash is a lot of fun but nothing out of the ordinary!
A fun ride throughout the multiverse but nothing out of the ordinary!
The Flash is a fun watch and has some great comedian scenes but it has it's problems.
I'm not fully convinced by the CGI, character developments and didn't really felt bounded with it's characters.
The hand on hand & chasing scenes on the other hand were wonderful and so great to see on the big screen, the third act action scenes were more of a mess and hard to follow. The same goes for it's storyline it's so overloaded with fan service and the introduction of characters that it becomes hard to follow.
The Flash is a overall good movie but not the best DC one yet as being said by the critics.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
Discover the Spiderverse in the biggest way and most wonderful way possible!
This is whiteout a doubt peak Spider-Man and even peak cinema!
Every scene in this animation movie was as good as perfect! The coloring, animation, character designs, music and the way they used the Spider humor was so funny and well timed!
Bonding with character hasn't been as easy as it is here, they really explore the backgrounds of the different characters so emotional and passionately at the same time.
It's a necessary darker & more emotional storyline for the characters but that's just how Peter Parkers storyline is...
It's a 2h20 movie but there wasn't one scene that I would've left out, I would've even preferred for it to go at almost 3h cause I wasn't a huge fan of the ending! You'll know when seeing it!
There are so many Easter eggs & Spider-man's it to crazy for words!
What more can i say than this is a masterpiece and probably the best Spider-Man movie to date!
The Little Mermaid (2023)
Love is built on passion and chemistry, the heart and soul of this movie!
The little mermaid live-action remake review:
It's a beautiful movie but not a perfect adaptation.
But that's not necessarily a bad thing, it use's it's own creative ways to set this movie differently from the original. Don't think about this one as a adaptation but rather as a standalone Disney picture!
The better parts were above sea and not under the sea as Sebastian implies...
The scene transitions were so clean and well done in a lot of ways, a visual pleasure.
I'm still from the point of view that Disney films should be short and powerful and not long and dragged out.
Love is built on passion and chemistry, the heart and soul of this movie!
Fast X (2023)
Action packed with a empty storyline
F & F isn't a F & F movie without them sitting at a table together at some point during the movie.
Even tho it didn't really felt like a F & F movie the family part still sticks out but the racing part is completely gone... and even when there was a racing scene they screwed it over...
The storyline itself was very pacing but that isn't always a good thing.
It felt like they randomly skipped from scene to scene and somehow had to connect most of the dot's at the end and that felt rushed!
Also not a fan of the ending.
The movie itself has very much carried by Jason Momoa! He nailed every second of screen time! Also John Cena & Alan Ritchson were the highlights of this movie.
It's a overall enjoyable blockbuster with a lot of action but with a empty storyline. It was what I expected, but better than the previous one.
6.5/10.
The Flash: It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To (2023)
The return of the hood!
The Flash Season 9 Episode 9 non spoiler review short review:
The hero I thought i'd never see again on screen returns in a big way!
As a standalone episode this is definitely one of the best in the series, it's just a shame of what we got the last couple of years!
I cried of few times throughout this one cause after all these years i kinda bonded with these characters and seeing Stephen returning as Arrow for a final time with a prober goodbye to his character was so emotional and knowing it's the very last episode of The Flash also didn't help...
The acting was plot was actually for the first time really good and convincing and not boring at all!
Evil Dead Rise (2023)
Pays homage to the original but in a creative, new and fresh way!
Pays homage to the original but in a creative, new and fresh way!
The Use of camera work was a class of art but scared the hell out of me!!
The tension was insane and the sounds were overall creepy and especially loud!!
The acting was superb and so realistic i do believe that if i met Alyssa Sutherland in real life i'd still have some flashbacks towards her Evil Dead performances......
I'm curious to see if this one will get a sequel but I'm pretty sure it will cause I really enjoyed watching this one, it's been a while since i've seen a good horror movie in cinemas lately!
Hope you'll enjoy it as much as i did!
Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023)
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a fun ride but has it struggles forming a emotional and bonding storyline!
The movie itself is trying to lean on a family is important kinda storyline but i didn't really felt the chemistry between the children with each other or there "parents".
Going in this one i was kinda worried about how they'd handle the humor side of it but they did a fair job, some cringe like jokes but mostly really good and well placed!
You could really feel that the older versions of themselves are actually still child minded with the way they are handling situations or specific moments.
It's been a while since i've seen a good villain with a powerful motivation and background in a superhero movie and i'm still waiting on one... The sisters weren't that iconic or well written...
Shazam! 2 isn't DC top pier or anything special, it's mostly just a fun superhero movie.
Now i can say with confidence that 4DX isn't really my thing, i am a fast distracter and all the elements that comes in to play with the moving chair, water sprinkler, wind turbines, etc etc... kept me from focusing fully on the movie itself!
Creed III (2023)
Some movies do hit different in cinemas and Creed III is one them!
Some movies do hit different in cinemas and Creed III is one them!
The inspiring and emotional story that is Creed III!
.
The emotional background they showed in Creed III really established a breathtaking fight between Adonis Creed and Damian Anderson!
.
The fighting choreography was really amazing to watch, especially the final fight! You could feel the tension and history between the 2 contenders!
.
Some moments of Damian's boxing evolution were kinda rushed and way to coincidental to believe... but his fighting style really fitted the character he was playing and Jonathan Majors really nailed it! As did the full cast!
.
Thanks for reading!
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
A beautiful visual experience with a storyline told for it's future!
A beautiful visual experience with a storyline told for it's future!
It's a absolutely spectacle, sit back and enjoy the stunning visuals this movie represents.
The use of CGI was flawless and that truly helped with the great character development each character had.
Chapter one felt like a documentary, a trip throughout the wonderful world that is Pandora.
The close ups were used perfectly, and brings you so much closer towards the action scenes!
Some kills were horrific and not really for the younger audience and more brutal than in the first one...
The storyline was a big dragged out but important for it's storyline and the future of the Avatar movies.
I truly enjoyed the full 3h this movie had to represent!
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
The respect they gave Chadwick was so wonderful to see 🖤
The respect they gave Chadwick was so wonderful to see 🖤 but the mixed and a dragged out storyline didn't really do the job for me. But the visuals were good but to dark at times... Every Namor scenes felt like a wasted one, I didn't really care about his character or storyline sadly enough. I did enjoyed it at time but it didn't really had the vibe i was looking for...
The acting was once again like always very good and well executed! Every Actor knew what to do with his character and how to bring it over to the big screen!
I really wanted to like it but it kinda missed out on me... hopefully when i'll see it again it'll be way better!
The Curse of Bridge Hollow (2022)
Silly and fun!
A typical Marlon Wayans movie!
A no brainer with the correct amount of humor and pretty stupid yet funny at times.
Enjoy it and don't be to criticizes, that's the most important part i think to fully enjoy this one...
Marlon Wayans and Priah Ferguson are really a awesome duo and i'm here to see of them together on screen!
Also the CGI was pretty solid here and did not disappoint at all!
After seeing this i am truly ready for Halloween and it putted me right in the mood to go out and collect some candy and dress up and see other people doing the same thing!
Happy Halloween everyone and enjoy it as much as you can!
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Tom does it again!
The tensions were high, the stakes even higher and The jet fighters needed to stay low! One hell of a movie! So glad we got this sequel in the nick of time.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: Papa (2022)
Stranger Things chapter 8 non spoiler first thoughts;
Stranger Things is back and it's better than ever.
It continuous it's perfect storyline with amazing acting and wonderful and chilling moments. This episode defines the beginning of the end!
