Generation Kill (2008)
Unique drama and worth watching!
This show is simply worth watching. It takes a creative and well written show with good actors to hold my attention; this show does it for me! It's very raw and shows everything you need to believe the story being told. If you are into military and suspenseful shows with no regard to political correctness- you should watch it. It is done well! The acting is on point. The characters are diverse. There is blood, there are tears, there is laughing, and there is drama. It is very believable. I enjoy seeing a group of diverse characters, as opposed to a bunch of angry bloodthirsty soldiers. They all fall somewhere in between being patriotic and understanding their place in the war and just seriously wanting to kill someone.There is interesting insight into the dynamic of the Marines vs the Army. It appears (based on other reviews by Marines) that it is pretty accurate. WATCH IT!
Nightmare Next Door (2011)
So disrespectful and tacky!
I'm not sure why the writers think it is okay to use so many lame puns and alliteration at an ATTEMPT to make the narration funny when they're telling stories of raped and killed children! The writers should consider writing children's books instead of true crime. The episode in particular showed the detective baking pizza in his kitchen. I was so confused as to why this was even in the show. Then he made a statement about having all the ingredients for a recipe (like solving a crime). Then the narrator followed with a terrible pun, "Without the right ingredients, this case may end up half-baked!" This episode was about a little girl who was raped and murdered in the woods. It was full of puns, alliteration, and sarcasm which comes off as completely insensitive and tactless.
