Beyond Black Beauty (2024)
Very enjoyable with minor flaws
I thoroughly enjoyed this show and binge watched it within 2 days. Great actors although deducting a point from my review solely because of the actors age. The 15 year olds looked to be the in their early 20s which took you out of the youthfulness of some of the story plots. The other minor issue is that if Jolie was born and grew up in Belgium, why does she not have an accent. Again, just small details. But I really enjoyed the diversity, story telling, and beauty of the backdrops, horses etc. Lovely show, would highly recommend. Looking forward to season 2 although I hated the last 2 mins of the season, definitely would have preferred a more joyful ending. Lovely show though would highly recommend.

Keke Palmer is fabulous
I thought I would start of that way because the hate in these comments is real. I think the show is cute. It's a lot of fun and a lot of smiles. Sure Keke may be a little over the top, but it's what makes things special. You can see the pure joy she has for the contestants and routes for them win as well as just has general excitement for the game. Sometimes I wish Jimmy wouldn't play every single game and we would have more guest stars however I like his overall partnership with Keke and he is pretty good at the game. This is a fun show that really keeps you smiling for a fun time with challenging clues that make you want to play a lot. Overall, a great family show And a nice show.
Mea Culpa (2024)
So disappointing
Besides being impressed with Kelly's acting and of course the great RonReaco (Jimmy) this was terrible. This left me feeling sad, disgusted, and disappointed. Tyler Perry has really crossed over into an area that no longer lifts the spirit. The extra nudity scenes and sexual escapades were pointless and unnecessary. Not only was this a slow story, but a mood killer. And ultimately too sick for my liking, and shall I mention redundant. Felt like his Temptation movie mixed with a fifty shades. Again, Kelly did extremely well as she grows into her acting bag, and some of the other actors were great, some not so great, but the plot, storyline and extra need for nudity made this a 1 out of 10.
All Rise (2019)
Keep watching, season 3 redeems the series
Like many, I love season 1 and was very disappointed with season 2, as it moved to a soap drama and the court cases were less of a focus. Own must have been listening to us, because they have rectified this with season 3. There is a great balance of character build and interest, while maintaining focus on the court cases. I also like that most of the court cases finish in 1 episode, which keeps things engaging and not too drawn out. Great series.

Bobby's Triple Threat (2022)
Done after Chef Jose's episode, rigged
I started off enjoying this show when lesser known chefs came to battle. It was believable and judging seemed fair. This season with the add of iron chefs has just become a joke. Chef Simon's episode was beyond insulting when it came to the judging and tonight's episode with Chef Jose was clearly fixed. With all the cooking shows I will be changing channels and finding something else. Really unfortunate as I love watching Michael and Tiffany cook.

First Wives Club (2019)
Love this show!
I love this show. It's quality filming and acting. It's got moments to make you cry and then laugh out loud. The one minor minor flaw is Jill Scott's role. She's just too much in the clouds, and I miss Ari's character. But I do appreciate all the new characters and Michelle (Bree) is awesome! Hilarious and loving, I mainly watch for her :-) anywho if you want a fun free spirit show, tune in, it's great.

Unthinkably Good Things (2022)
Pleasant film about Girlfriends
Thoroughly enjoyed this film. The actresses were great especially Erica Ash. Sure some of this was far fetched, but it was enough feels and truth to remind you of your long lasting friendships and how life gets tougher the older you get.
If you are in the middle for a feel good film, that makes you smile, and reflect on your girlfriends, this is the movie for you.
Again great acting by all. And here's to adding text to make the minimum count, good grief. Again recommend a watch, as the actresses are very talented.
If a book is what is required, I shall write a novel. With a little more depth. And a bit more space. I will get to be able to make this post. Almost there.
Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. (2022)
Mislabeled
Not a bad movie, just mislabeled. It's not a comedy. It's a full on look at the scandals and people behind them at mega churches. The saving grace is the acting. Both leads show their acting chops in a major way, but the script and the movie is just a bit boring. I gave it a 6 for the message and the acting but not a movie I would run and tell people about. Again, the two main actors are great, just this script doesn't match their talent, their talent instead carried the script.
And why are we required to write a 600 character review now? Well no need to read below just making this a novel in order to submit...
Bel-Air (2022)
Originally a 9 but after episode 9, reduced to 6
Why whyyyy are they ruining Carton's character. I just don't understand. The actors playing Will, Phil, and Vivian, are great. But to damage the dynamic character of Carlton (I won't add spoilers but his overall lifestyle choices, lack of confidence and jealousy, is done to the extreme). Overall good concept but they need to do better with Carlton and Ashley's characters.

Season 1 great, season 2 ok
I absolutely loved the first season and watched it again while waiting for season 2. Season 2 just went to far left and did not do justice to the main characters, although I will say they did build the characters of the supporting characters which was good to see. But I found myself forwarding through some of season 2. I would still watch a season 3, although I think the way it ended could be left as is, as well. (10 for first season, 6 for second, left me with an 8)
Doom Patrol (2019)
Season 1 was great... that's about it
Season 1 was interesting and fun and then season 2 introduced the daughter and it just became childish and annoying. Now season 3 starts with the daughter character again and a bunch of storylines that are just too weird. Destroyed the show :(
Titans (2018)
Season 1 great, season 2 ok, season 3 why?
Season 3 is hard to watch. I don't understand the need to get rid of some of the main characters and to stay within Gotham. If we wanted another Batman/Batwoman story we we would watch those shows. This was interesting because of the group dynamics and various skills. An individual focus each episode on a specific character makes for a very slow series. I enjoy the new character (Starlight's sister) but again you get a glimpse and then we are back to a dark Batman/Gotham focused storyline. Unfortunately no longer interested in watching.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
So hard to watch
Not sure why there are such great ratings. I had to watch this in two separate nights because it was boring and all over the place. I did not understand the plot nor goal until 70% in where it just went from one stupid extreme to the next. The first version was not the best film but was by far better then this. I don't know where they were trying to go. It's much more gruesome then the first movie with a worst plot. Also no development on any of the characters, perhaps that's what made the first one better and why this film seemed so off. Waste of time.
The Sinner (2017)
Great series that declines with each season
Overall I would say give all 3 seasons a watch. Sure it gets steadily worst, but the first season is very addictive, although I could fast forward any scene that has to do with the detective and his personal life. Season 2 was interesting but season 3 was just over the top for me. I felt like I was watching a horror film or a film that was designed to produce serial killers. Eh creepy and utterly ridiculous storyline. That being said it still wasn't terrible in the since that you shouldn't watch it like other reviews say. Anywho I hope if this returns, it returns with the format of season 1.
Making the Cut (2020)
Second season much better
They listened and made some much needed adjustments this season. Bravo. Fashion is subjective but I do think they got it right this time. Again... everyone has different flavors. Overall tho I like the improvements they made to the show an enjoyed this season. Looking forward to the next.
Run the World (2021)
Gets better after first couple of episodes
It's enjoyable but was initially over the top with the sex craze the women have. Luckily the show begins to have more substance a couple of episodes in. I thoroughly enjoy both Bresha's (married friend) and Ambe's (engaged friend) characters. Erika (living single's Maxine Shaw) is awesome as always. Especially in episode 4, where she brought the much needed laughter and smiles to the show. Overall, the show is good, but I really hope they enhance Andrea's (single friend) role. Corbin's role begins to fit and have more substance as the show progresses. Overall, the show has promise and I will keep watching and giving it a chance, if anything to support Bresha, Amber and Erika's roles and acting.
Survivor's Remorse (2014)
So good. Funny, loving, and emotional rollercoaster
This show starts off good, but as the seasons progress it gets much better, with much more substance. The actors are great. Everyone holds their own and more. Really enjoyed it and wish there were more seasons. Binge watched it in one week. Missing the characters already.
Stuck with You (2020)
Great actors great storyline
Nice show about marriage and relationships, and the various struggles. A little slow at times but a good watch. The actors are great!
The Upshaws (2021)
It's ok...
Too much cursing (especially from the kids) but overall an ok show. Love Kim and Wanda! Couple smiles but no real laughs.
Good Girls (2018)
Season 1 great then goes downhill
It's just too much Beth. If it would have kept with the humor of season 1, I would be ok with the unrealistic nature of the season. But come on, in real life Beth would have been tortured and killed already. To pretend as though she can always threaten and weasel her way out of dangerous situations is just ridiculous. Again if it would have kept the season 1 comedy setting then it would have been ok.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Disappointing and unrealistic
This started of great and then half way through just took a turn for the worst. There was so much to go off of with the elder woman and her background, to just let that go and pretend that the guardian is somewhat above every situation like some amazing spy with the ability to supersede all odds. Palease. This could have been great but instead is a disappointing disaster
A House Divided (2019)
It grows on you
After season 1 series picks up speed. Highlights are Paula Jai Parker, LisaRaye, and Demetria. If only they would give LisaRaye a bigger role. Interesting drama with twists and turns. Some you see coming, and others you don't. Nice little soap opera-ish drama. Don't expect a masterpiece, but entertaining.
For the Love of Jason (2020)
Fun and entertaining but...
Really wish they wouldn't talk about the beautiful black women that appear on the show as busted or fat, when they are neither. And even though my grammar is typically terrible, the constant use of "you and I" incorrectly (3x in one episode) seems strange for a script about successful and educated black folks. Overall I like the show and it gives me Insecure 1st season vibes without the big budget. Would recommend, just minor feedback that hopefully the writers will take into consideration for season 2. Actors and actresses are good.
Batwoman (2019)
Rating based on season 2
Season 1 was terrible and boring. Season 2 start is already more exciting. Giving it a chance... Would rate a 5/10 but figured to adjust based on all the unnecessary 1s, it's definitely not a 1, not even season 1 should be scored that low.
2 Minutes of Fame (2020)
Not a comedy but good
This was more a drama than a comedy but the acting was good. Moments that will bring a small but no laugh out loud moments. Give it a chance though. Decent film, just wouldn't necessarily call it a comedy.
