Santa Inc. (2021)
Woke trash
I never found Seth Rogan or Sarah Silverman funny, and this just affirms my opinion of them. How they keep getting hired is beyond me. Is Hollywood really that desperate for warm bodies?
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Awful writing
The first episode is pure exposition. It only gets worse from there.
The mystery antagonist is obvious from like the second episode, and the podcaster is atrociously cringy. I want to punch her in the face.
A scene in the first episode shows that Dexter/Jim is a super regular at a bar, but in a later episode he has apparently no idea that the antagonist frequently has a dance tradition with the same bartender that knows Dexter's order by heart. Like, what? We established in the first episode that he's always there. How has he not witnessed this? Sloppy writing.
The story is also just... boring. I just don't care about the plot at all.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Was better than expected
I'm not a fan of these types of movies. I can't stand the whole "kill as many people off as quickly and gorily as possible" action genre. It reminds me of "Smokin' Aces", and that movie was so bad. This starts off that way but for the most part sheds that style.
Black Widow (2021)
Taskmaster = ruined
Stop forcing characters to fit a story and start making the story fit the characters.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Better than Whedon's
But still flawed.
There's three references to Green Lanterns (two are shown, one is mentioned), yet they shoehorn in Martian Manhunter with two bizarre cameos?
Batman/Bruce still mentions his dream where Flash warns him that "Lois is the key," but nothing ever happens with it unlike in Whedon's cut where we discover it's not a dream but actually Flash time-traveling. Very strange choice to keep those 3 seconds of dialogue that go nowhere.
The Joker scene is truly awful. What a cringey, autistic-sounding laugh. Ugh.
Venom (2018)
This isn't Venom
Generic action movie with Venom added in. Has a completely new origin, doesn't have Spider-Man, for some reason symbiotes are prenamed, etc. Tom Hardy should not be allowed to play superheroes anymore. First he ruined Bane, then he ruined Venom.
True Life (1998)
Undeserved attention for garbage people
A show dedicated to normalizing the abnormal, with the goal of eroding our society's structure. Terrible.
Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones (2019)
Finally!
Thank you, Dave Chappelle, for having the balls to mock the alphabet people. You are a hero.
Stranger Things (2016)
Awesome as a trilogy
Individually, season 1 was a solid 10, season 2 was a mediocre-at-best 7, and season 3 wrapped everything up perfectly to be another 10.
Overall, as a trilogy, I'd give it a 10.
