The Physician (2013)
I'm glad I'm not the only one disappointed
** Contains spoilers**
I had high hopes for this movie because I thought I would finally see Muslims getting the recognition they deserve for so many advances in the field of medicine as well as others.
However, what we get is the stereotypical depiction of a Muslim, the obvious prayer calls throughout the movie, making the Imams look whiny "why do we deserve this?"
Taking such a revered person such as Ibn Sina, a very devout Muslim and turning him into a faithless man (or nearly- only once did he mention Allah), and even having him commit suicide when he would know it was cleary forbidden to do so!
This movie only goes to glorify Christians and make Muslims look like war mongering people. And I was absolutely disgusted when the armies of men were shouting "Allahu Akbar" as though they were real Muslims actually fighting for Allah.
The directors need to go back and learn their history and understand who we should really be crediting when it comes to advances in medicine.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)
You will be watching this over and over again
Where do I start?!
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is such a beautiful love story between a mute little girl and a man with the purest heart. From the very beginning we see how selfless Pawan is not being able to abandon Munni and making it his mission to bring her back to her parents. He won people over with his optimistic attitude and innocence in only doing the right thing. It's ending will have you in tears, guaranteed!
I can't praise the acting enough, especially for the little star, Harshali. She has proved to have such a bright future ahead of her. Salman had already won me over with previous movies and this one had me to the point of no return. Kareena Kapoor was stunning in her role and Newazuddin was hilarious!
I loved how although Pawan had a clear dislike toward Muslims in the beginning, he came to understand the religion and even embrace it. Though I believe more could have been done to unite these two religions...
I laughed and wept and couldn't take my eyes off the screen. This is definitely one movie I will have no problem seeing again and again...and again.
Saawan... The Love Season (2006)
Unwatchable except for Salman
Wow, had there not been Salman Khan in this movie, I would have never gone through two hours of this waste.
The lead characters are terrible, with the male having the brains and mannerisms of a school boy and the female all cardboard. Their emotions seemed so forced and faked, the dialogue TERRIBLE, and the plot so random.
Khan's and Lever's characters were the only ones that saved this disaster of a movie. Lever added the humor and Khan delivered his role really well that I didn't really care about the lead characters, but would have loved to see more of his.
All in all, if anyone says they watched this movie, it was probably only for Salman Khan.
The Pinkertons (2014)
My new favorite!!
I found this show by accident, and I've been binge watching every episode online I can find!
I've finally found a detective series that seems so mature. The setting gives it that feel as well as the characters. I love how the plot doesn't seem like it's a soap opera with one twist leading to another.
The cases can be predictable and other times I was in shock. We even get to see some famous faces such as Edwin Booth and Jesses James.
The characters themselves seem like such a good match. How they didn't trust each other at first, to working perfectly in sync and fully trusting each other.
It's not a very well known show, and I don't know if it'll get another season, but if it does, I can't wait! It ended in such a cliffhanger, that I'm dying to know what happens next!!
My Fake Fiancé (2009)
I love Melissa and Joey!!
Coincidentally, I have been currently watching Melissa and Joey on ABC Family, and I love everything about those two! They have an amazing chemistry (that i cannot deny) together, so I was beyond extremely happy to find that they had done a movie together! I can't believe I haven't watched this before!! It was a sweet, cheesy, hilarious, predicable movie and I loved it! I was so close to tears at the end, and I could not have asked for a better ending!! Some dialog here and there could have been much better, but the cuteness that is Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence was all I could see!!
