Joker: Folie à Deux (2024)
Simply... it's not what audiences crave for.
Tone, Script & Story: This is story of joker charged with murder of quite a few men. This joker is not insane. He falls for police. Despite support from public fails to be free.
He falls for Quinn who charms into him for his popularity but leaves him for he is weak.
The movie is depressing in its tone, nothing spectacular about joker all but tragic.
Now what audience wants is insane man with high intelligence. He is not that. Further the Harley Quinn which fell for him was herself a psychiatrist, so scripting is weak too.
Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: With what the story is given this area stands justified. Music: Music is justified as well. Acting: Acting is good.
Final Verdict: After what we have seen in Batman: The Dark Knight and Joker part 1, this movie fails to go by standards.
Singham Again (2024)
Action packed legend inspired drama.
The story is basically how Singhams wife is kidnapped and additionally how she is brought back safely.
The movie is heavily inspired from Ramayan where Singham is Lord Ram, His wife Kareena is Devi Sita, Tiger is Lord Lakshman, Ranveer is Lord Hanuman and the villain Arjun is Ravana.
The movie has the biggest budget until now, in fiscal year 2024 standing at whooping amount of 300 crores. It has huge expectations for the people who have made it.
When we compare it with previous Singham movies, the graph falls further. Yes for me with each movie the graph has slightly lowered with new installment.
It's an action blockbuster, you will love it if you are looking for same. There's guns, there's blasts, there's fire, there's helicopters, etc.
Music is average and acting stands justified.
Final Verdict: If you are looking for action and high budget drama you will like it. For me it's an average encounter.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024)
Another horror comedy done well.
Tone, Script & Story: The movie is how a rajkumars dies and how justice is brought after a wait of 200 years.
Unlike first installment but following the footsteps of second installment the ghost is real and not psychological.
The movie was falling short of entertainment until Aaryans character (Rooh Baba) decides to run away showcasing his epic dialog "chal hatt" but couldn't. Jawans Cameo was great too. Watch movie to know the details.
Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: I would say the mahal, the tabela, others there is no such thing as eye candy, but I feel that went well with the movie as set it was set 200 yrs old and burnt (in a scene where Rooh went for jhad-phook). The horror entities lacked style like in Munjya.
Music: Music appears inspired and is average. Acting: Acting by entire cast seems average. I believe the best of Aaryan is Chandu Champion till date.
Final Verdict: More than the story with genre horror, I enjoyed it for its comic sense (Although Stree 2 is better). The horror concludes. If you want to experience the same do watch it.
Sarfira (2024)
Good: wins! The wicked: tastes its own medicine.
Tone, Script & Story: The revolutionary story of Flight Company Deccan Air of how they bought flight services to poor people. Due to their venture many people were able to travel via air route as fares were affordable with tickets as cheap as Rupee 1.
What a fantastic cinema where determination wins despite of the sick nature of competition. It was all right as we approached end and the sick got the taste of its own medicine.
I have always wanted India to be a country where standard of living is at least enough to afford inter country air travel with ease. Thus I liked the movie. I however am surprised such startup was nowhere in news.
There were two instances that peaked my emotions, one when the wife supports him financially and other when villagers were all pouring there love in form of finances. Yes the poor people.
The sad thing is in reality Air Deccan is closed. Maybe that's why movie dint work at box office.
Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: The sarfira man, the charming wife, air force, its officers, sky, planes, etc are all captured well.
Music: Music was average. Acting: Acting was good. You hate Paresh, You love Sarfira, You like the wife, Anil and Prakash shine along with others.
Final Verdict: Such an important incidence I don't know why was out of news. No problem, now it's out. Do watch it.
WWE Bad Blood (2024)
All my favorite won (men's matches)!
1. C M Punk won against Drew McIntyre. The match was in a cell with extreme rules. It was the only match true to its name "Bad Blood" as both contenders bled.
2. Damiian Priest won against Finn Balor. It was as if Priest took against entire Judgement day. A great show.
3. Triple H in ring with Gunther for intro. Gunther disrespected Goldberg and took the charge from Samy Zayn. Goldberg too came out but the clash took place only with Samy.
4. Blood Line match: Roman & Cody against two members of bloodline. The bloodline again cheated but this time Jimmy USO came for rescue and the first duo won.
It happens so that even if some players are nice they don't find place in people's heart easily. Drew & Gunther belong to that category. Gunther's speech got me badly. Let's watch it how it turns out in future.
Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys (2024)
A story more than common that doesn't come to light.
The story is mainly about five friends who come together and their seriously mischievous acts. Their parents try to separate them but they end up together in same engineering institute. All of them are bad at studies how will they cope up in this cruel world.
I saw a Hindi dubbed version and I thoroughly enjoyed 80 percent of movie. I enjoyed it as a native viewer. I don't know if it would be same for people from south. The movie is a hilarious drama-comedy.
The 20 percent that I dint enjoy comes as we approach end. The boys weak at studies how will they cope up? It's shown their parents finally support them and even take up insult from relatives. Also I dint like the negative ending.
It came to my mind that in real world parents mostly hide what their children are pursuing with something respectful if their children are weak. This was not shown.
Music in Hindi dubbed version is above average.
Final Verdict: Do watch it. With the hilarious comedy in place, I was jumping in my seats. You may be surprised.
Binny and Family (2024)
Not what it seems...
What I perceived from trailer was it's a story about a teen who is rowdy and makes mistake the kind one makes in their teens. She further is brought to right values due to intervention from grandparents. Something like shown in movie Baghban.
The real story is the teen loses her grandmother because of her actions. She is not bad but things go wrong. She tries to cheer up her grandfather and is getting everything in place when her grandpa discovers the truth. He is now hurt. Will she succeed?
The teen girl gets an opportunity to write a play for her academics. She pens down her story. By the end of story we come to know the movie is inspired from true events. The other thing we crave is grandfather's forgiveness. Will that happen?
When I first saw the trailer, I thought it would be on the terms of teen being wasted but it's not the case. She is just fine given her age.
The most cherished character is played by Grandfather Pankaj Kapur. Others too have done justice to their roles.
Final Verdict: It's an above average drama that is sure to make u feel good at least for once.
Taaza Khabar (2023)
Concept of introduced miracle executed well!
The series is about an individual who lives in poverty. He then gets a phone which miraculously tells the day to day news before it's going to occur.
In the first season he roses to power mainly with the help of gambling on game of cricket by betting exactly in favor of news which he use to get before occurrence. As the movie approach end the vardaan (boon) becomes shraap (curse) as he becomes arrogant. The movie ends with the news of his death.
Bhuvan who plays Vasant is an extremely talented actor. The cast has done a commendable job. What I liked most is concept of miracle followed by execution of storyline.
In the second season it's revealed that the news of death of Vasant is all planned by himself to escape fate from gundas. It fails, and now he has to pay a huge amount. Now comes the daily struggle to meet that amount. Our hero is the one who accepts his condition and starts repaying in installments. Vasant could have killed (I think I would have done that) but surrenders to situation. His father is killed. He's in shock. Also now it's revealed he himself is going to become a father. As we proceed a plan hatches and all becomes well.
We come to add to our knowledge by mention of bit coin, whale vomit, costly paintings-car, costly drugs, etc that assign importance in my viewing experience.
Final Verdict: Very nicely crafted series. Concept is executed well by the team working on screen and off screen. Do watch it. You would be amazed.
Sector 36 (2024)
Unfolding Insane Melodrama.
Tone, Script & Story: The story is about children going missing in sector 36 and nearby areas in Delhi.
As shown in the trailer, there is no search for the culprit. It is established since the beginning who it is.
What grabs ones attention is the way how culprit confesses? He has no shame. He is insane and fearless.
The crime involves killing, chopping, consuming, selling organs of innocent individuals. The crime against about 25 people is confessed most of them being children.
The movie is depressing. The culprit has his associate among some bigger name. Despite the confession the culprits are set loose. Further into the investigation an officer is killed additionally. It happens because of involvement of men in power. We can see his missing poster as well.
Acting: Acting from all of the cast is executed well. After 12th fail Vikrant Massey's performance is worth mentioning.
Final Verdict: I wanted a positive ending. The movie is inspired from true events. What are makers trying to convey? Is the horror still existing? I will say watch it if u can accept negative ending and for the captured confession.
Saint Frances (2019)
A really smart and adorable saint.
The story is about a women in her thirty's who befriends a girl when she decides to take a job of her full time nanny.
When I first went through description my mind was clogged by adult centric approach of movie involving abortion and s*x. Diving deep I found the movies name involves a girl who is about to finish her kinder garden, that's where I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed.
The women in her thirty's is bold. Without a doubt she decides to abort. She is shown to get involved in intimacy with no strings attached attitude. Her partner might feel else.
The girl is bought up in a modern day family. She is adorable and smart. She brings delight whenever her screen presence is shown. During the last moments of movie she really got my emotions going.
Do give this movie a try, you would cherish it.
Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024)
Hilarious comedy, but weak coz of being an installment.
Tone, Script & Story: Stree 2 is sequel to movie Stree which also includes other horror comedy movies from Maddock films. This time horror entity named Sarkata returns. It takes away women who put up with modern lifestyle. Will Vicky, Rudra and team able to help them?
Like in part one there lies a condition of innocent lover to deal with villain. In this part to its same, however I feel it's not Vicky so easily as the characters played by Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana are also good contenders. Don't worry the role is reserved with Vicky (Rajkummar Rao). It however reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean movie where Calypso is freed by innocent lover. Could it be anybody other than Vicky?
What I liked: The hilarious comedy scenes where even the villan Sarkata was not spared were tremendous.
What I dislike: The story is not strong. It's part of horror comedy universe from Maddock films which include Munjya and Bhediya. I dislike linked movies.
Watch it at home for the hilarious comedy it projects.
Kalki 2898-AD (2024)
Nice tale that continues from Hind mythology.
Tone, Script & Story: The story takes place after 6000 years of Mahabharata where Kalki avatar will be born and revolves around the same. The movie is not complete and viewers will require to wait for sequel.
When I first watched the trailer I thought it would be like Tiger Shroff's Ganpath, but the story precedes with Hindu epics and that's where I now cherish it.
The only thing now bothers me is one will have to wait for sequel.
Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: Superb! The future along with futuristic entities like gravity defying technology, the rich province, the poor colony, the developed characters etc all sooth the viewing experience.
Final Verdict: What I liked the most was how the story was developed, how Kalki will be born, what things would happen. How everything would fall in place? How risen adharma will be challenged (although to know fate one will require to wait for sequel). All of it is woven beautifully.
Do watch it, you won't be disappointed.
Chandu Champion (2024)
An epic tale not lost in history anymore!
Tone, Script & Story: The story is about a person who decides people will remember him same as a medal winner arriving in his village. To be precise he decides to be an Olympic gold medalist. He comes to know that via being in military he will become very close to his dream. It further shows if he will succeed.
As it is shown this movie was an only medium to bring this epic tale to the audience doing justice to champion Murlikant Petkar. He in his life learns three sports only to fulfill his dream. The movie is about will he achieve his dream, but more than that how that would shape village life where he lives.
Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: The village, the akhada, the transport, the military camps, the ring, the sports conducting venue, the hospital, etc have all been captured well. A good approach in short.
Music: Above average music that goes well along the movie. Acting: Everyone has acted well. Good casting.
Final Verdict: Some movies show part of story and some are complete. I am a person who likes a complete story. This movie fulfills that craving. It's complete. Do watch it. It's a delight.
Munjya (2024)
Commendable effort.
Tone, Script & Story: The story is about a ghost munjya who is trapped in a tree. The ghost frees when main character visits and it gets hold of him. Now they set on a journey to marry ghost his love or will they able to destroy ghost without consequences.
When I first watched trailer I expected comedy and no lives lost but when you watch movie this jumbles a little. Apart from that its commendable effort. The movie reminded me of movie Roohi which I feel is better made counterpart.
Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: It was good, the ghost, daadi sequences, the adjoining scenarios are really filmed well. One more movie Chota Bheem has been released, is a letdown in this area.
Music: Music is above average. Many people can be find it humming out. Acting: Sometimes the supernatural sequences involving humans seem overdone or dim but budget wise seem okay.
Final Verdict: The movie is eye pleasing and good with songs and scenes. It's a commendable effort to be a full paisa wasool package. Do watch it u won't be disappointed.
Animal (2023)
social ANIMAL - human!
Tone, Script & Story: The story is about an individual who loves his father and is bold in nature. To be specific like what his thoughts are he is an alpha.
When the movie first came out it was highlighted as something without a story. Critics have thrashed the movie. But from what I have watched there is a story that is relation from past trying to take revenge and main lead hunts them down.
To add further the story is well constructed. Why it is called animal, why mentioning alpha, why birthday, how culprits are hunted down, etc.
I would like to mention the trailer shows the movie in the lime light of unnecessary violence, also away from relations and makes one decide not to watch the movie. The move to not release trailer early was great.
Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: It's a movie where romance, relations and bloodshed is seen. There are chances that men will like it more as there are weapons and I would like to mention again bloodshed.
Music: I was not interested in the movie because of critics. Music is one of the main factors what changed my perception. Music is terrific! Acting: Acting is great.
Final Verdict: Do watch it guys you will cherish it, especially men.
Arthur the King (2024)
Misleading trailer!
The movie is about a dog, how he befriends one of the candidates of Adventure Racing played by Mark Wahlberg.
The movie shows how the dog Arthur is injured and could not make it, but this fighter makes it and lives great life with his new family consisting of Mark his wife and children.
The trailer is appealing. However, the star of movie doesn't appear to dominate the screen until interval. If that were not enough the trailer misleads. It says on some instance follow Arthur which is never shown in the movie. The movie would have been terrific if the storyline consisted of Dog Arthur showing them the path ahead.
The movie however is a good account where a dog gets adopted and cured from dangerous wound which were thought to be fatal by vets.
Article 370 (2024)
Abrogation of Article 370 in its final phases.
The description of story is put forward as inspired from true events. It says freeing Jammu and Kashmir from article 370.
My problem with the story: There is full-fledged narration of how a document is faulty even if it is located at home ministry. It were crafted so. I want to know if it was really so as the movie says inspired. If not this should not have been included. If true which I think is not, questions the movie at least in my conscience.
My acceptance with the story: Article 370 was a curse to India. It was a great phase when it was abrogated. It was challenging but the government went with it. It took necessary action so that things don't get out of control. A movie on such event I welcome it.
The movie cherishes women. Mainly, one in journalism, one as a soldier and one as a politician. The story revolves around them. It brings comfort in storytelling. But the thing is it says inspired, where I feel wanting more. Do watch it especially when you want to watch something serious.
Pailwaan (2019)
Why boxing?
The story is about a man who brought up to be an undefeatable wrestler (pahlwaan) in the world of wrestling (kushti). Time however has different plans for him. He becomes a man with a family and leaves wrestling.
Now comes the most beautiful part of movie. The phase as a father. It's portrayed and pictured beautifully.
Later the tables turn and he fights again. As the movie progresses now the main character wants to improve the life of children via sports. He decides to enter boxing. Will he succeed?
I can understand to work certain script is required, but still why boxing. If they would have written and executed something better like wrestling itself I would have been at more ease. That's where the movie loses. Apart from that it's a good watch.
Anbe Sivam (2003)
Heart breaking end makes it stand the test of time.
The story is about two men who meet and fate makes one hand over his entire possession to other without even caring much about it.
What he does would not only make him lose his new companion but also cutting ties from every story which he shared with his friend.
For me it's really heart breaking and that rises a storm in my head, do we know people who put up with such a sacrifice? I can't rate this movie more for I can't sacrifice like Kamal's character.
Kamal acted really well, his character after accident which is stiff and experienced of hardships is really carved out well.
Do watch the movie when you have the mood to watch something sad, the ending will get you on your toes.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024)
Quite joyful action thriller!
The story is about soldiers one of which has turn rogue as his creation has been termed as ill by others.
What I most liked about the movie was that, it was totally new from events that have really occurred in history. I mean it did not include events like URI or 7-11 as build up story.
To add further it has use of some technology some in use and other superficial into consideration when our beloved country is concerned. There is use of defensive Dome & super Drone technology. There is concept of self-healing clones & EMP devices.
The characters that are built like Tiger, Akshay, tech specialist, etc bring joy to your experience. If you are planning to watch a movie this week do consider it.
Maidaan (2024)
Average encounter that could have been so much more.
The story is an inspired biography of Indian football team coach Syed Abdul Rahim. When I first watched the trailer I was like football and India? But then after researching I found out he was a coach between 1952 and 1962. His greatness can be taken into account by the fact that Indian team has failed to qualify for Olympics since his regime.
The story is what I call an average encounter. It's more of the politics that goes on rather than the game itself. I was looking for more of a relationship between coach and players but that was absent.
I am not big of a gamer especially when it comes to outdoor games. For someone like me a sports movie would do wonders if rules of the prevailing sports are described as well. This movie is no different and it disappoints in that matter. Sad mainly for female audience.
With that said the movie takes u on emotional ride in last minutes. But the question is will you give up your 3 hours for last moments when a 5 minute video about Rahim on YouTube will give you more info than the movie. Watch the movie if your answer is yes.
WrestleMania XL (2024)
Appears mostly fixed but totally worth it!
The men's matches that I think were fixed... Match involving twin USO's, Match for intercontinental championship (Gunther loses against Samy), Match involving bloodline (Saturday (Cody and Seth loses against Roman & Rock)), Match for world heavy weight championship (Seth loses to McIntyre).
Apart from that the ladder match for tag teams, the match involving mysterios, street fight match, Match where LA Night wins against AJ Styles went really well.
Among the above mentioned matches there was not a single match I did not like, except for Saturdays match involving bloodline.
The match I was most upset about was triple threat for US championship (paul vs Randy vs KO, Paul won).
Now comes the most epic match. The match involving the bloodline (Sunday). Guess what? They tried to cheat but failed. We got to see John Cena Undertaker in the making. It were all so cool and fantastic.
Dukaan (2024)
Good but only on partial occasions.
The story is about a surrogate mother who runs away and does not return the child to its rightful owners for four years.
As I watched the trailer without completing it I decided to watch the movie. Sadly it did not go that well.
The elements connect with the audience but only on rare occasions. It is annoying especially when entire group of surrogates come into the picture.
The other thing that makes one think is how so many of surrogates come together to form a company, I mean aren't they rare?
Apart from that there are some good occasions like jasmine and her love life, jasmine explaining the child about mother father and herself, etc.
I also have a problem with name Dukaan. I mean isn't it insulting towards the lovable profession of surrogates.
Give it a watch if you have time.
Vaathi (2023)
Education is important, let the wicked earn via business.
The story is about a professor played by Dhanush who at any terms wants everybody to get educated.
Firstly he convinces the poor to send their children to the government school where he is employed. He emerges successful there and the result is 100 percent. This disturbs the business tycoon who runs private institutes where the result is 70 percent. When the businessman offers prize to government institutes students to say as his own and not Dhanushs (Vaathi, Sir). They don't hesitate and accept it.
This is where the movie bags attention. Actually the students do exactly what their Sir says. For Sir it was not important to win against business tycoon. He just wanted everybody to be educated so that they have something in life to depend on. It may be so people would have wanted the business man to lose but for me the movie wins with such storyline.
Naal 2 (2023)
Quite predictable, still warm & entertaining!
Tone, Script & Story: The movie follows life of Chaitu from first part. Although most elements are modified. The story is how Chaitu comes closer to her real sister Chimi. Chimi is young as compared to Chaitu.
Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: The beauty in the villages during rainy season is breath taking. The green farms, the kachha houses, the fort, the well, etc. Turn out to be quite an eye candy.
Acting: As last time chaitu won with his performance, this time chimi is the one who excels. Others did quite well like in last part.
Final Verdict: As the movie progressed it became quite predictable that it would end with Rakhi scene. Despite that involvement of child artists in the story made it a warm and entertaining experience.
