Agatha All Along (2024)
Witches' Road
When they announced that they would film this series, everyone (including me) wondered why there was a need for an Agahta series.
However, I believe that this series was not bad. It had a different atmosphere. Witchcraft issues have been addressed in a modern context. I really liked the acting, especially Kathryn Hahn's performance. My score is a 7 because some of the dialogue was poor. But, overall, I really enjoyed the series. Unfortunately, the only thing I disliked about the series was Joe Locke. I would not say I liked his acting. Perhaps he is a good actor, but his character was poorly written.
If there is a second season, I will watch it. I think it should be. It was also a good idea to release it around Halloween.
The Movies That Made Us (2019)
The Movies That Made Us
Only 3 seasons?
I watched it with dubbing because I usually watch it while eating or cooking. Many people said the narrator was bad. Maybe so. I didn't see any problems because I watched it with dubbing-an entertaining documentary series. I wish there were more episodes. Thanks to this documentary, I learned that many famous, cult, or beloved movies are very difficult to shoot. I learned how much effort people put in, and how they work day and night. I liked the entertaining documentary series. 3 seasons is not enough, I finished it in 3 days and wish there were more episodes. I usually don't like Netflix documentaries, but this one was not bad.
Le Comte de Monte-Cristo (2024)
Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Cold
I haven't read the book of the movie. But the movie still made me curious.
Before watching the movie, I did some research about the movie and therefore the book.
I liked this movie made in France and Belgium. Maybe it wouldn't be so good if it was a Hollywood production or adaptation.
The atmosphere and acting of the movie were good. I compared the leading actor to Adrien Brody for no reason.
Some things in the movie were not the same as in the book, which is acceptable. It doesn't have to be the same.
The movie is very long, 3 hours. Watching a 3-hour film in the cinema is tiring and uncomfortable, but the movie wasn't boring, and I wasn't bored.
Unfortunately, I watched the movie with Russian dubbing; I would have preferred to watch it in French. But unfortunately, there was no such choice.
Finally, what I want to say is that I liked the movie.
Joker: Folie à Deux (2024)
Singing In The Court
Since it was said that the movie would be a musical, it was questioned how logical this decision would be. Also, it didn't make sense to make a sequel to the "Joker" movie. The movie was bad. It was bad as a musical and bad as a movie too. The decisions made in the finale were also bad. The atmosphere and cinematography of the movie were good. Also, Joaquin Phoenix did a very successful acting performance. Brendan Gleeson was also good. I wouldn't say I liked Lady Gaga's performance. The script and this character were wrong and bad. Harley Quinn shouldn't have been this bad. We have never seen madness...Also, the Harvey Dent character was miswritten, and Harry Lawtey didn't suit the role at all. The ending and the twist of the movie were not a good idea at all. Anyway, at the end of the day, it was a very boring movie with average music. It was one of the disappointing movies of the year.
Survivre (2024)
Hikers of Caribbean
The concept is good. The trailer is interesting. The plot is not bad either, but I didn't like the movie's ending. The movie seems to have been cut off abruptly. The acting is not bad. There aren't many actors anyway. The concept is good. Some of the visual effects are not bad either. But the ending of the movie was a complete disappointment. I watched the film in the cinema, I don't regret it, but the ending of the movie is very bad and meaningless. I thought the movie would continue, but it ended suddenly. It's as if the editor of the movie got tired and bored and left it halfway and no one sent the movie to the cinema. I think this happened because I can't make any other sense of it. Also, there are no plant or animal remains after the sea receded. I don't think the Caribbean seas are like this. Anyway, they ended a good idea with a bad final.
Alien: Romulus (2024)
Alienus : Romulus
I watched "Alien Romulus" in the cinema long after its initial release, and I'm glad I finally did. I watched the movie in the Screen X hall, but it didn't make much of a difference for me, nor did it enhance the experience of the film. Regarding the film, I can say that I had heard a lot about Fede Alvarez, but I had never watched his movies before; I even confused him with another director. However, I was truly impressed by the film's cinematography and atmosphere; great work has been done. I was pleased to see the use of prosthetic makeup and practical effects, which made the film feel more convincing.
To be honest, I found the beginning of the film a bit boring, and perhaps because I was tired, I even felt sleepy. I don't know why. But from the middle of the movie, specifically after the creatures were introduced, the film became much more engaging. Kudos to Fede Alvarez; he did a great job. I had some difficulty understanding certain scenes in the beginning, which slightly lowered my overall rating, but this film is still excellent.
I appreciated the director's statement that a sequel might come, but he's not in a rush, emphasizing the need for a better story. It shows his commitment to the quality of the film. I didn't recognize any of the actors in the cast, but their performances were decent and didn't detract from the overall experience.
Late Night with the Devil (2023)
Late Night with the Devil
I really enjoyed the film. I was intrigued after watching the trailer. I enjoyed the film, its style, and its atmosphere. It was as if I were watching a 1970s television show. The film's jokes were also good. The movie's found-footage format was an excellent idea. David Dastmalchian was an actor who I thought was underrated. I was happy to see him in the lead role. He also delivered an outstanding performance. I really liked it. I enjoyed many aspects of the film. Some of the CGI, particularly the electricity, was both cheap and ineffective. The practical effects and make-up looked good. Most people were dissatisfied with the film's ending. But I enjoyed it. It was not a surprising or unexpected ending, but I liked the concept.
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
robot.loveYourMom();
Interesting. I saw this film on television as a child because I remembered some scenes from it. More precisely, the section that took place in the forest. I remember a character bowing his head and playing a song. For some reason, I remembered this character as evil. I was also certain that this character was portrayed by Alan Cumming. His face was on my mind. Anyway, I looked through Alan Cumming's filmography and could not find anything similar to such a film. I tried searching on Google but could not find it. I was aware of this film, but I kept putting it off. I do not remember which channel I was watching, but I was shocked when I saw a scene from this movie on YouTube. The movie I had been looking for for years was already on my watch list, and it was a well-known movie. That concludes my story:)
The movie was not bad, but I did not like the ending. The film raises many questions. I could not find the answers to these questions. The acting was very good. Despite his young age, Haley Joel Osment delivered an excellent performance. The atmosphere of the film reminded me of "Blade Runner" in Rouge City in some ways. The movie had a good atmosphere. Overall, it is a decent film. The film is much longer than necessary. The final parts did not completely satisfy me. If it is a robot designed to love, I can say as a QA engineer that if the demand is programmed to love, then the actual result is correct. But it has no idea why it loves it because it was programmed to do so. If artificial intelligence acts as programmed, why do androids 2000 years later plan a 24-hour happiness sequence for this child robot? Why should one android care about another? There are a lot of questions, but few answers. However, it was still enjoyable to watch. The scenes at the beginning may be a little boring, but they were still enjoyable to watch. It starts as science fiction and ends as a fantasy drama.
Reptile (2023)
Brokers
I was impressed by the film from the beginning. The atmosphere was enjoyable. The best part was the acting. They all gave good acting performances in general. Benicio Del Toro, however, was the film's star. To be honest, the first hour of the film is incredibly mysterious. After some things become suspicious, the film's mystery is gone, and it begins to deteriorate slightly. I enjoyed the film in general. Grant Singer's first attempt at directing a feature film. I think it's good. I did not particularly enjoy the film's ending. I believe the final parts were not told with excitement. Perhaps that is why. It was enjoyable. I might have enjoyed it more if it had been a murder-themed film.
Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
Eastereggspool
It is the most highly anticipated film of the year. I was looking forward to the movie. I thought the movie was enjoyable. There were some excellent and unexpected cameos. There are some negative aspects of the film. First and foremost, it is tempo. It falls and rises. Furthermore, the story was straightforward, with many unexplained elements. I liked the movie's ending. I also think the Fox sequence at the end was good nostalgia, and thank you and say goodbye. Hugh Jackman performed admirably once more. Everyone was fantastic in general. It was perfect to watch Wolverine again, this time with Deadpool. The film was very entertaining, and there were many funny scenes and jokes. Bravo to Ryan Reynolds! There were also very good references. In general, it was a little weak in terms of story, but I watched a very good movie in terms of pace, entertainment, and references. I left the cinema happy. I think I will watch it in the cinema again.
Inside Out 2 (2024)
Teenager's Mind
It is not as good as the first film. Many of the scenes were boring. I thought the first one was amusing and entertaining. We were in a child's mind. But in this film, we were inside the mind of a teenager. Yes, they demonstrated what a teen's mind and emotions are like. But that was not very enjoyable. The movie was good, but not as good as the first one. Of course, the voice acting was outstanding. I believe the film, like "Turning Red," would not appeal to everyone because it was about a young girl. If my memory serves me correctly, Pixar or Disney announced that such films would not be made. As a 29-year-old, I still find it entertaining, though not as good or interesting as the first film.
Eurovision Song Contest Malmö 2024 (2024)
Switzerland
To tell you the truth, I liked the competition this year, until the final. The host were good. Petra Mede was great again. Overall, it was an okay competition. But I didn't like the final. I disliked the song that won the competition. Just like last year, the jury chose their side and sent high scores to Switzerland. I'm not saying it was a bad ;song, it was good, and the performance was good too. But the winner of the competition should have been Croatia. People sent the most points to Croatia. Even though he did not win, like in some competitions, Baby Lasagna will always be remembered for his excellent performance. Anyway, on the final night, I was angry with the result. Congratulations to Switzerland, but it should have been Croatia.
Tasbeeh (2021)
You Belong Where You Wanna Belong
This short film explores the concept of friendship. Of course, racism continues to be an issue. I appreciated the acting. Regardless, the film takes place in one or two locations. It is about a friend's kindness towards another friend. Even though it is a short film, I believe it covers the subject very well in 12 minutes. It appeals to me. Furthermore, the phrase "You belong wherever you want to belong" was very nice. The ending of the film was also excellent. Full of hope. While watching the film, I expected a bad ending, but it ended well and with hope. I had some difficulty understanding them because they had a northern English accent. The music in the film was also decent, despite the fact that I dislike rap music.
The Fall Guy (2024)
The Deepfake Men
They had been showing trailers in theaters for several months. It caught my attention. David Leitch makes good action films. This film is just as entertaining as I expected. I also enjoyed the action scenes. The acting was also quite good. While reading about the film, I saw the expected sentence: "A love letter to stuntmen." I agree. Stuntmen work in extremely dangerous situations for very little pay. Anyway, the film is entertaining, action-packed, and occasionally funny. The music selection was excellent. It was really good. To be honest, I was bored in some scenes, but overall I thought the film was very entertaining.
Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010)
Birdemic I : Attack of the Birds
I do not know how to respond. This "movie" is worse than bad Hollywood films. Even "Sharknado" was better than this. The acting is terrible, so are the sounds, the script, the dialogue, and the effects. The movie used a gif of a bird flapping its wings. Bird sounds are deafening and terrifying. The directing job is terrible. It made me realize how important a sound engineer's job is. Honestly, I did not have much fun. In other words, these types of films become cult favorites and are viewed in droves as if they were comedies. This was one of those movies. I felt sorry for both the director and the actors. Perhaps they have come to accept their notoriety. Anyway, it is awful. The movie is full of nonsense.
Abigail (2024)
Ballerina Vampire
The movie's trailer piqued my interest. But I wish they had not revealed that the girl was a vampire in the trailer. Perhaps they did this to sell the film. I recently learned that the film is a reboot of "Dracula's Daughter." I liked the movie. All of the characters were interesting. Even the quiet scenes with dialogue were engaging and interesting. First and foremost, I enjoyed all of the acting. They were really good. Alisha Weir was amazing. I watched with my mouth open. I was going to give the movie 7 points, but instead gave it 6. Because the film was incredibly predictable. First and foremost, I had no idea the film would be a reboot, but I could predict how it would end at the start. It was a little obvious. Jump scare scenes were used. I wish it hadn't been used. The movie was also good technically. It was a fun movie for me. I had a lot of fun in the cinema.
Fred (2023)
Titanic II
First and foremost, the poster for this short film caught my attention. He resembled one of the crew members from the film "Titanic." I started watching movies and discovered that it is. The film is about Frederick Fleet. One of the Titanic's crew members survived. He is also the first person to notice and report the iceberg. Even as he grew older, he suffered from depression as a result of the traumatic events in his life. Even though the film was almost 7 minutes long, it was enjoyable, with excellent cinematography, sound design, and music. The director's work was also impressive. Despite its brief length, the film successfully conveys its message.
The Holdovers (2023)
The Problematics
I really enjoyed this film. I didn't know Alexander Payne. . I appreciated the director's work. He did an excellent job. David Hemingson also excelled as a writer. Eigil Bryld did an excellent job with cinematography. For a moment, I thought the film was old. It was shot very well. It does not look digital at all. The cinematography was very good. Even though the film contains some humorous elements, it is primarily a drama film. Paul Giamatti may have given his best acting performance yet. Dominic Sessa is excellent, even though this is his first job. If he works with the right people and on the right projects, he will have a successful career. Da'Vine Joy Randolph performed well. She won an Academy Award. But I am not sure how much she deserved it. I wasn't impressed. Anyway, to me, it looks like a 70s Hollywood movie with a 70s style (it takes place in the 70s anyway). I'm impressed.
High Score (2020)
The Birth of Gamers
It could have been much better. It was a documentary series with promise. However, not everything is explained in detail. I have never played Atari or Nintendo games from the 1970s or 1980s. I started by playing Sega. The Sonic game. Then Dendy. Then Playstation 1. Lastly, PC games. I used to play a lot of games, but I do not play as much anymore. I believe the documentary could have told many more stories. But they kept it brief and completed it quickly. Interviews with those who designed and coded the games were enjoyable. However, it was approached superficially. Moreover, Netflix has decided to be Netflix again. They also addressed issues of sexual identity and skin color for people who were unrelated to the documentary's subject matter. There were also new topics and information I learned from the documentary. That's why it's an okay documentary.
Meow (2017)
Meow Cat, Please Meow Back
It was pretty cool. I like it. I really enjoyed the movie's opening scene. In the style of 1980s horror films. The songs chosen for the film are also fantastic. A short film with the feel of an 80s horror movie. Also, the movie did not feel like a short film to me. It felt like I was watching a feature film. I enjoyed it very much. The cat was also very adorable and, you know, bloody:). I liked Christopher Jopp's directing style. However, he has not filmed anything since 2017. I hope he produces a good horror film. I believe he can accomplish it. The original music was titled FANGG. However, I could not find any information. I enjoyed the music. But I could not find out who FANGG was.
Oba (2023)
Wakanda Forever !
Despite the lack of interest in the story, the image, sound, and atmosphere were all very interesting and beautiful. To be honest, the name of the movie piqued my interest. Because in my home country, there is a network of markets known as "OBA." I smiled when I saw the title of the film. I watched it, and it was a very mystical and interesting film. Even though it was brief, I enjoyed it. The sound and effects in the film were also very good. The sound of a talking drum (dondo) is both interesting and strange. I enjoy the sound of this instrument. I believe it sounds like a human voice. The costumes were also very nice. It reminded me of the Wakanda scenes from the film "Black Panther." But it's more mystical in this movie.
Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
Kung Fu Fox
I really enjoy the animated series "Kung Fu Panda." I also watched the fourth film. To be honest, I believe this is the weakest movie in the series. Yes, they reduced their budget, but the animation quality is outstanding. Jack Black is a wonderful person, and his performance in this film was equally impressive. The Super 5 kung fu masters do not appear (as a cameo) in the film, so there is no voice acting. The Chameleon character is not bad, but she is weak compared to other villains. I didn't like her motivation very much either. I would like to see more Tai Lung scenes. Zhen was not a bad character, but it was voiced by Awkwafina. That is why I was annoyed by this character. Also, I didn't like the dragon warrior chosen in the finale at all, and it wasn't the right choice. There will be two more new movies. I hope they make better decisions on those two movies.
The Principles of Pleasure (2022)
The Principles of Nonpleasure
It seemed like an interesting documentary. It was clear from the first 10 minutes what kind of documentary it would be. Far from science. Far from fun. This "documentary" gives a lot of misinformation. There were 3-4 interesting pieces of information in a 3-episodes, almost 3-hour documentary. All the rest is garbage. This is not sincere at all. If you want to shoot a documentary, shoot it with a scientific approach. I watched a few documentaries of this type on Netflix. Too bad. They tried to make an entertaining "documentary," but it's not even entertaining. It's so boring and bad. Not good.
Gwoemul (2006)
Walking Fish
I believe Korea is very similar to our country (Azerbaijan, Turkey). Koreans are also strikingly similar to my own country. It is somewhat true. The family in this film resembles a Turkish-Azerbaijani family. This is a creature film, but underneath it is a serious family drama. Our director, Bong Joon Ho, is already well-known and considered one of the best directors. He even got an Oscar. This film includes criticism of the Korean government, Korean citizens, and civil servants. South Korea's pro-US policy has also received criticism. This film also included elements from my own country. That is why the film is harsh yet sincere. The acting was very good. Yes, the acting in Korean films may appear to be poor due to cultural differences, but this is not the case. Especially the father, Byun Hee-Bong, gave an outstanding performance. The creature's design was interesting. It's also disgusting. I likened the mouth part to the "Predator" creature. When I saw the creature for the first time, I said out loud the line that the character Dutch said in the movie "Predator" when he saw it without a mask for the first time: Anyway, I liked this movie.
Los ojos de Julia (2010)
The Invisible Man
The atmosphere of the movie was very good. It deals with the subject of not seeing and blindness very well. I also liked his work as a director. The script was good, but there were some scenes and events that were meaningless and unnecessary. Sisters being twins, husband's affair, etc. I won't write them all. This movie had very good potential. It could have been very good, but it became very weak towards the end. I liked the acting, as well as the atmosphere and tension. I liked the performances of Belén Rueda, Lluís Homar, and especially Pablo Derqui. There was a Japanese movie where a girl had an eye transplant and could see ghosts with her new eyes. I thought it would be a movie in that style, but at first, I forgot that it was a Spanish movie. I watched a few Spanish thriller, crime, and murder movies, and they were all very good. The director of those films also contributed to the script here. Finally, an average but good movie. It could have been much better.
