Vlad & Niki (2021)
Absolutely not
This kind of exploitation of children should be illegal. These kids are forced to perform so the thirsty mother can profit financially as well as have her little spotlight.
This is a suspiciously engaging for ASD children as the 11 minutes of high speed never ending stimulation are almost hypnotic to spectrum children. This kind of aggressively targeted advertising should never been viewed by anyone ever.
This is propaganda level programming aimed at turning children into mindless consumers as young as they can. Save yourself and your children and block anything and everything from these people.
The Union (2024)
How could it be this bad with the stacked cast?
It's got to be one of the worst movies either of these leads has ever made. Her blackcent that seemed to come and go was particularly disappointing to witness. What was the point of having Berry even attempt that when it served zero purpose for the story?
Script was a mumbled mess that could have been tweaked by a decent writer but instead they rolled out utter trash.
Halle has fallen off so badly that if she had to audition for the role she wouldn't have gotten it and Wallberg was phoning it in.
The entire story was garbage that was so outrageous that trying to suspend belief was impossible.
Premature (2014)
Fun watch with a great cast
Just watched this 2014 movie in 2024 and it was a good watch. No this isn't an Oscar worthy movie by any stretch but if you're looking for something funny to fill time, you could do a lot worse than this one.
The lead characters are both actors that I have really liked, one from the tv series Scream (Noah) and the other one from Amazon series Red Oaks. Both of them land some ridiculous lines and the outtakes after the movie should not be skipped. Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien) delivers as expected and I wish he was in more of the movie.
Yes it's a goofy Groundhog'esqe teenage comedy but anyone that doesn't have a few really solid laughs watching this movie, well they are either dead inside or have no sense of humor.
Give it a whirl.
Saturday Night Live: Ryan Gosling/Chris Stapleton (2024)
Best episode in years
I have been a loyal longtime viewer of SNL for almost 30 years now and this episode was one of the best I've ever seen, particularly great for this season.
Starting with the cold Kate McKinnon opening, these alien abduction skits are a personal favorite and it just continued to hit hard skit after skit.
I especially enjoyed the hilarious song and having Chris Stapleton with the amazing vocals...it's going to be hard to beat this one.
I hope this is the start of streak because this was an all around good time and I have recommended it to pretty much everyone I know.
If you're browsing these reviews looking for a fun watch, this is the one.
I Love My Dad (2022)
NOT A COMEDY! Don't watch this looking for a good time
I love Patton and was hoping for a light comedy and based on the trailer that's what I was expecting. This is not a comedy, if anything it is a soul crushing drama and boy do I mean that literally.
Everything about this movie is depressing. All of the characters are suffering through some type of genuine misery and the entire premise of this movie is actual nightmare fuel in this digital age.
I don't want to spoil this, you know just in case you love being kicked repeatedly in the groin via a light "comedy" but please trust that I suffered through this entire movie just so you don't have to.
RUN. I mean fast and far if what you need right now is anything other than an anchor around your neck dragging you into viewing the 2 hour cringe that will make your face look like you smelled a dead animal and your soul to match that.
If for some reason you are sifting through the reviews looking for a movie to make you question your terrible life choices that lead you to this exact moment...give it a whirl because it will make pretty much anything else going on in your life pale in comparison.
You've been warned.
Glass Onion (2022)
Ambien alternative
This should be marketed as a sleep aid as it put my entire family to sleep within 30 minutes. I pushed through (mistakes were made) and watched the whole thing, I wish I could go back and sleep instead.
Throughly awful and a huge disappointment considering the great cast and the fact that the first one was really good.
3*'s for cast alone because this messy tired tale that seems to think it's clever but is just a boring and predictable snooze fest. Over acting by everyone but Monae and somehow Kate Hudson even manages to be unlikable and all around irritating. With this budget you would think that Daniel Craig would have gotten a better accent coach, it's painful.
Blockbuster (2022)
Seems like the right hates everything
All these "superstore" comparisons seem to be copy/paste reviews which seems to fit the way these people regurgitate the same thing over and over. Almost like a Tucker monologue.
This show is not trying to be nor is it anything like Superstore. It's a small show in a small town with a small cast and it's full of great acting and certainly a minimally watchable story line. I would say it's better than some of the current broadcast lineup.
Like pretty much every show, this could be better but it's not a throwaway 1star rated show by any means. If you are not dead set on being a miserable person...you will probably find something to like here.
Being set in the present day is exactly the point of this show so the cries for it to be set in it's "hay day" would defeat the purpose of being THE LAST BLOCKBUSTER. It's a sad but true reality of times changing and the format of dvd all but dying completely.
Anyone old enough to remember needing to go to a video store for movies should find this show both nostalgic and relevant to technology changing things. Give it a chance.
Chad (2021)
Cringing 😫
Such a waste of a great actress, this show is painfully bad.
The Father (2020)
Please make it stop
If you have hoped to find a movie that makes you feel like you are trapped in a terrible nightmare, hoping, praying and inexplicably waiting for some sort of twist... look no further because this is that movie.
With all the talent in this movie, I really wanted to love it, sadly I am mad at myself for not turning it off because I can never unsee this abomination.
Surely the sheep will droll on about how real and deep this is but rest assured it's only "real" and "deep" in the sense that you will really want to jump in the deep end of a hard drink after watching this never ending horror film.
The Vast of Night (2019)
No, just no
The trailer is very misleading, this is an absolute vast basket of suck. You've been warned so if you decide to throw away 90 minutes of your life....make better choices.
All of these reviews that praise the "dialogue" or that are somehow trying to find some deep meaningful message are either on some very powerful drugs or they watched something other than this snooze fest. Run, now and don't look back.
Hubie Halloween (2020)
Mean spirited and cruel movie where an entire town bully's what seems like a DD person
This is just absolute garbage. The whole town, adults and kids alike bully this guy relentlessly. How is that supposed to be funny? If you don't have a problem with that premise alone, you are a terrible person and should not reproduce.
Using the voice and behaviors of a developmentally disabled person isn't funny, again it's cruel and sad.
So much potential with the big budget and supporting cast, too bad someone allowed Adam Sandler to portray this kind of pitiful and relentlessly targeted character.
Come on bro, retire this stupid played out voice and stick to making funny movies where the characters aren't the joke, the story is.
Desperados (2020)
It is exactly as advertised
I'm not sure what the huge number of complaints are about, this is exactly as advertised and hardly the dumpster fire it's being panned as.
Chick flick, buddy, rom-com with a decent cast and light story. Is this some Oscar worthy masterpiece? No. Is it a fun watch to distract you from the actual nightmare that is 2020? Yes, yes it is.
Children of Men (2006)
Just don't
Hot hot garbage. Save yourself time and frustration and skip this one.
Coronavirus Explained (2020)
Informative but short
Exactly what the bite sized attention span seems to be. I would have preferred more information but the fact that the majority of this documentary was filmed over a year ago, shows that EVERYONE that specializes in this type of study knew it wasn't if but when and our government should have been better prepared PERIOD.
100% recommended
Dave (2020)
If you like Lil Dicky, you'll like this show
I am actually surprised how well this guy can act, I mean he is playing himself so that's not a big leap but he's really good.
If you don't like his self deprecating music you probably won't like this show. I'm giving this one a chance and so far it's better than a lot of other current comedy options.
Outmatched (2020)
Really disappointed
How can this suck sooooo much? Lawson and Biggs at their absolute worst. Parents in the basement getting baked while their genius children are upstairs doing things like, taking a test behind their back, yeah sure.
The laugh track is the moldy cherry on this garbage pile. Do yourself a favor and watch paint dry for a half an hour instead of witnessing this train wreck.
Pity star awarded for potential, this is a complete mess and should not even air a second episode.
Merry Happy Whatever (2019)
Laugh track ruins any hope
Great cast but I couldn't get past 4 minutes of the show because of the incessant laugh track. If we the viewers don't know when to laugh.....it's not funny. Too bad, it had potential with this cast alone.
Joker (2019)
Hot garbage
From start to finish it's just trash. Anyone saying that Joaquins acting was so amazing was watching a different movie than I saw. He was absolutely basic, he couldn't even come close to pulling off the iconic Joker laugh....it sounded like he was crying, actually pretending to (poorly) to cry from the start and it never got any better.
He looks terrible, he spends most of his scenes sucking in his stomach for a reason that is never explained and there is nothing that sells this sloppy ass mess as the Joker's proper origin story.
Get off the bandwagon people, this movie sucks ass.
The Bad Batch (2016)
RUN. Do not even start this dumpster fire
This movie's entire script cannot be more than 20 pages. Between the dead silence or what some people seem to think of as edgy music lies an absolute abomination that should have never been made.
I think all the big names stars of this film were blackmailed into staring in it. I mean someone somewhere was calling in major markers to get these names and they have been tarnished for submitting. Even the superstud (Mamoa) was painful to watch as he was tasked with delivering his 20 lines through a thick Cuban accent. Spoiler, it was unintelligible and required subtitles.
Jim Carey had zero speaking parts which was still far too many imho. Keanu was the crossroads of dad bod and some old 80's era cartel member which as you might imagine isn't a great look. And Gianni, just no.
The movie felt like a terrible drug trip from start to finish with literally ZERO positive takeaways. You have been warned, I suffered through this hell to save you from making the same mistake. Seriously just don't even start it.
Abby's (2019)
2*'s for the cast, -* for the show
All this talent should equal an amazing show, instead it's a painful watch that I have finally given up on. The stories are boring, the outdoor setting is supposed to be new and interesting but it just doesn't work.
The entire premise of an illegal bar in your backyard is ridiculously stupid and certainly not funny. Save yourself from some cringe worthy viewing, it's unwatchable.
The Neighborhood (2018)
All this talent.....wasted
Watched it because of the cast but was very disappointed with the premise and writing. The laughtrack to make it clear whatever happening is supposed to be funny makes it even less funny.
I'm not sure how this can survive a full season, it was uncomfortable to watch this train wreck.
Making It (2018)
If you like to cringe, watch this mess
I loved Parks and Rec so seeing these two working together again I was excited. Welp, I was wrong and not even they can save this flaming dumpster fire.
The contestants are the people to avoid being friends with because they constantly make/five you stuff that you cannot throw away fast enough. Seriously, like 5th grade crafters with annoying back stories, absolutely cringe inducing.
How did this happen? How could this be considered anything other than torture? Some things cannot be unseen...you have been warned.
