I love my Psychological Thrillers, occasional drams and Cult Classics, but also have nostalgia over my childhood movies which were musicals and martial arts films.
I was a big fan of Flixster when it was in full use and was a regular member, that site kept me in touch with film and helped me watch them at an unhealthy rate.
I'm a big Hitchcock fan, love the old movies and love exploring films all over the globe.

Run (2013)
Story driven, raw British Drama
Love how this series of separate episodes each connect with each other, whilst you witness the impact of ripple effect.
Quite dark, gritty and everything great about British drama! You will either love it for it's raw truth, or hate it for its tone.
Reservoir Dogs (1992)
28 years old???? How scary!
Still one of my most revisited films. Told in Typical Tarantino style, Violence, over the top dialogue, a great soundtrack, actors that are later recycled for future projects and back n forth storytelling.
Iconic, brilliant and everything Tarantino!
Snatch (2000)
20 years on and still a great watch!
A film I revisit at least once a year, the intertwining stories, the hierarchy of criminals, the simplistic, dark, comical dialogue and recognisable faces, make this a true Brit classic!
Housesitter (1992)
Typically Hawn/Martin humour
Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin bring everything typical from their humour together and create this easy watching, spiralling out of control, predictable, slightly likeable comedy.
Rock of Ages (2012)
At last, I've seen it!
Recommended many times, because of my taste in music, I finally get to watch it!
Honestly, more cheesy than expected, but it was fun and squeezed with so many familiar rock classics. A film that is to be taken as seriously as Brand's Brummie accent, which I can only assume was in homage to Ozzy???
Inoffensive, cheesy as hell, but you will be singing along
Choose (2011)
Terrible ... a band wagon horror!
At best, it's an easy watching film that you do not have to concentrate on, it gets 4 stars for that reason. The rest is pretty naff and jumps on the band wagon of such films like scream. Nothing to jump at, nothing particularly gory and a story with no originality
Almost Famous (2000)
A film to revisit, time and time again
From the very first time watching this film, I fell in love with the music and the idea of riding alongside the band. Whilst the main character is somewhat, unbelievable in the 'real world', I'm sure the theory behind this, was to see Rock n roll through innocent, yet wise eyes.
Fractured (2019)
Mind bender!
Love a good mind bending film, where you question, what appears to be the truth!
Whilst I feel, it could have done with a few more twists, it was still a gripping watch!
The Addams Family (2019)
Aimed more for very little ones!
Fun for the young ones, but was a little disappointed as a fan if the movies. Has great messages for kids, but took my 9 year old nephew and it was a bit babyish for him.
Batman Begins (2005)
Re-visit
I'm not sure I enjoyed this too much the first time around, a darkened version of what we knew to be a colourful, fantasy franchise, but a revisit and a chance to readjust, was worthy and made for a good first instalment.
Loved the training part, reminders of old martial arts movies from long ago.
Now looking for forward to more re-visits and understanding more of the background to these characters.
Patient Seven (2016)
Allow me to save your time!
Elements of gore, terrible acting, pieces of other horror films placed together, nothing original, nothing scary, nothing that makes this film stand out, with the exception of one funny dark comedy moment.
A Perfect Murder (1998)
Enjoyable re-make
Still a favourite re-visit of mine and a remake that I feel works well (original Dial M for murder). It has it's date stamp in terms of dramatic music and perhaps If made now, would be more gritty, suspenseful and violent, but it works just as well in this era as it did for the original.
Michael Douglas role is perhaps stereotypical of other roles he has played, but if it's not broke don't fix it applies.
The River Murders (2011)
Easy watching
An easy watching, non brain taxing Serial killer movie, with a unique M.O.
Prisoners (2013)
Every parents worst nightmare!
A film to bring every kind of emotion to its rawest level, some amazing performances, from pretty much an all star cast. Suspenseful, debatable and realistically horrific!
A must watch for those who enjoy actor driven gritty ness!
Run (2013)
Story driven, raw British Drama
Love how this series of separate episodes each connect with each other, whilst you witness the impact of ripple effect.
Quite dark, gritty and everything great about British drama! You will either love it for it's raw truth, or hate it for its tone.
The Lion King (2019)
Probably the best 3D film to date
There is no other way to watch this, but in 3D! What also added to the opening scene for me, was completing the Serengeti series yesterday evening, which relates so well.
The scenes are spectacular, the movements of all animals and actor choices for all characters, I'm sure will go unchallenged. More emphasis on already popular songs, but a wow moment on 'wimaway'.
A nostalgic classic, refurbished and brought up to date, can't fail to enjoy!
Boomerang (1992)
The player got played!
Oh such a nostalgic film! It perfectly encapsulates the era with the music, fashion and language. I hadn't realised, just how many sayings I had pinched from this film and with a fair share of stand up comedians, we have some great funny moments as well as the flip.
Hall Pass (2011)
Easy watching, feet up film
Comical in parts, typical, little shocker moments, that aren't really necessary, predictable, but kind of fun
Some Voices (2000)
Wow!
What a great little find! Minimal actors, low budget, authentic portrayals of a relatable situation. A brilliant performance by Daniel Craig, my favourite kind before taking on the role that would forever define him.
Phone Booth (2002)
Simplicity making an impact
What I've always loved about this film is the Hitchcock style 'shoot in one location'. Low budget, actor driven, guilt tripping killing stranger control. One to watch over and over.
Big Eyes (2014)
Quirky and easy watching
Not a typical Tim Burton film, but that works well in a film about creativity. Easy watching, but sadly nothing outstanding
Secret Obsession (2019)
Easy watching, tv style film
It's more like the 'true movie' style of film, rather than a modern must see, but easy watching, with a tense moments
The Upside (2017)
Utter brilliance!
Perhaps this was a surprise, because it was a more serious role for Kevin Hart, or because i could relate to some of the issues, but this film was a real treat in terms of human connection. Absolutely loved the humour and seriousness that ran side by side
Peaky Blinders (2013)
Different from any dated show you've seen!
Just finished series 4 after binge watching from the beginning.
What a cast! Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Paddy Considine and Adrian Brody among the known names, with some great supporting not so well named, but for me Paul Anderson was the absolute icing on the cake!
Each series, a new pace builder, intensity personifies and with so much happening in each episode, it will feel like years down the line, when you edge toward the current end.
Violent, sexual, corrupt, exciting!
Enemy of the State (1998)
Tick off the conspiracy list!
A better film, perhaps in its time, but also still Avery relevant conspiracy thriller.
Does drag on a little and of course the action is perhaps, a little less subtle than a realistic style thriller would be.
Worth a watch!
