Back When We Were Grownups (2004)
An Acting Clinic by a stellar cast!
Nothing super flashy, no big special effects. A solid story with a superb cast. Not your type of movie if you're seeking big explosions with not much story. This is a touching story about lifelike characters. Very relatable.
Blythe Danner, Jack Palance, Peter Fonda, Peter Riegert, and Faye Dunaway were fantastic. The supporting cast was excellent as well.
The Gathering (2007)
Not award winning material, but not completely horrible.
Not as bad as others would have you believe. Keep in mind that this is a Lifetime mini-series. Trust me, I've seen a lot worse on Lifetime. Peter Fonda is sufficiently creepy.
Supernova (2005)
If Armageddon and The Room had a baby...
SO SINFULLY BAD IT'S GOOD!
What can I say about Supernova that hasn't already been said? Some movies just happen to have the inherent quality of being so bad that one can derive great entertainment out of it.
The acting is not as bad as other reviews would say. The script was terrible so I'd say that the acting is one of the only good things about the movie, aside from many minor characters attempting terrible accents.
If Armageddon and The Room had a baby, you get Supernova. 3 hour runtime may be a little too much and there is not much payoff at the end.
This movie probably isn't a 7 as I have rated it, but it received so many 1 votes unjustifiably. I would like to say that Peter Fonda can make any movie better, even this piece of $hit. It was superbly predictable and every trope got used.
Although this movie is terrible, it also supplies great background noise during sexy time. It's not the worst movie ever made, as other reviews would suggest.
Death Race 2050 (2017)
Worthy reboot of the original.
It's been almost 50 years since the original Death Race 2000 was released. In today's day and age Hollywood has very few original ideas. Death Race 2050 follows the same story line as Death Race 2000 with a few minor tweaks.
If you love the original then you're also going to love this one as well. It's not as good as the 1975 classic, however it is definitely entertaining. The current rating of under four is unacceptable. I rated it a 9 when it probably deserves a 7, but it definitely doesn't deserve all the 1 ratings it received.
Malcolm McDowell and Manu Bennett were fantastic. This movie is hilarious and as long as you don't expect any oscar-worthy material going into it you should enjoy yourself.
Unwelcome (2014)
Unwelcome a very solid debut for director, Nasty Nate
The only complaint I have about this film is that it was not longer. Alas, I can hardly be unbiased as my best friend is the writer/director, but if there is one thing I know, it is film. Considering that this is Erdel's debut film, the future is quite promising, so Hollywood better watch out, cause Nasty Nate is not far from knocking on their door in the near future.
The short film was acted well, shot well, and came off as professionally produced. Sound is incredibly easy to mess up while location shooting, but the sound came through crystal clear. The technical merits of this film will go unnoticed due to its compelling story. I suppose I could've used a little more blood and gore, but shooting on little to no budget is a bitch, what can you do?
Victor Miller was awesome! He knows he's awesome. Horror legends always do.
