Animal Parade (1972)
Childhood memories.
I do remember watching this series as a kid. It was in french and the character that i remember the most was Jason the pelican... if i remember correctly, he was the more cerebral and annoying one but i liked him the most. Also the panda looked a bit like Coluche to me at the time !
Daniel Boone: The Inheritance (1967)
A darker Daniel Boone Episode
Rebecca Boones inherits a mansion from a deceased uncle while Daniel Boone can't make it to the manor , he agrees that his wife Rebecca and son Israel go ahead to check this out .
The thing is , the manor which seems abandoned at first , contains some inhabitants that doesn't seems to be friendly at all and they don't like to be disturbed .
Of course , they get in trouble and its up to Daniel Boone to help them out , will he be on time and will he be up to the task ? This is a much darker episode than usual but i think that it makes an excellent Halloween special for it has a dark atmosphere and near haunted mansion feeling .
National Treasure (2004)
Unexpected gem
Wow , is the word that comes in my mind when i think about this great movie .
When i saw this movie i thought to myself " OK lets get trough with it ." and then from the very beginning , i could not get my eyes off the screen , i always wanted to see more and more until the very end of that great film .
When i say great it is mainly because when i saw the previews i thought ( well another Indiana Jones like movie ) not that i have anything against Indiana Jones witch i like a lot but i usually am tired about ripoffs or cheap movies that tries to copy on great movies plus I'm not a great fan of Nicholas Cage ( good actor but ... but there is a je ne sais quoi about him , but he is still a good actor ) , but this one movie was a rich and genuine blend of adventure , mysterious treasures , mystical quest , romance , action and comedy , plus the acting of Nicholas Cage was to my thinking , masterful .
No violence or coarse language makes it the perfect Family movie and it shows good morale values at the very end .
Kaze no tani no Naushika (1984)
My very first rented VHS
When i was way younger , i rented the American dub Warriors of the winds ( English version of Nausicaa )and i fell in love with that movie , everything from the graphics to the characters emotions and wounds where realistic yet i didn't know that that version was badly mangled but yet it still keeps a place in my heart but i also like the newer ( complete version ) that shows more of Miyazaki's vision but as i said , the old version is the first cartoon that i ever rented on VHS and will always be my favorite...
I have also read the mangas ( Japanese comic books ) of Kaze no tani no Nausicaa ( or Nausicaa of the valley of the wind ) and i find it a good add on for those of you that liked the cartoon and that want to know more about the Nausicaa universe .
