Zeit der Wünsche (2005)
Through the exemplary romantic relationship of Mustafa and Melike the film talks about the hopes and dreams of Turkish immigrants living in Germany.
Through the exemplary romantic relationship of Mustafa and Melike beginning in their childhood which grows into an odyssey of epic proportions the film talks about the hopes and dreams and the struggle of Turkish immigrants living in Germany.
For some the effects of the encounter of traditional (not to say archaic) values of Anatolia with modern western worlds every day life in a German city (mainly Cologne) turns out to be more of a start to new horizons, for others a tragedy.
This movie is very touching with its sensibility and patience to let the story unfold, gaining its credibility by avoiding cliché-like sentimental solutions.
Lale Yavas (Melike) and Erhan Emre (Mustafa) give a great acting performance and their chemistry is that strong that you really feel that they were made for each other. No wonder the film was widely praised and won the "Adolf Grimme Price" in 2005.
I watch a lot of movies and i have to tell you that this one is a real pearl that justifies my highest recommendations. Berlin 2009 Greetings.. Thomas
