Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Slow, dull first third. Loved the rest of it.
Slow, dull first third. Loved the rest of it. I don't think they need to drag out the first 40 minutes.

1917 (2019)
Wow Cinematography
Some of the best cinematography I have ever seen. The movie itself is fairly boring and slow. Not a ton happens but I think that is the point. To show that war isn't just constant gunfire and explosions. There is a lot of travelling in between those more violent things and more too the soldiers involved.
This will win best cinematography at the Oscars for sure.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Why so long?
Why is this movie 3 hours? So much unnecessary crap in it. So many 'quirky' characters that they apparently needed to give time to. I thought it was pretty bad. Didn't mind the first one at all.
The Goldfinch (2019)
So.... Incredibly... Slow.....
I had heard good things about the book so I thought I'd check out the movie. I read it was a slow burn but my.... god.... was it ever.... slow..... 2.5 hours and nothing really seems to happen for the first 2 hours and 10 minutes. What was the point of this? Why was it so popular?
Secretariat (2010)
Why is every male so unlikable?
Every man in this movie seems to be an uptight a$$hole. They are all rude and condescending. I get it is probably for the time trying to show men not respecting women but I don't think that means every single man was a dbag at this time.
Rocketman (2019)
Why a Musical?
Why a Musical? Why not just tell us Eltons story? Do some live concert type stuff like Bohemian Rhapsody. The needless singing in scenes ruined it. Hopefully other movies about musicians do not follow this recipe.
Destroyer (2018)
Brooding Nicole
I heard this was a massive change in role for Nicole Kidman. It was but that doesn't make it entertaining or worth watching. She is just brooding around all movie. Not my cup of tea.
Widows (2018)
More Social Justice Warriors
Greetings again from the darkness. Woman power. Black power. Racist old white men. Corrupt politicians. Abusive husbands. Cheating white husbands. Racist cops. Men are bad. Women are strong and good. If a filmmaker were to blend all of these stereotypes into a single movie, then as movie goers we should expect an ultra-talented filmmaker like Steve McQueen to go beyond conventional genre. Unfortunately, a nice twist on the heist movie formula from Lynda La Plante's novel turns into predictability that whips us with societal clichés posing as societal insight.
The Oath (2018)
Awful
Wow, I'm not American so maybe that's why I didn't care for this movie at all but I thought it was terrible. So so bad. So political. Not funny. Reminded me of Hangover 3, what kind of movie was this?! Certainly not a comedy.
I'm sure the only people who like this are those that have similar political beliefs to the movies. Otherwise, DREADFUL.
Assassination Nation (2018)
No Good
Surprised by how high the overall rating is. This movie seemed like it was written by a 50 year old man trying to figure out what teenage girls in high school would talk like, with 30 year old actresses playing those high school roles.
There was no action at all in the first 50 minutes. I actually thought this was an action movie until then. At the minute mark, there is a data leak and all of a sudden its like a post apocolyptic town where everyone is trying to kill each other because apparently everyone in the town is having an affair or sending nude pics to somebody that they now need to kill somebody for.
It really makes no sense. Poor job of casting, no star power at all.
The Old Man & the Gun (2018)
Old fashion
Very old fashion movie. Demographics are definitely geared towards old people and Robert Redford fans. Not much else goes on for a bank robbery movie.
Welcome to Marwen (2018)
Semi Interesting Story
I was closer to a 6/10 before the third act but then it felt like it was dragging on quite a bit. A semi interesting story that should not have been dragged out for 2 hours. Almost would have been better as a short movie.
Very much enjoyed Leslie Mann and Steve Carrells characters and acting performances.
Fahrenheit 11/9 (2018)
Least Fav Michael Moore Film
I like Michael Moore. His filmmaking and firm beliefs. That said, this is the worst of his movies. It doesn't know what exactly it's supposed to be. Is it a Trump movie? A Flint movie? Gun violence movie? Pick a topic.
Traffik (2018)
Bad Acting
I was interested in the subject matter of the movie but the acting, specifically the actresses, were terrible. Anytime I see Paula Patton on a movie poster from now on, I will walk the other way. She looks and acts like a sack of potatoes. This movie definitely could have been better.
I do appreciate that the villains in this movie weren't just monsters where every person is piece of trash. The way the beef starts between the protagonist and antagonist seems more organic. Wrong place, wrong time that escalates quickly.
Otherwise, for those that have said this was much more than they expected, I can't relate. This was exactly what I expected all along.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
Intrugued at first but it lost me
I was definitely intrigued by this movie through act 1. I wanted to see more and know what was happening. The problem is, nothing ever really came of it. Some of the people I was interested in weren't on screen for long, other storylines never really went anywhere, weren't explained that well or seemed out of place.
This type of movie has definitely been done before where there are unique characters that you are trying to figure out and how they all fit together. I've even seen this same movie done in a hotel with the same idea.
I hoped for more, but give it a shot.
Death Wish (2018)
Bruce Willis is too old for this.
Seemed like a far less entertaining clone of Unbreakable. Bruce Willis is too old for this.
Black 47 (2013)
Dark, dreary
It's a very dark, grey, lifeless movie. I get it's setting the tone of the famine but it was boring. Surprised by the higher rating here on IMDB.
Bodied (2017)
Battle Rap
Second best battle rap movie I've seen. Very well done. Well acted. Good story.
The Festival (2018)
Funny but went on a little too long.
Funny but went on a little too long. Wanted more a glimpse of what these festivals are like IRL.
DriverX (2017)
A semi interesting look into what it's like to be a driver for a ride sharing company.
A semi interesting look into what it's like to be a driver for a ride sharing company. Decent acting. Ok story.
Under the Silver Lake (2018)
Interesting, fun Neo Noir film
Loved it. Wasn't expecting much but Andrew Garfield delivers a great performance. All acting was solid.
Blindspotting (2018)
Great
Had never heard of either of these main actors but they are both great. Really captures the lingo and vibe of the city.
Searching (2018)
Modern Crime Drama - Loved It
I thought this movie seemed cool but I wasn't sure how they were going to pull it off but everything was on point. John Cho was great in it, even if at some times you hate his character because he's such an overprotective dad. The way the story plays out is fantastic and how I would envision an average joe trying to solve a case in 2018 about a missing child.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018)
I went into this expecting nothing and knowing nothing.
I went into this expecting nothing and knowing nothing. Is this a kids movie? Do adults watch it? The reviews were pretty high so I checked it out.
I'm not a big fan of Jack Black so that combined with a child actor getting a big role made me skeptical.
It had a Night at the Museum feel to it. When the CGI ramped it, it got more entertaining but overall I felt the comedy was strictly geared towards children. Kinda of cheesy, lame jokes.
Columbus (2017)
Slow
Very boring and slow at times as they try to set the atmosphere of the sleepy town. Both main actors did what they could with the limited roles. If you like architecture then when they actually do talk may be interesting to you.
