All Good Things (2010)
Very Dark & Depressing
I am a huge fan of Ryan Gosling and also of Kirsten Dunst, but I did not enjoy watching this movie at all. It starts off well, with a beautiful love story, and about halfway in to the movie, it takes a turn and it becomes an extremely dark and depressing movie. While the acting is very good, I regret watching this movie. I had no prior knowledge of the storyline and after realizing that it is based on true events, in which the culprit got away with the crime, it left such a bad feeling in my heart. I do not recommend anyone else to watch it, as I don't wish to pass this negative feeling to anyone else. I much prefer The Fall Guy Ryan Gosling.
Rose Hill (1997)
Clean, innocent, heart warming
I came across this film while browsing through free YouTube movies. It is a sweet, innocent western film. A beautiful wholesome story of how a little girl changed the course of four orphan boys lives forever and brought the best out in them. I like that this is a film that the entire family could enjoy watching together. I was afraid to watch it when I read some of the reviews but I'm glad I did watch it because instead I found that I enjoyed watching it. After all the crud filled movies that are out, it was refreshing to find one that reflected sweetness and goodness in this world. Maybe that's why people have a hard time with it because they don't know how to enjoy innocent movies.
Holidate (2020)
Cheap and Dirty
I really wanted to like this movie. The main characters were likable and the story line was relatable and funny; however, I could not get past the gratuitous dirty talk. It ruined the movie for me and I couldn't continue watching it. I chose to turn it off rather then subject myself to anymore of it. Our society has really gone down the tubes if this is a representation of the new normal of how young people talk and interact
with each other. If you have teens, I do not recommend they watch this, or they'll learn some things you just might not want them learning about. A truly bad example for impresionable youth.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
NOT good.
I seriously considered walking out halfway through the film. It was so boring and every scene was unnaturally drawn out. I found myself thinking..."I wonder how long this movie is because it feels like it will never come to a resolution". I regretted going to the 10:30 pm showing because I would rather be home sleeping. I had such high expectations and excitement for it but it never even came close to meeting any expectation. Every scene was a let down. The main character Phoebe (played by Mckenna Grace) was so cute but it didn't help save the film...neither did Finn Wolfhard, with his great acting skills...Nor Paul Rudd who is such a likable actor. Sorry to say the side-kick character "Podcast" had such cheesy lines that it immediately made the character unlikable. I do not understand how even a die hard Ghostbuster fan could enjoy this, just because of the pandering to any previous Ghostbuster originals. The story line didn't make sense. It had too many weird and foolish gaps in it. And it ended with a pretty strange depiction of Harold Ramis. This film was a huge disappointment to me and everyone in my group felt the same. We felt like it was a dumbing down of society (with a poor script) and an overreaching, try hard sequel.
Only Murders in the Building (2021)
I love it!
When I saw the IG ad for this, I knew I would have to watch this. Steve Martin and Martin Short have always been some of my favorite comedic actors and the combination of them two along with Selena Gomez is so adorable. I absolutely love the show! It is so intriguing and funny. I seriously haven't laughed out loud this much in a long time. Besides the language (a little too much on the profanity for my taste) I am hooked. I also love Amy Ryan. She is such a likable actress. I was happy to see her role in this as well as Tina Fey's character. The show has so many great characters (all the building tenants) with so many funny scenes. It's my new favorite and I recommend it. I believe this show is a hit!
Hillbilly Elegy (2020)
An excellent film!
While this film was very sad, it also was very hopeful. l don't normally watch films with so many cuss words; however, this film depicts how a real family that is struggling lives. It didn't sugar coat it. It showed the love, hope, and hurt that families endure when a parent is abusive or has addiction issues (and may also come from an abusive background). It shows the grace that families will give one another because of their love for each other. That acting was superb!! Every character drew you in to their roles as if they were living it. I loved Glen Close as Mamaw. She was amazing. I love Amy Adams. Her beautiful smile lights up the screen and yet she was able to portray a darker, out of control, character so well. Both of the young men that played J.D. (Owen Asztalos & Gabriel Basso) portrayed their roles so well. You wanted to root for them to succeed. The sister (Haley Bennet) was so endearing how she displayed the love and concern of a big sister and love and patience for her out of control mother, yet being able to have a stable family herself. And lastly, his girlfriend was a great support role. I was very touched and moved to tears when she showed so much empathy towards him through the struggles he was going through. It was beautiful.
It's a sad movie to watch but I highly recommend it. It shows that anyone (no matter where you come from or what the color your skin is) if they are born into a difficult situation, they undergo the same struggles but also have the same opportunity to make better choices and create a better life for themselves. It leaves you with hope in humanity.
America, America, God Shed His Grace on Thee (2020)
Loved it!
Such an inspiring movie to watch right before the elections. I really learned a lot about Martin Luther King's fight for freedom, and Ronald Reagan and his interactions with Mikayla Gorbachev of Russia. A great blend of humor and heartfelt emotions. Too many great things to mention here. Just watch it for yourself. An amazing job!
Premonition (2007)
Depressing & Confusing
Extremely depressing movie. I regret that I watched it. I do not recommend it. Half the time you're trying to figure out if what you're watching is reality or an delusion. Not an enjoyable movie experience at all.
The Christmas Candle (2013)

Father Brown (2013)

Kevin (Probably) Saves the World (2017)
I Love this Show!
I love this show so much! I look forward to watching it each week and I'm so glad I can record it so I won't miss it. It's enjoyable, funny, heartwarming and leaves you feeling like you want to be one of those good people that make the world a better place. I think Jason Ritter does such an excellent job with his character. You can feel so much empathy for what he has gone through and how he's getting better. I love the relationship between he and his sister and his niece. It's so relatable...You feel the love and tension that real people would go through in their situation. I hope more people will hear about it and watch it too!!
