Doom Patrol: Done Patrol (2023)
Gone BUTT (Do not excuse the pun) Not Forgotten.
Well I have to say I can see why the show has ended with it having barely any body rating it and no reviews of the last episode.
It's kinda sad that these weird characters and even weirder story lines...even though the last season was less weird apart from the zombie butts.
I remember when the Doom Patrol characters popped up on a episode of Titans, I didn't think they would have their own series and lasted 4 seasons.
It was kinda confusing especially with distractions like a them entering a donkey's butt. But it ended up that they were experiments by The Chef for him to live long enough to see his slow aging Daughter grow up.
Anyway, as no one had left a review for the last episode, I felt they deserved a final farewell mention.
Especially as the DC series all seem to be getting dumped. (Super Girl, Bat Woman, Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Flash, Black Lightning, the afore mentioned Titans, Swamp Thing, Star Girl and more.
I wish they would now do a Justice League series with series characters Cyborg from Doom Patrol, Super Girl, Flash, Green Lantern (Diggle), Bat Woman, Stargirl and Black Lightning as the Justice League.
Halloween Ends (2022)
Fitting end or not?
Was it a fitting end or not?
Personally I don't care, as weird as this movie's story was it needed to come to an end once and for all.
The franchise was dragging on especially when they ignore parts and kinda reboot it...just stop flogging the dead Michael....or horse.
Anyway, the ending was good enough and I know we had Jason Vs Freddie. But the only disappointment for me is we never got the big showdown of Michael vs Jason.
Still, it looks like the end, even though they had a chance to carry on and maybe that was the original plan as the story looked like it was heading that way. But hey, it's a movie, they can always bring it back with some lazy story line like it was all a dream or use time travel nonsense.
Next!
Superman & Lois: Tried and True (2022)
No no no please don't ruin this great series.
I was pleasantly surprised when they brought Bizzaro into the story, he has a great background story, a powerful character and they just decide some regular dude inhaling some drug is more powerful than 2 Krypton's and the mighty Bizzaro and easily kills the latter thus ending any great story they had planned for him.
Did the writer leave and let the studio chef take over writing the script?
Then we have the useless wussy Sons which add nothing to the story, old over used and out of date drug story, making a mockery of the American military and another old and lack of imagination cheating Husband story thrown in too.
Finally we have scrawny Lois who looks ill, and being the mandatory annoying female like Felicity from Arrow and Iris from Flash. Plus I am still expecting the writers to turn Sarah into a lesbian just to tick a box.
This has been one of the best new series around for a while, don't turn this into a family drama series, keep up the high octane sci-fi, crime fighting superhero that we know and love plus the many wonderful characters that he has encountered over the years in the comics and leave the filler family drama stuff to the soaps.
Lethal Virus (2021)
Better than expected...
...OK don't get excited by the title of my review. Yeah it is better than expected but I expected it to be awful .
When seeing the title of the movie I was thinking another home made solo effort to add to the list of the ever growing movies...if you can call them that...that seems to be about.
In the trailer we saw some zombies and as I am trying to watch every zombie movie /series ever made we felt we had to watch this one too.
It turns out it's OK for this type of movie, plenty of action, the zombies and makeup are quite good and the acting as average at best and as expected.
What lets it down is the plot holes and continuity. One example is in a few minutes and pretty much the same scene it changes from night to day and back to night several times.
The other thing which was a let down is they didn't seem to know how to end the movie, surely they could of come up with a twist or something and not just end.
Anyway I gave this a 4 which is below average but not bad for a low budget zombie/virus movie. :)
Termination (2019)
Loads of spoilers Alert...however nothing really happens in this so there is nothing to spoil.
First of all ignore the picture and the description because none of it has anything to do with the collection of short...errr...things. I won't call them story because the writer of this forgot to major components, 1 is they forgot to write actual stories and 2 what they did write they totally forgot how to write endings. So basically this is a bunch of short random scenes.
1 has some astronauts in a space station above some planet/moon. One guy is on the planet investigating and trying to fix some broken equipment, runs out of air, takes off helmet n can still breathe. While another crew with in a ship docks to the other and nothing happens.
Then we see random woman wandering around shipping containers, passes out, scientist finds her n hooks her up to machine along with another random woman and nothing happens.
Then 2 people on a train are transporting some woman and some dead bodies. 1 opens a container with a body in and takes a ball out. He attack other dude n lets girl out but she kills him with bit of tin foil n throw ball which has nasty affects on those who touch it...now this starts to get interesting but then it has an anti-climax.. so once again nothing happens.
We then see a girl with tech stuff inside her all being hacked by another girl. This second girl is they able to take control of the first one including making her do martial arts even though she does not know how to do it. This is the best segment of this whole thing.
Then a coupled arrive at their apartments n find clones of themselves, they start fighting and trying to kill each other...i wont say who is who and who survives but once again there is a ant-climatical non ending.
Then we are back on planet from the 1st clip and n nothing happens.
Back in ship/space stations/whatever the Captain has killed someone with no explanation so they float him n then nothing happens.
The scenes are nicely made, not cheap looking but are just nonsense. What a waste of talent and money.
3 out of 10 for the effort, production and acting.
6:15 (2015)
Far from the worst in this genre but also not the best.
These votes and reviews are getting stupid now with people involved with the movie/series voting 10 and the trolls voting everything 1.
1st of all anyone who voted this 1 is either a troll or have only watched Disney movies before watching this. By rating it 1 it means the sound was so bad you could not hear any dialogue, the crew/mic boom ETC was in camera shot, you can hear the Director directing, the lighting was so bad you could not see anything, the script was immature and didn't make sense, the story didn't make sense, the actors were as wooden as door posts or over acted all the way through or the music was annoying/loud and/or out of place...yes I have seen movies like that...then you have valid reason's for voting this and other movies a 1 and only because you cannot vote 0. but this movie is not that bad.
You have to take into account...I know this is obvious but some people are so dumb you have to keep reminding them...that this is not high budget Hollywood movie with well known actors. The idea was OK, production was fine, script was lame and story was not thought through or well executed. The POV is not new even for this genre, some will find it annoying but i thought the idea is OK, however, whoever was using the POV camera was pretty useless. Walking around with hands out most of the time, when walking out of the house he was staring at other people instead of looking where danger was, in the car it seemed he was standing up and staring at driver instead of looking in the direction they are going and multiple times not looking where the action was.
There were other stupid things like the driver crashing for no reason, leaving good solid wooden doors open and just shutting the weak thin glass doors. The running and growling Zombies/Infected has been used many times and is fine, not all Zombie have to lumber along with arms out saying brains lol. There were parts of the script that were cringe worthy like when one of the characters shouts "They are coming back" and another replies "Where?" and she just stands there like a lemon with no reply like she wasn't given the rest of her script.
Anyway I won't tell you the story but I suggest you start the movie at 1 minute 14 seconds where the movie title comes up because the scene before that is a spoiler. There was a lot wrong with this but not anyway enough to give it a 1, I have seen a lot of movies in this genre...over 1500...and this is far from the worst but then again there are a lot of movies in this genre which are genuine 1 or 2 out of 10.
This could have been easily a 5 out of 10 but the script was the main let down along with POV camera operator, so I gave it a generous 4.
TZW4 Titan Base (2019)
Basically a reminder of what happened in the 1st movie but better...with a twist near the end.
The original characters from the 1st movie (Texas Zombie Wars: El Paso Outpost) are being questioned about what happened in that movie in between showing clips from the said movie too.
I'm sure they could of cut this in half and added it to the next movie as it seems like a bit of a filler to the series.
However overall the new parts look much slicker, better acting and a better production...plus this time it didn't have that annoying chopper popping up every 5 minutes like in the 1st movie lol.
Having watched the 1st and 2nd movies I would say to those who have not seen either that they should watch just this one as you get all the info from the 1st, less annoyance and a more professional feel to it, Plus from about 20 minutes from the end you get a twist and some new material.
Texas Zombie Wars: El Paso Outpost 4 out of 10.
Texas Zombie Wars: Titan Base 5 out of 10.
Due to be followed by:
Texas Zombie Wars: Hellfire
Texas Zombie Wars: Dallas
Storks (2016)
Very Nice Movie :)
As simple as that.
I just wanted to say that this movie kept me interested all the way through, had a really nice story, nice music, likable characters and voices.
Time flew past when watching it, the 90 minutes felt like about 45 minutes, there was plenty of action, great animation plus the babies were sooo kyoot...blah at spelling it correctly. :p
It was a welcome return of entertainment from a animated movie after that annoying Trolls movie with it's bad and cheesy awful singing every few minutes.
Would I want a sequel...nah...was so nice as it was...but then again I would watch the sequel. ;)
I thought it was a nice little nod at Aliens movie too but it does not list it in connections with the giant yellow machine..no?...well I thought so...so there. :p
As for the Wolfpack lol, they stole the show. Now a spin off with them would be kewl...haha spell check is gonna moan at this pfttt to it. :D Wolfpack submarine ...ping ping ping ...hahaha...too funny.
Overall it's a user friendly fun movie for all the family. :)
The Howling: Reborn (2011)
Average entry into a mostly bad franchise
I recently went through the Twilight movies, i had seen the 1st 2 a while ago but decided to revisit them again followed by the sequels.
After I had finished them i decided to go through The Howling movies, i was sure i had seen the 1st but did not remember any of it when i watched it recently followed by the much more many sequels than i thought it had.
There were some lame links between most of the Howling movies, they seem to be after thoughts but over all were pretty bad and disappointing. The Howling: Reborn felt like it was not part of the series and the fact that it was 16 years since the previous Howling was the reason. The previous Howlings all felt dated being made through the 80's and 90's but felt like 70's movies.
This movie was clearly made to cash in on the Twilight Sagas success. Landon's character kinda grew on me, Lindsey's character felt right from the beginning and Ivana's character was hot and the best in the movie. The rest of the characters were expendable as far as being interesting.
The acting was OK, the story was fine too, the werewolf transformation...when it finally happened...was kinda quick...but then again some of the other Howling movies the transformation was painfully slow. The werewolf look wasn't the best by any means especially as modern as this movie is. In the end it had a nice but predictable twist.
It is hard to compare this to the other Howling movies and other than all the action taking place in 1 building, it felt closer to the Twilight stuff than The Howling. Overall i think it matches the best of the Howling franchise and the worst of the Twilight franchise.
Howling franchise (My ratings):
The Howling (1981) (4/10)
Howling II: Stirba - Werewolf Bitch (1985) (3/10)

Howling VI: The Freaks (1991) (4/10)
Howling: New Moon Rising (1995) (2/10)
The Howling: Reborn (2011) (5/10)
Others worth mentioning for comparison:
Twilight franchise:
Twilight (2008) (5/10)
The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) (6/10)
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) (6/10)

Death Race 2050 (2017)
Some details about Death Race franchise and Death Race 2050 small review.
OK I just want to try to lessen the confusion about the Death Race movies.
The 1st movie should be watched 4th, the 2nd should be 3rd, the 3rd should be 1st the 4th should be 2nd, the 5th don't bother and the 6th...well...we will see.
OK that didn't help, but this might. ;)
This is supposedly the order they should be watched in:
Death Race 2 (2010)
Death Race Inferno (2013)
Death Race (2008)
Death Race 2000 (1975)
Death Race 2060 (2017)
Death Race Anarchy (2018)
Death Race 2 (2010) This is a prequel to Death Race 2000 with the introduction of the character Frankenstein and the 1st Death Race match. But also includes Sean Bean's character watching the original Death Race movie on TV during this Movie before they decide to invent Death Race.
Death Race Inferno (2013) This is a sequel to Death Race 2 with same actors and characters in the main roles. Also, prequel to Death Race 2000.
Death Race (2008) This was originally been going to be a sequel to Death Race 2000 but due to production costs the ambitious idea they had been scrapped and then some also say it's a remake but also like the previous 2 movies it's more of a prequel...work that one out lol. Some actors in the above movies were also in this as the same characters. David Carradine is the voice of the Frankenstein character and we see the character Machine Gun Joe for the 1st time played by Tyrese Gibson.
Death Race 2000 (1975) In the time line this is supposed to follow Death Race 2, Death Race Inferno and Death Race (2008) Sort of. You can now see the results from them not making up their mind what to make Death Race (2008) as Machine Gun Joe is white played by some actor called Sylvester Stallone ;) and David Carradine is Frankenstein who's voice we heard as Frankenstein in Death Race (2008) just before the then black Machine Gun Joe played by Tyrese Gibson killed him and was replaced by Jason Statham. Like the end of the 2008 movie they are now out of prison but the relationship between Frankenstein and Joe does not match the 2008 movie. There is also no Goldberg, Coach or Lists character in this. It feels really dated now but does feature lots of breasts. ;)
Death Race 2050 (2017) This was originally advertised as sequel to the other above movies and said to be finally a true sequel to Death Race 2000 Featuring once again Frankenstein character and his co-driver from Death Race 2000 Annie Sullivan. However just before watching it I saw it said sequel or soft reboot. Unfortunately it's the latter as the story does not follow on from Death Race 2000, Annie meets Frank for the 1st time, but they got Married in Death Race 2000. Does not feature Joe and once again features breasts plus some gore but that doesn't save the movie as it's style feels totally outdated. They tried to make this more comedy but none of it is funny. I personally enjoyed the 1st 3 movies in this list the most and this is the worst.
Death Race Anarchy (2018) This looks like this will be back to normal with Lists and Goldberg actors reprising their roles plus there is a Frankenstein character listed but long way down the list.
Whether you watch them in the order they are listed here or watch Death Race 2000 1st followed by Death Race 2050 and then the rest in the above order as a complete reboot is up to you. I would recommend watching them in order above and totally forget Death Race 2050.
By the way:
Deathsport (AKA Death Race 2050) (1978) This claims to be sort of sequel to Death Race 2000 but with motor bikes and also stars David Carradine but not as his Death Race 2000 character.
Cannonball (AKA Carquake) (1976) This one also starring David Carradine, plus uncredited appearance by Sylvester Stallone and directed by same director as Death Race 2000 is believed not to be connected. Neither is The Cannon Ball Run (1981), Cannonball Run II (1984) and Cannonball Fever (AKA Speed Zone) (1989).
The Gumball Rally (1976) This is not connected.
Death Racers (AKA Death Race 3000) (2008) This is another mockbuster movie from Asylum Movie company and is a cash-in on the 2008 Death Race. It features none of the characters from any of the Death Race movies and is bad even for an Asylum movie.
Need for Speed, Cars ;) and Fast & Furious franchises are not connected to the Death Race franchise.
Death Race (1976 video arcade game) This game was inspired by Death Race 2000. The game was remade in 1990.
Carmageddon (1997 video game) This game was also inspired by Death Race 2000.
Maze Death Race (1982 video game) and Deathtrack (video game) These might have also been inspired by Death Race 2000.
Roadwar 2000 (1986 computer game) This game was not inspired by Death Race but more based on Mad Max.
And finally.
In Death Race 2 we hear about a company called Weyland which was also in the Alien film franchise, not sure if there is a connection other than one of the producers and writers of Death Race 2 was also a producer and writer of Alien vs Predator.
Drive carefully now. :)
The Last Man(s) on Earth (2012)
LOL @ the fake reviews
Don't bother with this unless you want to watch for specific reason, I only watched because there were zombies in it but even they were few and far between.
If they had cut out the 1st hour of the movie would have been OK but as it is it is below average and is no where near as good as the fake reviews says it is lol.
Most of the reviewers became members around same time and have only reviewed this movie all giving it a glowing review. Obviously they are connected to the movie maybe cast and/or crew members.
It was only 86 minutes long but felt like 3 hours, it wasn't funny at all with childish lame humour that was so dull i began thinking what house work needed doing.
Shi cheng (2014)
Great movie with gorgeous girls, lots of blood, lots of action and lots of zombies...what more could you ask for? lol
After seeing the low rating and reading the one review I wasn't expecting much but I think the reviewer watched a different movie and should stick to Disney movies as this was great.
After watching the great (REC) 4 the day before where the original had a load of people trapped in an apartment block with infected people, this one also has a load of people trapped in an apartment block with lots of zombies. Along with a lot more blood, action and I mean a LOT of the afore mentioned zombies. Plus a load of scantily clad pretty girls, a couple, some military, old ex-fighter and army guy and many more characters all trying to escape.
The 2nd part of the movie shows an apocalyptic world over run with zombies, forcing people to live underground where the leaders surrounded by yet again more girls. These leaders force people to fight zombies for entertainment. Once again people are fighting to survive and escape this barbaric underground existence. But with zombies roaming above ground there is little choice of where to go.
Some of the CGI effects look a little cheap at times and sometimes it looks great with some neat effects. The whole look of the movie, the settings and zombie makeup is really good. There is quite a bit of female nudity, semi-nudity, sexual content, a bit of lesbian acts, lots of blood and gore, some bad language and lots of violence. If you don't any of that in a movie then go watch Frozen or something similar, as this is not the movie for you.
I watched this because I'm trying to watch every zombie movie and after seeing (REC) 4 yesterday and this today it's been a good couple of days and 2 great additions to my list of zombie movies seen. :)
Gave it 7 out of 10, one of the better movies in this genre.
The Coed and the Zombie Stoner (2014)
Boobs, Zombies, Boobs, Nude Girls and more Boobs ;)
I have to say i find movies by The Asylum are kinda amusing and for the budget they use they do OK. They have made some decent zombie movies too, but this was unexpected, not the usual Asylum movie, it worked and seems to be one of their higher rated movies so far.
The Asylum tend to mostly make their own straight to DVD version of the latest potential blockbusters usually with a budget of less than $1,000,000 and normally get their money back within a few months with channels like the Sy-Fy channel buying their stuff and of course the DVD sales.
The movie was reasonably funny, none of their usual cheesy effects, cute characters...thought the guys are dorks, with some references to other zombie movies like the flash back called 28 days earlier and a cat called Romero. ;) The lead actress is good and cute, there is some mild gore, the zombies are not your usual zombies, they are a bit lame at times and there is plenty of young female skin...if you like that sort of thing ;) (Movie starts with 2 full frontal girls and plenty of boobs to follow and more).
Anyway the story is a sorority girl who seems a bit of a nerd, starts dating a zombie....jeez she could do much better, she's hot. ;) but thankfully a zombie apocalypse breaks out and its up to our nerdy girl to save the day when she discovers a cure.
Another movie added to my ever growing list of Zombie movies... 646 titles and counting lol.
BTW nothing wrong with running zombies, if they are recently infected and not too damage then why can't they run? :p
Age of Tomorrow (2014)
People are comparing this to Edge of Tomorrow ;)
Not seen Edge of Tomorrow but I would guess with a budget of nearly 180 million and few years to complete compared to Age of Tomorrow with just 1 million and made with in a few weeks well... I let you decide.
Considering the time to make and the budget this is one of Asylum's better movies, certainly the effects, props and sets are some of the best I have seen from them. Plus Edge has yet to cover its budget with the box office takings and Age will cover its budget within 3 months like all of the Asylum movies do.
All that aside I guess people are thinking they are similar movies by the title and I expected the same, from what I have heard and read Edge's story is nothing like Age's story, the only similarity is the title. I can see similarities with Armageddon, Aliens, Avatar ETC but not Edge.
Back to Age of Tomorrow, we have the usual new or has been actors, with average performances, special effects, sets and props I have already mentioned but what lets it down more than anything is the messy, flawed, goof ridden make it up as they go along story.
With this all said it is an average movie with all things considered, but could have been an above average 6 or 7 if it had had a more thought out story.
The Night They Returned (2004)
Night of the Cleavage with innards, bondage and Zombie Vs. Swamp Monster
Story of 3 Sisters living together, 2 lesbian-ish twin blonde Sisters and their younger brunette Sister with telekinesis powers. The blonde's lure guys back to their place, mostly with their ever showing cleavage and then kill them in many different ways while their little Sister is chained up in the bedroom in case she uses her powers to control them, but also to try and stop her reading the dieing thoughts of the male victims. They then cut up the dead guys, eat parts, save some parts in the fridge and the rest gets thrown into a lake.
All this goes on and on over and over in a boring repetitive way for pretty much the 1st hour in a movie that isn't much longer than an hour. Oh and there is a rotting corpse of the cleavage Sister's dead Father at their place to watch over their antics too. To top it all off the lake where they have been throwing body parts has had some sort of toxic waste thrown into it which some how creates a swamp monster from the body parts.
I only watched this as it was listed as a zombie movie and i am trying to watch every zombie/infected movie and finally with about 5 minutes left of the movie, zombie Dad suddenly wakes up and fights swamp monster. So it's probably best to start watching about 50 minutes in to the movie because you won't have missed anything interesting before then. They should have made this a 15 minute short movie.
Overall its all bad acting, boring, repetitive, nonsense with annoying random songs.
2/10
Run! (2013)
Cambodian zombie/infected movie
While searching for zombie movies a friend of mine came across this and told me about it. I realised it was a Cambodian movie, IMDb lists just over 200 Cambodian movies and i don't remember ever seeing one before so i was curious to see what they had done with this movie.
It s a shame the sound is hit and miss, like they are using the came microphone rather than a boom or whatever movies use. I have seen many zombie movies (around 600ish so far) especially low budget ones and this is not bad at all considering Cambodian movie scene is sill in it is infancy and the low budget they had.
I would give a more detailed review of the story but i saw a review by Stuart Wilson that is linked from the IMDb site which i think describes it well and you can read it here. HTTP://hoopla.nu/films/run I have seen a lot better than this but then again i have seen a hell of a lot worse than this too and overall i liked it and if you like this type of movie i would say it is worth checking out.
Zombie Dawn (2011)
MUCH better than expected
Previous reviewer called this amateurish trash, he obviously has not seen many movies and certainly not many zombie/infected movies, It isn't World War Z or 28 Days/Weeks Later but i could probably list 100 movies in this genre alone that are worse and more amateur than this that have over 50 times the budget this has.
I was not expecting much from this movie especially when i saw the budget was ONLY $600, i still find it hard to believe it was only $600 considering the quality and effects. The explosions and blood effects alone were pretty good and the effects the guns shots had were pretty neat with blood and dust flying up. The acting is gritty and not bad at all especially when you see that the cast have hardly done anything before. Everything you read about this movie tells you it is very amateur but everything you see in the movie doesn't look so amateur. Which leads me to think he didn't actually watch the movie lol.
Anyway after the exciting opening scene things slow down a bit as it jumps 15 years forwards. By that time the infected would or should have decomposed and died out and a group of so called mercenaries and scientists finally decide to go and check the quarantined area out to try and find out what happened. Once inside the area they find they are not alone and meet with some resistance as well as unrest within the team. The movie picks up a bit again about half way through. Some of the script is lame but again the people behind the scenes of the movie (Directors, Writers etc) have done very little else so this is still a decent effort for what is a 1st time project for some of them.
This is one of the better Zombie/Infected movies especially with the budget and experience they had and believe me there is a lot of trash ones out there and they don't come much worse than Killing Spree , check that out if you want to see amateur awful movie lol.
This one will sit proudly in my ever growing list of Zombie movies seen. :)
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013)
Movie was fine in my opinion. :)
Movie was fine and entertaining.
I'm not going to give lots of details about what happened in the movie but just wanted to comment about what a lot of other people had said about it.
It feels like much of the hate must be from people trying to just buck the trend or with some emotional spur of the moment thing going on lol. Some people gave it 1 star which... according to them... makes it one of the worst movies ever made (worse than Battlefield Earth, or Killing Spree?? lol), but there are a lot of 10 star ratings... (So it was as good as The Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction etc??)... too which always makes you think they were people involved with the movie but then again maybe people rate them in on their expectations of the movie compared to what they actually get, rather than rating in comparison to other movies?
It had a budget of $60 million and box office was around $76 million most likely way down on what they though it would be but not exactly a big flop, yeah there was probably millions spent on promoting but they probably made up for that and more with DVD and BR sales and rentals, and looking through various sites, the critics reviews seem to be around average or just below and cinema goers reviews seem to be average to above average. At the time of typing this it has a 6.1 rating on IMDb which shows that most here think it is at least better than average.
This movie is about getting to know the characters, an intro into the series if you like, there will be loose ends because there will be at least one sequel. The next movie will be much the same plus developing the characters with a big finale or if there is a 3rd and final movie the big finale will be there, that is usually how it works. There will always be similarities and comparisons... (Twighlight, Harry Potter, Stargate, Underworld... whatever!)... to other movies when especially when they are in the same genre, it would be almost impossible to make the movie 100% unique.
As for always comparing movies with books people will nearly always prefer the 1st version of something they read, see, hear etc which most often than not is the original, whether it be a book, movie, TV series or music. Its pointless reading the book and then moaning that it is not as the same. Making it exactly the same... which is hard anyway across the two completely different formats... would be also pointless as once you have read or seen one then there would be no point reading or seeing the other and people would still moan because its the same.
I agree it was a little too long and also agree with someone who mentioned the film score, it does seem somewhat out of place, like it was taken from another movie plus a lot of scenes were too dark, not much point spending money on filming a scene that no-one can see, but over all it was fine and entertaining. :)
BTW Took me a while to recognise Robert Sheehan, he was funny in Misfits TV series. :)
Pop Punk Zombies (2011)
Okies my lil' Review ;)
This is an awesome, potential Oscar winning movie, about an entertainment specialist that has a genius idea of waiting for the undead to rise, turn them into a punk band which will create lots of publicity and make them very rich but i was hoping the undead would bite them, kill them and turn them into zombies too and thus creating zombie apocalypse which is a much better idea.
I also think a remake would be good starring Stallone, Arnie, Statham, Van Damme, Norris, Dolph etc and maybe entitle it Deadspendables, but they should also add aliens who come down and tell the leaders of the world that they are responsible for the zombie outbreak and also admit they were also responsible for the outbreak thats caused Night, Dawn, Day, City, Land, Island, House, Strippers, Return, Plague, Bunnies, and so forth of the Living Dead, plus Zombi 1 to 99, also 28 Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, Years Later and the other 800 or so Zombie/infected/voodoo type movie thingies.
They will then explain that the idea was to try and naturally wipe out humans on earth and make it look like humans did it themselves, they would go on to say that they originally created the humans to make a giant living computer to try and find the answer to life, sex, Justin Bieber's success, the universe and other mysteries but they got bored of waiting for the answer and decided to remove humans and put the dinosaurs back that they borrowed quite a few years earlier.
OK this silly review was done because it was a silly movie and it got the review it deserved. ;) Seriously taking into consideration that this has a budget of $5000 and almost all people involved have not been in anything else before and since and at the time is the only movie the director had directed, the movie was OK, at least they made an effort...of sorts. ;)
The drawings by the end titles were nice lol and also wait for the blooper shown during the titles its fantastic, i have never seen anything like that happen before in my life, in fact they should make a whole movie about that blooper it was amaz... ahh OK i started getting silly again. :p
Basically its not gonna be anywhere near the best movie you have ever seen, not even in this genre of movie but then again its not the worst either... actually... i just want to end by quoting something one of the other reviewers mentioned...
"What type of person watches a movie called "Pop Punk Zombies," a straight to video home made cheeseball gore flick, with a budget of $5000 none the less, and expects ANYTHING other than EXACTLY what we got?"
...exactly, that sums it up nicely. :)
Zombie Night (2013)
I just had to write this :)
I wasn't going to write a review but I just wanted to comment on what one reviewer said.
He said he only watched the first 15 minutes of movie then went on to mention about the car blowing up near the start, well that car was around 65 minutes into the movie no where near the start and obviously he watched more than the first 15 minutes if he saw that lol.
He also mentioned about he couldn't sit through 2 hours of the movies, well... he is right no-one could quite simply because the movie was only 85 minutes long lol.
Oh well, I have to say that Asylum do seem to make decent zombie movies probably because the other movies in this genre are usually very low budget and Asylums 1 million budget is one of the bigger ones compared to other Zombie movies so they tend to look quite good in comparison.
Anyway I do agree with one comment the reviewer made and that was Shirley Jones playing Nana was very annoying. Overall there was plenty going on in the movie, the Zombies were quite good even though the acting and story was little cheesy I was entertained.
That's another Zombie/Infected movie seen and added to my ever growing list. :)
Goremet, Zombie Chef from Hell (1986)
Dreadful
Lame script + bad story + pointless scenes + horrid score + no lighting + bad quality + poor effects + lack of suspense + little horror + some nudity but not worth mentioning + people giving it 10 stars + almost incoherent sound + the whole thing presented very badly = in the bottom 3 movie I have ever seen.
Thank goodness most the people involved in this never made anything else. I know this is low budget even for 1986 but was still dreadful quality and no excuse for bad acting and script.
I gave 1 star for the accidentally amusing nude dancing scene and for actually making a little bit of an effort to make a movie. lol
The Dead Inside (2013)
I was very entertained by this great, gritty infected/zombie movie
A previous reviewer mentioned about the quality of the movie, how mundane it was with dialogue was delivered with no conviction like he expected this to be a huge blockbuster Hollywood movie. Then went on to say that running zombies aspect is wasted on him, well it certainly was. Long gone are the slow creeping along zombie with arms out stretched saying "brains", those zombies were fine in their day but the new style of fast runners like in the 28 Days/Weeks movies are certainly welcome in my mind. When someone is freshly infected why not be as active as they were when they was not infected, it all depends on the damage they received surely? As for being boring this move was far from boring with plenty of action, fast infected people, shooting, blood, decent effects, acting is OK (one or 2 people were not that good) with most of the actors not been in much else they were better than expected. The story kept moving along with characters developing, new characters being introduced, events going on inside their temporary residence as well as outside. You can't compare this with Night of the Living Dead, it reminds me more of the 28 Days/Weeks series but with probably a 10th of the budget but was far from being 1 10th entertaining, in fact this could have been a spin off from that series.
You can see the list of zombie movies I have seen and I can tell you there is a lot of movies with higher budget than this and have been complete trash, this is one of the best I have seen for a while. I think a lot of people won't get it, because its more gritty and realistic (As far as infected stories go) and not the Hollywood perfect crisp witty dialogue, with S L Jackson strutting around being a mo-fo popping caps in people butts or Mr Willis trying to be funny every other line and being the big hero. Its not that type of movie.
Someone said the Zombies should look deceased, i guess where they live as soon as someone dies they are immediately grey with bits dropping off lol. Being supposedly set in London there are plenty of people to keep a fresh supply of infected around. Not quite sure why there is so much hatred towards this movie in the message boards either, I know someone involved with the movie commented how good it was which was to be expected and everyone seemed to pounce on them and unfairly totally slag the movie off like it was the worst movie ever made. Just check out Killing Spree or Bloodlust Zombies if you want to see a truly dreadful Zombie movies.
This was close to 2 hours but felt half that length and kept me fully entertained and inspired me to write this to put my point of view across as I felt the other comments seemed more like comments from another movie. The one thing I was little disappointed with was the end but then again I guess it leave it open for a sequel...I hope :) By the way, I have nothing to do with this movie, I was not involved in making it, I am just a lover of Zombie movies and this one is one of the best in its genre. The DVD is very welcome on the shelf next to the 28 Days/Weeks, World War Z, Night/Dawn/Day/Return/Land/Survival/Diary ETC, ETC of the Living Dead, The Battery, Dead Snow, Outpost series, (REC)/Quarantine series, Dead Air, The Dead and many more including the Walking Dead TV series.
It may not be the very best but its certainly way, way above the worst and definitely worth checking out.
Pacific Rim (2013)
Worth a watch, entertaining but disappointing still
Great special effects, lots of action. That's what made it good.
Cheesy acting and script and predictable story was a little bit of a let down and not what I expected but probably intentional.
The commentary at the beginning bringing us up to date and making it feel like we are starting on the 2nd movie of a trilogy was the disappointing bit.
With movies like this we like to see it all beginning, the unexplained, the learning, the surprise and the 1st glimpse of the aliens/monsters but we start several years into the war.
Perhaps next movie is prequel but then again we know what happens as we were told so that wouldn't work. What would be cool was if they visited the Alien world some more.
I think Cloverfield could fit into this series though, the monster/alien had similar look about it and would explain where the Cloverfield monster came from lol.
I preferred the Godilla movies especially the latest ones where they build giant robot to fight the big monster....sound familiar? lol Overall I was entertained by Pacific Rim and it's worth a watch.
Smallville (2001)
Sorry i didn't get back sooner
My life got quite busy and I stopped watching Smallville for a while, when I checked back to see how far I had got into the series I saw that it was only the last series I had left to see. I also didn't realise that it ran for 10 seasons, it didn't seem that long but that's a mark of a great and entertaining series. I think it broke the record for the longest running American science fiction series or something like that.
It was a brilliant series with great actors playing great characters in great stories. It kept us hanging on for a long time for Clark to be who we always knew he was going to be. So I am typing this just to let you know how great this series was and to say thank you for all those involved in making it.
I'm sorry I didn't get back to the final series sooner but I'm glad I did because it was fantastic. I thought I might be sad when it ended but I knew it wasn't the end, it was the beginning. A perfect ending to a wonderful series.
Here's to many more great series like this and the super man himself whether it be on radio, on TV, in a movie, in a book, a comic or wherever I say also here is to Superman a super fictional hero :)
Nomad: The Beginning (2013)
Boring, don't bother with it
Not very long movie but seems long drawn out.
The characters are forgettable and by the end I didn't care who lived or died, there was no suspense, not much action, a lot of confusion and a lot more just plain nonsense. Add to that the acting was below average, music was bland and script dull I just wanted to fast forward it but needed to watch it all to do a review and no point reviewing a movie without watching it all.
The sound was hit and miss, at one point it sounded like it was added on afterwards and another point Marianna was moving her lips like she was talking but no sound came from her.
Michael Madsen seems to be the main actor according to the movies website but he was hardly seen in it and wasn't even listed in the cast list on IMDb, maybe he asked not to be included and I wouldn't blame him Lol.
Oh and the ending, that was lame too.
Yaawwwn.
