Slumber Party Massacre III (1990)
The series goes back to it's old ways....sorta.
I haven't seen the second one, nor do I plan to since I watched the trailer for it since it was in the "Extras" section for SPM 1. I figured this one would have been good since it seemed that'd it be much like the first one. Not only that, they tried to add some storyline to it, which would have been nice if it was done correctly.
The acting is decent compared to other horror slashers, though it was pretty bad in some parts. There is some nice gore as well, which is always a plus. I can't say much here about the movie without spoiling it, but expect A lot of lampshades getting smashed over a psychopaths head and a lot of women running from window to window in an attempt to escape.
I would only watch this movie with friends for laughs, other then that avoid at all costs.
Dumbest line: "No! You can't kill someone that's just lying there." Why not? He seemed to have a good time doing it to your friends...
Dead Rising (2006)
What a let down.
I'm sad to say, I had high hopes for this game, I mean, Capcom adapting an old horror movie plot to make a game, what could possibly go wrong? Well for starters, you have to have a HDTV to enjoy this game, as Capcom being careless put in the smallest of text, I bet though even if I had a HDTV, I don't think I could read the text it goes so fast.
I would also be able to enjoy this game if Otis didn't call like every two seconds, seriously, they let you kill everyone EXCEPT him, its like that freaking radio on Metal Gear Solid, only this happens every two seconds, and it won't stop either till you answer it, so if you're in the middle of fighting a boss, mute your TV, because if you answer, you won't be able to use any weapons, making you a sitting duck, oh and what gets me, when you hang up, he calls back, and says "Don't hang up on me like that, its rude!" well what do you expect Frank to do when hes fighting off a mall full of zombies, chainsaw wielding Clowns, Crazed Market owners chasing you down with rigged up shopping carts, when hes the one calling us distracting us, and he calls us rude?! Some of the missions are stupid, I mean really, Oh, were in a mall full of zombies, what will we do? Oh I know, lets act like we're playing Pokemon snap! Seriously, whose bright idea was that? This could've been a good game if there we're a few less annoying things, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next Dead Rising is better, mainly for us poor people that can't afford a HDTV.
The Good: Zombies and gore, can't go wrong with that, and all of the references to other Capcom games.
The Bad: Everything else.
Overall grade: D- Final thoughts: I suddenly want to buy a Burger from Jill's sandwiches.
Shaun of the Dead (2004)
Much better then I thought it would be
I thought this was going to be dumb, another comedy spoof of a horror movie, boy was I wrong; it was more serious then anything close to the end, it is also fairly funny though David tended to get on my nerves *belive me you'll love how he dies!* I also loved that they used some classic tunes from the old Dawn of the dead for instance the "Mall Muzak" *think thats what its called?* and a few others, sometimes I wish I had a dubber for it because sometimes the actor's accents kick in real bad and the speak super fast it gets hard to follow at times, other then that, awesome.
despite being a comedy; it is rather gory when it comes to deaths *Mostly David's!* the acting was rather good too; as well as the humor, Rent this movie; if you love it, buy it, hell I just had it turned on PPV and bought it on DVD the next day.
A little slow paced at the start though, but once Shaun and his Girlfriend break up and the zombies start, thats when it gets rather good and funny.
Love how instead of going to the mall they head to a bar, clever ;)
10/10
Popcorn (1991)
A good time classic
This has got to be one of my old favorite horror flicks, I remember renting this when it first came out, and I loved it since then!
The storyline of this movie is so classic and original, but thats what it made it so great!
I was a little shocked to read that Toby (Tom Villard) had passed away, I had no idea, he was one of my favorite movie psychos, and I was wondering if he'd be in any other movies...R.I.P Tom Villard.
If you haven't seen this movie, rent it now! Or since its been released on DVD, pick it up! remember, "Buy a bag, go home in a box." !
