Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)
Messy Steampunk Story - But better than the 1st part
The story is silly and messy, but it's good/ok entertainment. No masterpiece, for sure. However, let it flow and relax while watching. If you miss a dialog or scene, it's uncritical, and you won't be more lost than watching it end 2 end.
I'm always wondering if everyone involved doesn't see the story gaps or doesn't care. Maybe it's related to our brain's inability to follow/handle complex stories while watching the movie. So, either CGI or story, but not both.
And it became CGI, trying to compensate for the thin story, which it does pretty well. Mix Star Wars, and Mad Max, starship Troopers ... and you see the result in the Rebel Moon movie. What's missing is a bit.of Aliens...
Lift (2024)
I stopped after 35 minutes...
After falling asleep several times because it is soooo booooring. The story is kindergarten, no action, no horror, no sex, nothing. Only super-polished boring scenes stitched together. The characters (it's the wrong term anyway) are clinical clean and, did I mention, booooring.
Don't waste your time. You can do better things like: nose boring, hit your thumb with a hammer, shoot yourself into the?foot... everything will be better than watching this booooring crap.
It's even hard to come up with enough characters for this review, 65 to go..... approaching 35 and seeing the finish line coming closer... DONE!
Nowhere (2023)
Too much illogicality...
The context story is fully irrelevant because it doesn't add anything to the movie. The main problem of the script is, that there is too much illogical stuff happening. That's a petty. Without that it would be much, much better.
Filiming is great, acting is good, but killed by the stupidity of some actions.
Many movies are sharing this problem. It's too much they want to pack into 90-120 minutes. Less would be more.
And now I need to write some filling text to match the message length, but there is not more to say to this movie. If it?s in space, water, planes, ships, cars, or whatever you can imagine: mostly the same ppot.
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
I want my time back... Silly as it can get.
The story has a good start, and you feel there is somethings strange going on. Thuigs go a bit back and forth before turning into a totally nonsense. The story unhides as a big mess of esoteric BS.
Why? Looks like the writers didn't had any ideas how to continue from the middle. The simplest solution is to mix psychopaths, esoteric and mystery and the just coma to a silly end in time and budget.
Now I need to fill some more text that I can submit my review, but there is not much to say about this mini series... Nice try which failed apically... It's better and more fun to stare out of the window.
Blood & Gold (2023)
Fun and good entertainment
It's a good homage to Tarantino with it's own style, humor and slapstick mixed with splatter. The pace is good and the story swings between a serious WWII drama and turns back to the funnily absurd story. I like this back and forth, and it gives good twists. Of course, all cliches are delivered and you know who is good and bad right away. However, it doesn't hurt the film nor the fun.
I think this is one of the better Netflix movies and it's great to see that Netflix takes such a genre and movie style into account. Hopefully we see more films like this.
The CGI could sometimes be a bit more realistic, but I'm complaining on a high level...
The Weekend Away (2022)
Bad story, scrambled plot, bad acting, unprofessional footage.
This looks like absolute beginner's work. Long parts with useless story elements, and then someone combines everything out of thin air to solve the wanne-be p ot twists. Throw in some really bad acting... I first thought this is developing into a comedy style... But no, that acting is meant to be serious. Waist of time, and one of the worst Netflix films.
The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Why?
No meaningful plot, no thrill, just: hmm...A waste of time, if you like such comical films watch Sin City... much better. Only having a good cast doesn't make a good film. Don't understand why people rate this film high... maybe everyone thinks it's super intelectual.
Red Dot (2021)
Nice idea... stupid and bad plot
Unlogical behavior of characters, unrealistic situations (break into lake), could have been a good film... instead it's just lame.
Bajo cero (2021)
Plot gaps everywhere / silly
Nice idea but such a bad plot... unbelievable bad. All characters act as silly as possible. Oh yah, you learn that it's soooo cold in Spain. Fully stupid story...
Outside the Wire (2021)
Nice accessory, awful plot...
The ingredients are there but the plot is so low level and stupid that it destroys the film... feels like it all was rushed through to deliver something. No need to view it...
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Deep message? Then write a better story...
Those thinking there is a hidden deep message are fooled... This movie is just a random collection of scenes with no story line. If the authors wanted to give a message, well, wrong film setup, just doesn't work... waste of time. 2* because it's visually pretty good but wrecken by no story at all.
La belva (2020)
Slow Mo Action / Plot gaps & mess
The movie starts OK and then the plot becomes a mess... and the action scenes are boring. No need to view it.
The Last Days of American Crime (2020)
Best part is Personal Jesus from DM
But you have to jump directly to the end credits to avoid watching the movie. Awful senseless story... waist of time.
Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018)
Thin, faulty, focus on selling part 3
Way to many erros, super thin and unlogical story... If part 3 is not getting better rating than part 1 I'm not even think about viewing it...
Screenwriters should seek for a new job... awful.
xXx: State of the Union (2005)
Good candidate for the worst movie in 2005
If you want to waste your money, time view this movie. It's bad, simply bad. Even the effects are technically bad. I don't expected a good story but good pictures... but it's just bad.
The best is the "pimp my ride" association. But that's it. The story doesn't has a straight line, it's just unrelated action sequences. The first part was funny in a lot of scenes. The first part didn't took itself that serious. That was good. The second part really needs a new xxx and if possible a complete new xxx production crew.
I hope you didn't invested in this movie. This thing might be sunk money.
