The Great Invisible (2014)
Humans A Failed Experiment
Big Oil own the WORLD..YOUR World..OUR World. Politicians OWN Your World OUR World. Americans esp view politics as a Sports game. Their Team MUST WIN...no matter whether it crosses moral lines...the amount of bloated greed it involves...the pyramid of LIES it takes to be brainwashed..the complacency it takes to not do diligence to sort facts from fiction. The Gulf Oil Spill was plain LAZINESS on the part of BP. We are dealing with the same potential CRISIS up in the Great Lakes with the ARMY ( dragging their ass) and BIG OIL refusing to abide by Michigan Government restrictions allowing a potential Economical Disaster to maybe occur in the region. When will we learn to PROTECT the incredible gifts we have been given and deny the ADDICTION to GREED?
Infinity Pool (2023)
I loved every minute of it.
First off I'm going to say that the ambient music during the credits was a major bonus. Overall the music and visuals were outstanding. Very Trippy. I admit I was confused by the end of the movie. A writer and his wife take a trip to a Foreign Country where the penalty for murder is execution. There is a way out for the very wealthy though..you can pay to have your double take your place at the execution. Yes..they have a process wherein they create an exact double of yourself..memories and all in The Infinity Pool. The writer and his wife initially meet up with another couple and after an afternoon and evening with some unusual occurrences the writer sets himself up to experience this odd double requirement. Soon the writer meets a Troupe that seem to get a kick out of pushing the bounderies of the murder process. Then thing get confusing.....You'll be scratching your head by the ending. If you like the elder Cronenberg's movies I'm pretty sure you will enjoy this one. Exquisite camera work, outstanding acting,a beautiful soundtrack. Questions at the end! What's not to like?!
Cosmopolis (2012)
Loved the movie but the best part is the ambient music.
Everyone has made a good case for seeing this movie...What I found absolutely stunning? The gorgeous ambient music. Not the " actual songs"....the music that sets the mood. Fantastic!
Tenet (2020)
Met my expectations.
1ST, I'd like to say, Patterson finally, for me,was enjoyable to watch. I thought he did a fine job( unlike many reviewers). I made it through the movie just fine. It wasn't exceptionally heady but definetaly worthy of a 2ND viewing....as was Inception..to go back and appreciate the concept and portrayal of the plot. Nolan blows me away...he is a visionary....an imagination specialist. Minor nitpicking aside Tenet is light years ahead of most films today..a film that you must invest yourself in.
The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020)
This is flying right over so many heads.
I would not call this movie a comedy. One review hit it right on the head...Fargo meets X Files with a dash of David Lynch. In my eyes the over the top antics of Cummings was representative of an individual suffering from past addictions and unable to properly handle the calling of being the Sheriff. I sensed ,at times,a dark humor, but it did not take away from the overall horror aspect of the storyline. While Cummings acting turned off a good many watchers... I found him fascinating...Add to that an excellent supporting cast. MORE!!!!
Drag Race Thailand (2018)
FUN!
Who wouldn't want more of a good thing! It's different from RuPaul...I like the music selections....they seem less experienced but their enthusiasm makes up for it.A Joy to watch!!!! In the first challenge they were suppose to make outfits surrounding a theme of the contents of a personally assigned box .I have to say....these girls are multi talented!!!! Kinda like Project Runway meets Drag Race.A MUST WATCH!!!
Mr. Robot (2015)
I knew before it ended I would miss these characters
How am I going to find another series where I get so attached to the characters? I purposely tried not to quickly finish Season 4..I knew I would miss watching. This Series is up there with Six Feet Under( the 1ST Series I ever watched) and Battlestar Galactica.I am slightly confused with the ending....but I'll work through it.Absoutely an AMAZING experience! Loved ALL the characters.Rami is a joy to watch.CRAZY GOOD!
Electric Dreams (2017)
Superlative Adult ScI Fi story telling.
I can understand how many are disappointed that the episodes do not mirror PKD's actual storylines.I have not read much PKD in my 55 years of Fantasy/ Sci Fi fandom( started reading Sci Fi at 10..maybe earlier) but I believe these episodes reflect PKD's vision & style.I enjoyed them immensely and I did not foresee their endings. The actors were well chosen and included many of my favorites. The ambient music was exemplary.I'm 65 and you can tell this series was lovingly put together by peers of my age group and fan level. This series rises well above the tired old lawyer/ police/ hospital dramas that networks love to bore us with.No surprise that a 2ND Season was not started/ funded...it's just TOO good for the general public to appreciate
Hungry Wives (1972)
Hi Jan White
Thanks for all the info.Joedda aparently did not act again in any filming..she may have just got caught up the typical age phenomena of the times....getting pregnant....starting a family..or running around searching for happiness.Let's hope it was as positive as that.I just watched this and I thought you did a fantastic job capturing the emotions going thru the character's mind.I enjoyed the film.I was 17 in 1972....I don't remember my Mom dressing so groovy! The clothing and hairstyles were wild! I enjoyed the electronic music and of course Donovan's song captures the era so well. Were you and the other actors friends of Romero?
The Outer Limits: The Probe (1965)
Every episode to be cherished.
I do not remember seeing this episode when I was 10 the year it was aired. The Original OUTER LIMITS was( and still is) my favorite TV show of the 60s.We were lucky indeed to be watching in the 60s..The Man From Uncle,Get Smart,The Avengers,The Prisoner,Rat Patrol, the Invaders,The Twilight Zone, etc etc.The Outer Limits was the pinnacle of Sci Fi entertainment for me.The music was esp captivating.A shame it only last 2 seasons. It's a treat to watch even the weaker episodes..searching for imagery I missed the prior times before.I cherish very episode!
Night Hunter (2018)
Surprisingly good.
There was an interesting surprise.Superb Acting.Very short introduction to character history which was well played. What's not to like?
Coherence (2013)
Fun Movie!
Watch it....I liked the premise and I thought it was executed well.Unlike some reviewers the conversation was as normal as pie...I agree that I found the escalation of worry and violence unrealistic.Freaked? For sure....and yes I would have tried to converse with "myself". It was fun to watch...the ending could have been better...I did not notice the camera work because I was super focused on the film.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
***k the bad reviews
***k the bad reviews....this was A RIOT to watch....I watched it twice back to back. What's not to like?
Alien: Covenant (2017)
What's not to like?
I'm not sure why there is so much whining. This is a VERY DARK film with some wonderful story development and visual details.I liked Prometheous but I wasn't completely happy with it..that being said...it made up for the 3RD & 4TH sequel disasters to ALIEN.All I can say is I loved Alien Covenant. I understand how many can be unhappy with it....AGAIN...it is DARK...I can't wait till the next film in this story comes to light.Give it a watch.....again.....if need be....
Riders to the Stars (1954)
The freakout scene is worth the watch.
Space accident reveals gruesome outcome....creepy!!!!!!
Nightflyers (2018)
I like it!
Bing watching....Visuals are excellent.Ambient music is excellent.I find all the actors interesting..esp how disturbing they all are in some way.Stories move at a good pace. There are underlying story elements that are not easily identified. You have to pay attention...might be why people do not like the show. After the recent glut of "anything goes"fantasy and fluff sci-fi..I'm finding the darkness of this series refreshing
Dunkirk (2017)
MANY disliked it which means..It's EXCELLENT!
We enjoyed it!Hans Zimmer's Soundtrack was INTENSE & Spot On.The Movie was filmed in a stripped down fashion.....abstract & stark....MILES above the typical viewer's ability to understand.People just don't get Nolan's "Vision".
