The Big Chill (1983)
Masterful cinema
I don't know why I didn't watch this way sooner at least it came on HBO live. The cast is exceptional, soundtrack is fire, the deep topics about life are enriching potent greatness, and love the gentle nature of everything! Lawerence Kasdan directed this with so much charm and passion; I don't understand how there's some that don't like The Big Chill. Most movies from the 80's deserve praise they were done with quite differently, so genuine and had a more authentic vibe that some movies nowadays don't have as much. I like how the kid in the beginning that wanted an autograph is Jake Kasdan he turned into a pretty good director too. Easy to recommend Big Chill so damn good!
Arthur (2011)
It's delightful for what it is
I enjoy this but a long time ago I watched the 1981 that one is really good! Russell Brand and Greta Gerwing are great together in this silly romance. Greta is absolutely gorgeous I like how she is a director/actor she's quite talented. Arthur is a little cheesy yet perfect as guilty pleasure to enjoy whenever on HBO. Mixed vibes surely but deserves above a 6 at least some comedy movies are under-appreciated. What else to say it's unlike Jennifer Garner to be so raunchy she's beautiful especially in her inappropriate outfit in one scene. I definitely love Greta's charm she's so sweet, has a nice motherly vibe and for a movie about a rich person it's awesome fun!
Anora (2024)
Magnificent wild ride!
Anora and Florida Project are Sean Baker's best films genuinely deserves high ratings! I saw this with someone named Seth that is basically an assistant worker for people with autism, I don't think he was as into the film as I was but he said it's a 7 to him so that's nice. I didn't expect so much sexual activity mashed in yet the story of romance and fair amount of drama that was all so damn good I would even say Mikey Madison deserves at least a nomination for her performance. Before today I wanted to see Anora for a few weeks it just wasn't playing at my favorite theater Stonecrest Charlotte - I loved quite a bit glad I got to see this wild romance/drama.
She's Out of My League (2010)
Such an excellent comedy/romance!
Jay Barachul and Alice Eve are magnificent definitely goes well with the story. Alice is such a 10 especially back then anyone would be lucky to know her. I love the whole cast I was even watching Silicon Valley a bit ago and Tj Miller is in both which he's always a delight at least before his personal struggles the last 5 years ish. I didn't get much sleep yet I absolutely love this gem and how smooth most of it is. She's Out of My League genuinely deserves better ratings or at least plenty of praise; delightful that it's not full of crude behavior like some comedies over saturate with innuendos this is wholesomely awesome!
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016)
So much fun!
I absolutely love Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, originally saw in the theater just wasn't reviewing at the time. Such a funny movie especially when Adam Devine yells a couple times, or when Zac Efron asks what's a push pop I love that, and I love all the madness! Awesome how it's based on true story. I respect anyone who loves this wild comedy sure it's a little messy but it's a great entertaining experience. I like how Zac and the one girl was in Bad grandpa as well I love that movie too. The crew behind this is magnificent they are good at their craft, I need to watch more comedies and other delightful wholesome ones.
The Franchise (2024)
Pretty good
Awesome studio type show with awesome techno music and goofy actors within actors not to bad fun entertainment! Surprised the low rating on IMDb at least plenty appreciate The Franchise. I love the cast so much especially Himesh Patel, Billy M, and most everyone else is lovely; I wish I could hangout in a cinema studio it seems so great. The humor is great, the writing is pretty smooth, fairly intriguing and magnificent entertainment value truly deserves better ratings! Delightful series for the most part but hbo is lacking on better shows except The Penguin that is a pure masterpiece - I would understand hate this show is a little chaotic/cheesy.
It's Florida, Man (2024)
I love weird
I meant to watch when released nice that there's currently 3 episodes it seems IMDb doesn't update upcoming ones anymore. It's Florida Man is quite wild, goofy, and a little bit of horror vibes unexpected from HBO I love it though! Reminds me of Room 104 that series was full of bizarre stuff mashed in different creators; it's a lovely mix of screwball behavior and a little bit of mtv reality style with better directing. Breaking the 4th wall is nicely captivating/intriguing great how there's true stuff with entertainment value awesome how actors play alternate versions of characters that look fairly similar. I understand the ratings it's a little cheesy yet awesomeness!
Tangerine (2015)
Pretty good
I've seen most Sean Baker films now and this one is wild better than expected for it being filmed on an iPhone. The leads are delightful and the music is so great; I would say Florida Project is among one of my favorites of Sean Baker yet this is awesome entertainment value! Reminds me of the style of Crank films I love those quite a bit. Tangerine has a fair amount of naughty behavior, a little bit of drama, goofiness and interesting people mashed well. Hope that Sean makes more movies I've gotten used to his style along with non experienced actors as his trademark, I'd like to see his recent film Anora that should be exceptional!
Tell Me Lies (2022)
Excellent - Gets better as it goes!
Generally not my type but I really enjoy the series a lot! Grace Van Patten is cute and I think it's so wonderful she's the daughter of Tim Van Patten one of the brillant writer behind Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire! Unique for me to be into this series seems more aimed at girls but I'm a 32 year old guy that enjoys the drama a fair amount, the cast and soundtrack make it all worth it.
The romance is so sweet it's nice how they make you care about the drama, the story and cast get more worth watching. Genuinely gets better as it goes even if it's mixed at times I got really into Tell Me Lies and highly recommend! I have autism I'm fairly different and retrying to upload the review since no one liked the way I had it before.
Leatherheads (2008)
It's solid
I enjoy most anything involving George Clooney or directed but this is a little cheesy and too off kilter I'm pretty sure is the saying. I enjoyed the sport part of but so much afterwards was scattered, tried to be romantic doesn't feel it, and I don't understand the crime stuff that happened fast. Great cast that's for sure and pretty good acting sometimes too goofy. George has directed a handful of films but honestly he's a better actor at least for other films! Renee Zellewinger is lovely in most projects I mean she's one of the best aspects in this her emotions on exceptional better than most occasions. I respect the ones that bashed Leatherheads it's an alright film!
Knight and Day (2010)
Excellent wild ride
Tom Cruise is impressive in so many action films I don't know how he does it. I enjoy most James Mangold films he's talented at his craft especially with Identity, Girl Interrupted and Logan those are spectacular! Knight and Day is an exhilarating action experience, it's crazy to think Tom did the bulk of his stunts he's one of the most ultimate actors out there. I'm pretty sure this is considered a one man army type those are satisfying once in a while. I'm pretty sure the leads were in Vanilla Sky as well that is great one been a long time since I've seen that, mostly just remember it being complex not like this under appreciated gem!
Grotesquerie (2024)
Pretty good
I would say the trailers/ads were intriguing weeks back yet the show is above average, not much special! I was hoping more terror, not sure about other stuff the nun woman that is interested in the case is strange, and some parts are bit cheesy otherwise I like Grotesquerie. An interesting mix of unsettling, nuns, and weird moments besides usually when I use the word Grotesque it's usually about a gruesome film not sure if this much violence yet except the aftermath. I don't know what to think I mean Niecy Nash is magnificent that's for sure! Ryan Murphy has definitely better content but this is worth checking out.
21 & Over (2013)
"The way we move"
Absolutely love Miles Teller he has the best personality! The bulk of the movie is fun, great entertainment value, fairly comedic, and potentially some flaws dishonest about the age along with a little sad otherwise awesomeness all around. Easy to hate surely I would understand yet I love the party vibe and creating memories; I kinda wish I could party I barely have. I've barely seen Skylar Austin except this and Pitch Perfect films he seems wonderful all around. Crazy how one of the most ridiculous things is how if the characters realized about the chief sooner they would've been set for Jeff Changs address fun movie regardless of anything!
As Good as It Gets (1997)
Masterful
I've seen a couple times on HBO live not sure why I didn't review yet except I wasn't sleeping much a while thankfully October has been exceptional along with how exceptional this film is! James L. Brooks directed this gem with gentle performances of Helen Hunt worthy of award wins she seems so sweet, Jack Nicholson was at least 57 during this with his casual style yet magnificent, and Greg Kinnear has always been a fantastic being. I absolutely love As Good as It Gets; it is the ultimate gift of well filmed cinema a timeless classic that invites you to love the vibes of romance and drama sprinkled in very well! I very respect how James L. Brooks has done a handful of directing but mostly writing, and producing credits the man is great at his craft.
Red Rocket (2021)
Excellent for what is!
Simon Rex is great he reminds me of some people I used to hang out that have bad habits. Sean Baker is an excellent director although Florida Project is better, the budget is fairly low for films by Sean but they have plenty of charm.
Kinda surprised by the 7.1 rating I mean it's nice and the directing/ cinematography is incredible; I really like Red Rocket it's got a lovely home vibe that I wish I was part of! Some of it is mediocre surely but it's nice one Strawberry is so cute I wish I could hangout with her, not sure why her age is lied about even still she's half the age of Simon Rex. I'm glad I don't live as low poverty style that's for sure.
Venom: The Last Dance (2024)
I don't understand the hate
Saw in imax earlier today then had a nice bourbon afterwards that was delightful! I'm not sure why this movie isn't more appreciated but damn it's a fun entertaining adventure with nice humor, great vibes, and awesome action. I love all the Venom movies although first one is the best Tom Hary/Symbiote are magnificent in all 3 no matter what. Last Dance surely has some moments to complain about Im not sure it is blast of fun to me everyone behind the crew worked hard on the film so if anything appreciate some of it. The wild villain definitely has scary strength I doubt more powerful than Thanos maybe close; thoroughly enjoyable would highly recommend!
Gladiator (2000)
Awesome history epic!
I've seen only once in 2016 I remember enjoying quite a bit I just don't remember much, now rewatching extended cut to prepare for the new Gladiator coming in a few weeks or so. Ridley Scott has done some phenomenal films I definitely see why this is well praised and won 5 Oscar's. The music is exceptional/soothing, the directing is brilliantly done, the acting is exceptional worthy of iconic status, and the action is legendary! Gladiator is not really my type but it is a glorious feat of great magnitude, but generally I wouldn't be into battle movies except occasionally yet still would recommend easy to praise everything. I like when people reference Gladiator and kinda nice there's a sequel coming a little odd though it's better as an original; glad I rented this gem.
When You Finish Saving the World (2022)
Pretty good debut by Jesse Eisenberg
I probably could've seen sooner glad it's available to stream on Amazon prime, I understand the mixed reviews not much to it but pretty enjoyable and Julianne Moore is wholesome! Nice how Jesse got into directing films I'm intrigued for anything else he does or acts in. Social services is lovely to me cause I have autism I require certain services that help me occasionally if only it could be more consistent. The subject matter of young ones talk about important matters or how Finn Wolfhard plays music for various cultures in live streams is all exceptional! Sure there's nothing special about the film but it's definitely enjoyable for what it is.
Bad Monkey (2024)
So damn enjoyable
My mom that's 63 recommended the series for a while it's so worth it, I don't have a good reason for delaying but damn Bad Monkey is well made and I love Vince Vaughn. Such a well written, fairly funny, charming cast, and keeps you intrigued which is the perfect kicker to keep you wanting more! This seires deserves high praise for the entertainment value, in fact most on Apple TV is great happy to be back into the service after a couple months hiatus. The cinematography is one of the best satisfying aspects it's beautifully shot all around especially by the beach and any inside scenes are colorful it's so wonderful; I respect the crew behind this awesome show!
The Penguin (2024)
Masterful all around
Not sure if I have a good reason why I haven't watched sooner I'm usually better at keeping up with HBO in my opinion it's the best entertainment service out there always has been. Anyway perfect continuation of The Batman 2022, The Penguin mini series hits the spots with groundbreaking acting, exceptional cinematography, incredible makeup and exciting vibes jam packed! It's very similar to gangster style types like Sopranos or something similar just with different story elements and damn Collin Ferrel is an exceptional actor in anything the last 20 years. This deserves to be nominated next go around of nominations!
Smile 2 (2024)
Bombastic - Even better than first Smile!
This freaked me out so much horror packed in worthy in RPX or any amazing quality available. Parker Finn is so talented at directing especially with the glow, the acting, morbid terror, and psychologically mind-bending. I loved Naomi Scott she's sublime! I don't know most audiences handle how much intense imagery that there's plenty of horror to burn into the brain. I hope this movie doesn't get spoiled for anyone there's so much wonderful entertainment/glorious surprises mashed perfectly. I might be average at my details I have autism but I absolutely loved everything Smile 2 deserves to be praised.
Terrifier 3 (2024)
I give all these a 9
First wide release Terrifier the previous one was a fathom event, I have the regal subscription so this was cheap which is fair for the way style is. I don't know how these films get made without being NC-17, it's so grotesque more than most horror.
I bet David Howard Thornton has fun being Art the Clown his mannerisms are delightful and the violence is traumatizing! I wonder if there's stories about anyone experiencing health problems from what they witness at least vomiting. Probably the biggest flaw is sound design is off everything else is natural with Damien Leone's style not sure what else to say crazy experience!
Saturday Night (2024)
Spectacular all around
Even not knowing much about Saturday Night Live, the movie is magnificent and so much fun! Jason Reitman directed everyone so well as should be for a great director of Juno, Up in the Air and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Fairly chaotic, all the cast was entertaining, and the comedy was great seemed different than most nowadays that was pleasant. Saturday Night deserves the high ratings especially the 7.4 rating on IMDb delighted praise this wild ride. I want to watch a lot of the series if it's accessible depends what it's on I don't always have peacock, I'm glad I saw this this in the theater awesome experience!
The Perfect Couple (2024)
Pretty good
Fairly well made with some cheesy moments, great cast, beautiful scenery, and solid acting. Sure it's been done heaps but the mystery with the family is the most interesting aspect plus I love seeing successful doing well they do keep things worthy throughout no matter what. I understand the mixed ratings there's bits that are awkward like in the first episode there was a sexual scene where the woman didn't explain why she didn't want to continue into intercourse that made no sense, along with how there's other awkward acted moments that's definitely the biggest flaw! I enjoy most of the leads and Susanne Bier is a great director at least for other series. I would recommend the mini series for what it is despite any complaints it's above average!
Megalopolis (2024)
Mediocre at best
I understand the hate Megalopolis is fairly cheesy, to me the best aspect was the Sci-Fi/ Wisdom filled otherwise I don't know what to think of the rest. It's unfortunate coming from a legendary director Francis Ford Coppola that this is fairly boring, often felt cheesy, complex, and just seemed more bad than anything else. I like some of the conversations, the futuristic vibe, and Adam Driver is quite talented! This was different for Shia Labouf I bet he had fun playing with his character, and nice how I saw My Old Ass before this with Aubrey Plaza in as well she's delightful in anything. I'm sorry to say this movie is quite bad the bulk of the time!
